How many BTCs are you looking for 500 ltc ?

Not sure, just signed up to a few of those exchanges people told me to sign up to and will see what I get offered on there then I will see what that fee's are and maybe I can help avoid the fee's and do a direct trade if it's worth it.

Regards,

Martin.
122  Economy / Currency exchange / [WTS] 500 Litecoin -> Bitcoins. on: May 05, 2013, 09:34:31 PM
Hello,

Martin here, looking to trade my 500 Litecoin for Bitcoin. I have asked around on the forum and they told me to go to exchanges but I thought I would take advantage of this section and see if I can come up trumps.

Regarding trading them for cash, I am not really that interested but it would be a possibility maybe. I would be interested in a face to face trade but it would only be possible on the weekends due to working in a school and I tend to work late due to having to work on the computers after the students have left so it would be hard for me to do it in the week.

If you want to contact me about a trade, feel free to send me a personal message and we can see how it goes. Or if you have any good sites you can recommend me to exchange them that would be awesome.

Regards,

Martin Reynolds.

Well it is a gamble because you din't know if BTC will be at $100 next month or $200 or $40 or $20.  Some people think it could never go back to $20 but it is very possible.  But if you buy and it starts to tank on you, just sell before it gets too bad, just like with the stock market.

That's how the market crashes, everyone panic sells and then it drops.

Martin.

can anyone trace better than city/country?

46-253-179-12.dynamic.swissvpn.net

That's a VPN so it wouldn't be the real IP of the person anyway.

Any updates on this, kind of puts me off using exchanges. I am not really a trader, just a small time investor but it would be good if I can buy Bitcoins from there with ease and not have to worry.

Sign up for and use one of the exchanges. You can trade LTC for BTC on btc-e.com, vircurex.com or bter.com.

That could work, thanks for the sites. Do they have any commission fee's involved.

Martin.

Hello,

I have around 550 Litecoins that I am considering to trade for Bitcoins and I was wondering what's the best way to go about this, new to all this but highly experience to selling items on sites such as eBay but this is all new to me. Would I just go ahead and post a thread in the market and then arrange a deal.

Martin.

This is pretty awesome, hopefully they enable Bitcoin withdrawals and it would be a bit of competition with MtGox.

There are no BitCoins, it's a contract for difference.

Oh right, I guess I didn't understand it.  I will have to read up on it.

129  Economy / Speculation / Re: How much effect does this forum have on Bitcoin? on: May 05, 2013, 08:20:45 PM
I guess this forum helps spread all the different Bitcoin services, and helps new people to get involved. Without the forum, I would know a lot less than I would now and I have only been using it for two days.

Martin.

Hopefully the moderators can ban the IP and stop these criminals from trying to scam users.

Avoid most .exe files, unless you know where you're downloading them from. Such as reputable sites, and programs.

In my experience, 6 confirmations generally takes a hour. So 2 confirmations takes around 20 minutes, I think OP must already have 6.

Buying Bitcoins is more investing for people who like to take a risk, although you can gamble with all these new gambling sites popping up everywhere.

For someone who mostly lurks, the 5 posts requirement is a tough one.

The 5 posts is pretty easy, there are quite a few decent threads in here.

I still fear it may be just a pump and dump, hopefully it starts to become widely used.

If I ever decided to set up a Litecoin rig, I would build a GPU rig.

CPU mining that's where its at !

What makes you think that, are you experienced in it.

I did play with the thought of mining, but never really got round to it and just invested in coins instead.

I bought most of my coins from meeting in person, it does give you that satisfaction that you won't get scammed. I did actually buy all my Litecoins online tho.
