121  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why are people scared of taxes? on: November 01, 2017, 09:04:06 PM
As a taxpayer, my greatest fear regarding tax is not the contribution but the possibility that it might end up on someone else's pocket such as corrupt politicians. I understand that it is every citizen's responsibility to give taxes but as long as it will be used to improve tha country and the government services and it will serve the purpose why it was first collected.
122  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is Global Warming Real? on: November 01, 2017, 09:00:02 PM
I do believe it is real. Before, it doesn't go that hot during summer here where I live but now it goes up to beyond 40 degrees celcius (before it doesn't reach 40). Our weather pattern has also become very erratic to the point that it sometimes become completely unpredictable.
123  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you have a gun? on: November 01, 2017, 08:51:22 PM
No, I don't have. According to studies, if there is a gun in a household, there is an 80 percent probability that that gun will shoot someone who lives in that house whether intentional or by accident. Yes you may use it for self defense, but if you have kids who are curious or a family member with anger issues, it would be a great risk.
124  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Would you eat a human? on: November 01, 2017, 08:47:37 PM
Never. I'd rather die of starvation rather than eat another human being. We as humans are created in God's image which means that we have to respect and love each other because that is the moral thing to do. Besides, human meat is not fit for consumption as it has too much fat content and will cause serious conditions and illnesses when eaten.
125  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Main Cause of accidents/road safety on: November 01, 2017, 08:42:47 PM
Distracted driving is also another contributor to road accidents. How many movies have we seen that featured characters singing/ dancing or even doing stupid stuff while on the road, then BAAAM, an accident happens! It might me a cliche and we sometimes laugh on these scenarios but it also happens in real life and is never a laughing matter especially if someone got harmed.
126  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Main Cause of accidents/road safety on: November 01, 2017, 08:38:21 PM
Driving under the influence of drug or alcohol are still the main culprit of road accidents. It comprises a big chunk of reported cases and had caused a lot of lives and dreams detroyed or even ended. It is very sad to know that these accidents have affected innocent lives just because of someone else's irresponsibility.
127  Economy / Economics / Re: Is an economy without physical money safe for the poorest? on: November 01, 2017, 08:31:27 PM
With the current situation, not yet, as not all people have access nor even a basic knowledge of how bitcoin work, on how to use it for transactions. Can you imagine giving alms in a form of virtual money? That might also be risky. Even if bitcoin becomes more common, I think that cash will still be around and might still be used for small cost transactions.
128  Economy / Economics / Re: Why people scam on: November 01, 2017, 08:24:00 PM
Scammers are people who loves to take advantage of people by stealing their buyers hard earned money for tgeir selfish gains. To avoid getting scammed, we should only transact with people we personally know and not just other people's referral. If in any case that you cannot avoid making a deal with someone you don't know, do your own research if the person has a good history of selling products or an outstanding trust rating to avoid getting scammed.
129  Economy / Economics / Re: Why people scam on: November 01, 2017, 08:19:33 PM
People deceive through scamming because they wanted to gain more money as quickly as possible, even without working for it, even to the point that they have to steal. This people are one of the lowest kind of people as they don't know how to respect others even themselves by exchanging their dignity or a good name with wealth. They are liars and should never be trusted .
130  Economy / Economics / Re: Life with out money ? on: November 01, 2017, 02:40:27 PM
Sometimes I want to imagine what life would be like if money was not invented. Like we would have to do things manually on our own as no one would be selling merchandise as we have no currency. We would have to hunt to find food when we are hungry, make our own clothes, build our own shelter. It would be a daily camping experience.
131  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Working Abroad is a lot of sacrifice. on: November 01, 2017, 02:36:18 PM
Working abroad is a really hard thing to do as you would have to go to a foreign country with different beliefs, practices, language and culture. That's why working abroad should be just a temporary solution unless if you are planning to migrate or transfer and bring your entire family to that country.
132  Economy / Economics / Re: The future of the paper money on: November 01, 2017, 07:23:52 AM
There is still a long journey for cash/physical money despite of bitcoin's popularity. You see, there are still places in the world who don't accept, transact or even have access to bitcoin so they would still have to do things the classic way and that is through cash. Also, as bitcoin's value is increasing,  using physical would be an option for small cost purchases.
133  Economy / Economics / Re: Does this mean Cash will be extinct? on: November 01, 2017, 07:16:58 AM
Despite of the growing fame of bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, I truly believe that cash or physical money will not cease to exist and will still coexist as it has been used by our civilization for a very long time. We are still dependent to it and there are still a huge fraction of the world's population who still doesn't have access to virtual money so I think that completely phasing it out may take some time.
134  Economy / Economics / Re: BTC is a roller coaster on: November 01, 2017, 07:12:01 AM
Bitcoin really is a roller coaster ride not just for beginners even for the experts of cryptocurrency. It could actually be quite erratic in terms of value as it's worth also depends on the rule of demand and supply. Moreover, it also causes a roller coaster of emotions to those who invest and utilize it.
135  Economy / Economics / Re: Electronic Money vs. Physical Money on: November 01, 2017, 07:03:41 AM
Though electronic money is more convenient as you won't have to bring a lot of cash with you everytime, there are also a lot of risks to its security. Since electronic money is all virtual, there is a possibility of it getting hacked if the person using is not knowledgeable enough on how to secure and manage it.
136  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you believe all muslims are bad? on: November 01, 2017, 06:56:27 AM
No, not all. Sure there are bad people who chooses to do evil things, but doing it out of your own will or decision is something that you would have to decide on and be accountable for. I thint that Islam does not really teach to terrorize people but there are extremists who go beyond what is being taught to them by their faith same as the extremists of other world views.
137  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What is the Meaning of Sin? on: November 01, 2017, 06:46:18 AM
John Wesley's mother, Susanna Wesley, I think gave one of the best definition of sin:
"Whatever weakens your reason, impairs the tenderness of your conscience, obscures your sense of God, or takes off your relish of spiritual things; in short whatever increases the strength and authority of the flesh over the spirit, that thing is sin to you, however good it is in itself".
There, plain and simple guidelines.
138  Other / Off-topic / Re: Will the electric car destroy the petrol car? on: November 01, 2017, 06:39:02 AM
If only more people will get serious in supporting electric cars, I think it really has great potential. Our planet's fuel is getting consumed faster than the time it needs to be recreated thus we really have to try finding other alternative source of energy. If we can only revolutionize solar, water and electric powered devices like cars, then we wont have to deplete the earth's resources.
139  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Health and Religion on: October 31, 2017, 11:56:46 PM
I strongly agree that when we meditate or pray and fix our minds into something, it also helps us in a physiological way. When we meditate, it relaxes our body and our minds helping us to boost our focus. Thus, we are able to think clearer and better since we also are able to release some of our stress.
140  Other / Politics & Society / Re: how to break teenage video game addiction on: October 30, 2017, 06:13:38 PM
Just to add, you may also try playing a very frustrating game, one that is almost impossible to finish and you would really have difficulties playing until it frustrates you to the point that you would despise it. Worked for me when I was playing Pokemon Go as I got frustrated getting legendary pokemons. Then I got tired of playing it especially that it required a lot of effort from me.
