121  Other / Meta / Re: How about we start banning scammers? on: November 06, 2017, 04:52:28 PM
The only thing i hate is the fact that every day we get a x amount of "i am banned" topic. The rule states that ban evasion is not allowed. So why do we still get the i am banned post. Every i am banned topic should result in an instant perma ban, with no discussion. Or is it to the community to just report every alt account that has been made to evade bans?
122  Other / Meta / Re: The account is locked. How can unlock? on: November 06, 2017, 01:56:59 PM
The question "how can i unlock" is simple, read the mail it says you can appeal by sending a mail to that adress.

I would be aware of creating a new account, cause this is called ban evasion and according to the rules #25
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=703657.0

It is not allowed.
123  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hold $NXT in your account and get free $IGNIS on: November 06, 2017, 10:55:07 AM
Anyone know how to claim the free Ignis? I have the Nxt light wallet downloaded. Ignis sold out their $21M so this thing should take off!

You have(had) 2 ways to get ignis.
1. Buy JLDRA tokens with NXT via the NXT wallet which automatically will convert to IGNIS tokens after the genesis snapshot.(however the ICO has ended so this is N/A)
2. Hold NXT in your NXT wallet and your NXT will automatically give you IGNIS tokens at the snapshot date.
124  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XRP] Ripple Speculation on: November 06, 2017, 10:19:27 AM
Prediction of experts for  Ripple price in 2018 is an active continuation of the growth. Price levels between 0.6 and 1.0, and even higher for XRP / USD - look quite real. So, the current price 0.23 - is very cool for buying!

Price has been constantly dropping and been on a bear trend for long time.
i wont be surprise if it reach march 2016 price of 600 sat

They said they would put a couple billion ripples in escrow in Q4 of this year, that itself would give a big boost to the price due to the fact that less ripples would be in circulation. However the communication of ripple is not what you call perfect.... So i still hope they are doing what they promised.
125  Other / Meta / Re: Did i get hacked? Need help on: November 06, 2017, 09:25:21 AM
It's hard to proof due to the fact that if your account was compromised due to a phishing attempt, why would they just post with your account without changing your password. They would at least take over full control of your account and sell it for money.  The motto is "innocent till proven guilty", however you are in a tough situation. The only thing you can do is PM SebastianJu regarding your BTC, and in regards to the phishing links you send in PM's that will be hard to prove, because i don't think theymos will check IP logins just for your account.
126  Other / Meta / Re: Did i get hacked? Need help on: November 06, 2017, 08:25:34 AM
Hi, I am GaddaKhan,(using a new account now as I am banned)  and I think that I fell for this because I received several such messages as well. I think that my account was compromised as I am now banned. I also have 1.6btc in Escrow at SebastianWu (With Original GaddaKhan account) and I am possibly going to lose it as whoever got hold of my account (due to successfully phishing me) has sent some personal messages compromising my deal with Sebastian and the seller.

If someone can assist me here. Especially with my Escrow deal as SebastianWu has banned me and I don;t know how to prove my innocence.

Your negative feedback from Sebastianju says Scammed involving a fake account when I escrowed a deal., so think that you are the one scamming him?
If not follow the link to the ban appeal and pray that the mods believe your story.
127  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [HOW TO] Live tracking in excel on: November 06, 2017, 08:18:46 AM
Thank you, I was looking for something like that. Can you also do this for the top 100 coins only?

Thanks for the reply, please change the api URL in:
Code:
https://api.coinmarketcap.com/v1/ticker/?limit=100

You can change the ticker limit how you want it, for example top 10 coins =
Code:
https://api.coinmarketcap.com/v1/ticker/?limit=10
128  Other / Meta / Re: Account farming, copy and paste spam monkeys on: November 05, 2017, 08:55:02 PM
Can't we just ban campaign managers who don't blacklist these types of spammers though?

Banning campaign managers won't solve the problem. The problem is that account spamming is not solved quick enough. Especially on the foreign boards with no admin you could just spam 1234 in a different language and nobody will look at it. The only thing we can do as a community is recognize these accounts and report them.
129  Other / Meta / Re: My account has been blocked. Lol3c on: November 05, 2017, 07:26:46 PM
Please help me Sad someone please. I can send a right amount from an ethereum address that I am holding.. please unlock my account

Bumping the thread won't speed up the proces, if you followed https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=497545.0 you just need to be patience.
Like actmyname said, if you can't send a signed message with your staked bitcoin adress, maybe you can sign a message with your ethereum wallet, if that ethereum adress has been posted on the forum. Just PM cyrus or theymos and wait.

Hi all,

Searched the forum but couldn't find a tutorial how to add coinmarketcap in excel, so here i go.

What you need
MS Excel 2007/2013
MS Power Query https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=39379

Set up excel
When you finished setting up power query in excel you should see this icon:

If the new tab is in excel we can start with setting up the coinmarket API in excel:

Start with going to the new power query tab and click on from web

In the next screen copy and paste this link:
Code:
https://api.coinmarketcap.com/v1/ticker/?limit=0

you'll get something like this and press ok:

After pressing ok, you'll get the following screen:

Now that the API has loaded in press the button "to table"

now press "ok" and than press the left filter button as shown here:

After you press ok you can change colum name like you prefer, or even delete colums you don't need

After you done renaming colums press "Close & Load' and you are good to go:

TIP
If you want your data to refresh every X minute set the mouse on a cel -> go to Design and press connection properties

Now you can change how fast/slow you want the coinmarketcap data to be refresh as seen below:

Help
Feel free to ask in this topic if you need help in setting up this live coinmarketcap API in excel.

If you find this topic to be helpful you can always buy me a beer:

Waw, why people take other people account here. i think it's easy to build your account here, no need to post your id .

So people can get high ranked member accounts -> sell them for BTC and run away. Good job OP for recognizing the obscure link.

Can we take down that website by sending a mail to the registrar, or implement some kind of URL checker on the forum or something.

132  Other / Meta / [Suggestion] Turn-off member search via email on: November 05, 2017, 01:23:40 PM
Hi all,

To my concern i saw that we could look-up members via an email adress. I think this is a bad thing due to the fact that if an email adress is hacked on another site, you could simply search if that email adress has an account here on bitcoin talk and use the same password (in the example people use the same password for mail and their bitcoin talk account).

Is there any use case where searching via email adress is a good thing?
133  Other / Meta / Re: Banned Account on: November 05, 2017, 11:02:56 AM
Hii, I need help.
My other account is blocked with the following message:

Sorry DIGIEXTRADER, you are banned from posting or sending personal messages on this forum.
You have been banned by a forum moderator. You may appeal here: banappeals-w6pquw43@theymos.e4ward.com

I'm a beginner but I think I've read the rules of this forum and I don't break the rules.
this account is five days old, there are only three posts and I don't spam or get off the topic.
which I am confused as to why all my posts in different threads and different days deleted all within 6 minutes and I was banned permanently without any warning whatsoever.
I hope the admin can return my account, please give me a second chance. Thank you before

If it's only 5 days old, why don't you read the rules: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=703657.0 and start over. You haven't lost anything and maybe after reading the rules you can now start a new fresh beginning.
134  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: When BTC up, Why ALTCOIN suddenly down .? on: November 05, 2017, 10:52:01 AM
I have some doubt about Crypto network , BTC is the major one i Know but when BTC is going UP Why ALTCOIN is suddenly going down what is the link between BTC  and  altcoin ? I'm new to Crypto network, These days I focus on BTC veriation and Altcoin veriation then I get this problem.

Hope seniors help me to clarify this matter

1. you may know that a lot of altcoins have BTC as a trading pair, therefore the price of an altcoin correlates to the price of bitcoin.
2. In a normal market (with no fork) the price of BTC can go up and the price of an altcoin can go up (nothing strange)
3. The thing now (and you can verify it) is that the BTC dominance is up a lot compared to couple of weeks ago, which means that money invested in altcoins (and in some extent new money) is removed from altcoins and put into bitcoin due to the fact that people want free B2X. This leads to a dump in price of altcoins and bitcoins that gets a new ATH every day.
135  Economy / Goods / Re: Bentley Continental GT for 5 BTC on: November 05, 2017, 10:34:30 AM
How would you scam someone in that situation ? I'm not trolling, just genuinely wondering how that would work out, I'm trying to prevent scams myself and god knows Bitcoin made scammers fairly imaginative.

I can imagine multiple scenarios where one could scam someone, real estate for example : rent an AirBNB, hire fake lawyers ( friends) and a fake office , buy fake ID's, print fake paperwork and disappear with Bitcoin, could be done with good S.E, I would be super careful if i were to buy real estate using Bitcoin.

But as far as cars are concerned, I'm clueless.

I mean, even if he was trying to sell a rental, wouldn't he want to make his ad look more authentic ? There are tons of easier ways to scam people than cars.

Maybe it's the real deal, who knows.

Step 1:  Scammer arranges a trade on localbitcoins.com to deposit 30k pounds/euro/dollar via cash deposit for x.xx btc purchase.

Step 2:  Have buyer of "car" deposit 30k pounds/euro/dollar to the account of the localbitcoins.com trader.

Step 3:  localbitcoins.com trader thinks he has been paid for the bitcoin so releases escrow to scammer.

Step 4:  Buyer of car files chargeback/fraud through bank - chaos ....

Well if that happens it's the mistake of the buyer. If you buy a car you
1. test the car
2. check the car
3. If happy, pay the owner
4. perform change of ownership

Paying bitcoins instead of fiat is not so different from a normal trade. It's not like now you pay in bitcoins, you will pay before you get the car. That's just stupid.
136  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The Palm Beach Confidential For November on: November 05, 2017, 09:50:28 AM
Hello

i would like to start the talk about the Palm Beach Confidential pick for this month ... after watching some recent videos on youtube and looking at some forums as it seems they are going to pick of Those coins  ( XRP - SYS - STORJ - BAT - GOLEM ) , last month was Zencash coin which saw a great rise in price

i would like to know your opinions about which one you think will be picked and why

Everything from PBC i don't believe. It's a classic pump and dump scheme (PBC buys low -> promote to subscribers -> subscribers buy the coin -> market reacts on sudden price movement -> PBC sells high ->subscribers that still didn't sell are stuck with the coin).

You are doing it wrong:

You should be using

139  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [GREEN] Sustainable/Regenerative Energy Coins on: November 04, 2017, 12:49:56 PM
Hey, everyone

I was wondering if there is a specific section or group on here where people talk about environmentally conscious coins - or projects wanting to take better care of the planet - via positive social change, environmental, or conservation.

So far, I have found WePower, Power Ledger, and now BitProperty that look really awesome.

WePower Website: https://wepower.network/
Power Ledger Website: https://powerledger.io
Bitproperty WebsitE: https://btptoken.io/en/

I would really love to see the world of crypto get more actively involved with projects that will actually benefit all life and not just looking for quick gains, but in a perfect world... we could have both Smiley

I also got into WePower at the PRE-ICO stage and really excited to see the development of this project with their pretty epic team.

I don't think there is a thread about sustainable coins (feel free to make one if you would like to discus), however the coins you mentioned have an announcement page on BCT:

Wepower: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2207367.0
Powerledger: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2003922.0
Bitproperty: None
140  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ardor. NXT, IGNIS NEM can you suggest me? on: November 04, 2017, 12:41:19 PM
Sorry  I still don't  understand  the real potenciality of  some projects  for  example   Ardor  and  NXT  and  IGNIS, and  NEM

I  saw  them  here   a  couple of times  and  everyone  said ''Invest on them, thy are   good  projects''

Can  you  please explain me  what   do they make?

As  I have understood  they are project  comparable to ETH

What  makes  them appealing to  me  is  that they  have their  own  blockchain completly  separated  from the bitcoin blockchain?

So  should  they be valuable?

Please help   I can't understand the real potenciality  of  these projects

Please help

Ardor, NXT and ignis, are of the same company Jelurida.

NXT was the first mainchain. Ardor is the evolution of NXT with couple of improvements. And Ignis is the first childchain on the ardor platform. You can see IGNIS as the tokens that work on the ethereum network, where the ethereum network is in this example Ardor.

Here are some helpfull links:
