121  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Too late for Bitcoin? on: January 18, 2018, 05:26:08 PM
It is never too late to invest in bitcoin but that depends on what your investment goals are and how much capital you have. Actually the capital really doesn't matter what matters most is your risk and pain tolerance on top of what your investment goals are. Once you figure these things out you can appropriately jump in or not but you must consider all the factors before making investment decisions, especially in these volatile cryptocurrency markets.
122  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dips Are good For Crypto on: January 18, 2018, 05:16:48 PM
It is necessary 100% because if there was no dips these markets would be rigged and therefore wouldn't be a proper market. Also lets not forget that we need to shake out the weak hands if we want to go higher and that is probably what happened these past few days we got rid of weaker hands and hopefully higher here we come  Wink.
123  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why would you purchase mining power? on: January 18, 2018, 05:11:47 PM
Well it isn't arbitrage because you are paying in BTC and then receiving your altcoin later on that is mining nothing else. And perhaps people haven't realized it is profitable or don't have the skills to go through getting to that spot? A lot of factors go into wanting to be on NiceHash and that 70 million dollar hack as of late does not help their cause.
124  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What encourages you to invest in any altcoin? on: January 14, 2018, 07:50:58 AM
For me the most promising part about a new coin is the community, and if the community is good I will stick around to find out more. But that being said you obviously need good fundamentals on a coin, not to mention a proper team that replies to you on time. These 3 things combined will give you a good altcoin to follow.
125  Economy / Economics / Re: what is the future of Bitcoin ? on: January 14, 2018, 07:38:07 AM
It will change the way we see the world, the way the world functions but it will be unbeknownst to us I believe. I think the tech will be there but the average person won't know about blockchain until it is explained to them. It is akin to how algorithms work they aren't known by many but they are used certainly in everyday life.
126  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum or bitcoin cash on: January 14, 2018, 07:29:26 AM
If that means overtake then neither but if you are asking which one can get closer to 1 btc then I would argue that coin would be Ethereum. Bitcoin cash doesn't have a leg to stand on and that is obvious for anybody is truly in crypto, it may not be obvious for a beginner though.
127  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: XRB of the future!!! on: January 14, 2018, 07:12:03 AM
Don't think it is the future but I do think another leg for a pump is in store when this coin hits Binance. It may not happen and the dump may take place prior but I feel like there is a good chance yet of a solid pump.
128  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How to spot a x100, x1000 or x10000 coin ? Isn’t this the million $ question ? on: January 09, 2018, 01:06:12 AM
We can but hindsight is 20 20 and that doesn't help us in the present moment. You could possibly trace back but every coin is quite unique in the supply, community, goals, distribution, project, and many other factors. Given that we can't assume what one coin did another will do, it is completely irrational to measure coins like this.
129  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin lightning network on: January 09, 2018, 12:51:55 AM
Cross chain swaps are called atomic swaps that is completely different than Lightning Network. LN is a way to make the system a tad bit more centralized in order so the transaction time and fees will get drastically reduced. I am not sure to what degree but I would imagine transaction would be under $1.00 again and the speed is almost instantaneous if not so.
130  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETC on coinbase ? on: January 09, 2018, 12:48:04 AM
It is a top 20 coin and it generally gets 9 figure volume, how exactly is this low volume? I could see them adding ETC because it is one of the coins that has been around longer therefore having a bigger brand name especially because of Ethereum name.
131  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Binance Why on: January 09, 2018, 12:44:39 AM

132  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO discussion on: January 08, 2018, 10:19:40 AM
Every ICO participation is a risk. Sometimes, I see it as a gamble. Unlike stocks, there are actually no proper checks. Sometimes, all you see is a "copy & paste" whitepaper filled with buzzwords.

Sometimes? I wish it honestly seems like a lot more than sometimes if I am being honest but there are still some gems out there hidden in the rough. I find it tedious however to try and find these gems, rather wait for them to hit the market and buy securely.
133  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I'm very disappointed with myself. on: January 08, 2018, 10:15:17 AM
In my opinion, all participants in this forum can boast of such situations. I myself sold for a few dollars tokens, which then cost a thousand dollars (Storm). This is the market.

Main thing is to learn from these lessons and not try and make same mistake twice. I had similar situation with XRP this past couple of months sold at a loss but could have had 10x gains, quite disappointing but I have learned from it. Coming back stronger! Grin
134  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] Stone - DAG Data-Structured Private Cryptocurrency on: January 02, 2018, 06:00:36 AM
Also, distribution is fine, we can discuss.

But have you decided anything on how much you will keep for yourself or future development fund?
Hi, the community can decide if i need a long term development fund, i do not wish to upset anyone, i'm happy having 0%, i can purchase Stone with my personal savings.

Look forward seeing the finished product. No ICO right?
Thank you for your support, no ICO, there is however an optional donation fund, however that is not necessary for a share, as a community we have not finalized a method for the remaining 70% of distribution, however i can assure you it will be fair, and be something that the community chooses.

felixando

As long as their is no ICO and the distribution is fair and known ahead of time then I am 100% on board with this idea and coin. Not only will I have this thread bookmarked but I have been actively looking for coins to compete with the current DAG coins and Stone looks like a proper competitor Smiley.
135  Other / Off-topic / Re: what will you do when you are in a bad mood? on: January 02, 2018, 05:51:56 AM
Crack open a bottle and have a few drinks because that will always make you feel a bit better, careful not to go past 5 drinks though otherwise then you feel a lot worse Grin.
136  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: how to cancel a Stop Trade on: January 02, 2018, 05:46:33 AM
ok i use this one exchange service and i made a mistake with my LTC
i put a stop order on it to convert to fiat in case values went down too much.
however things are looking ok now and all went up
however my LTC is in a Hold.
what can one do to cancel a Stop order?
or should i just put numbers at a higher amount and will it automatically go back to my account? thanks

Don't do stop orders it is simple as that. The reason I advocate no orders is because you should be able to decide manually whether you should sell or not sometimes you can't account for news and sentiment.
137  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do people insist on getting things like advice for free on: January 02, 2018, 05:43:29 AM
Humans are not only greedy but at the same time cheap and want the best deals possible at every moment. This is why people want free things and probably because most of the world is quite poor and can't afford to hand out money at every instance.
138  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 📌 [ANN] 📢 [ICO] 💰 COINVEST 📈 DECENTRALIZED STOCK MARKET FOR CRYPTOCURRENCIES 📊 on: January 02, 2018, 05:32:08 AM
2017 has been a wild fun ride and one for the books!  We invite you to take a look at what we were able to accomplish together.

Coinvest Year in Review:  https://goo.gl/P2y4kZ

Good progression the team has had thus far, I look forward to what can be accomplished in 2018. It seems like the hard cap will be no problem in being reached, a very positive sign considering many ICOs now fail to raise their respective asking amounts.
139  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is the WORST movie you have ever seen? on: January 02, 2018, 05:28:19 AM
Movie called The Pallbearer with David Schwimmer. I like Schwimmer a lot but in this particular movie everything was abysmal.
140  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Thoughts on Lineage (0 fees and instant) on: January 02, 2018, 05:24:39 AM
Never heard of it and it isn't on coinmarketcap. Care to offer any links or sources about what this coin is about? That would go a long way as I think this is a newer coin and doubt many have information on it.
