123  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The most promising cryptocurrency on: December 07, 2017, 09:03:06 PM
i believe in eth so i'd say that above others.

of course, you then have erc 20 tokens on top of eth and theres many promising ones of thos. OMG would be right up there for me, possiblye DICE as well. XRP as an actual currency could do well in terms of margin of profit and also lite coin. i think litecoin may put another $50 per coin this year. it's been very up and down though for the last three months.
124  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cats & the reasonability of Ethereum on: December 07, 2017, 09:00:10 PM
theres a new craze called cryptokitties that you can buy and breed and sell on. they've gone through a few generations so far, generation 0 was the first and its up to about 19 now. GEN 0 kitties are very expensive, one sold for 264 ETH!! its at cryptokitties.co but you have to have metamask to use it

128  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum at $1000 in Jan 2018? on: December 07, 2017, 08:48:41 PM
i think its incredibly difficult to predict prices in the current environtment
129  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What the hell are Crypto kitties? on: December 07, 2017, 08:47:07 PM
they're still network hogs thats for sure!
130  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Connection between when Bitcoin going up Altcoin going down? on: December 07, 2017, 08:42:27 PM
i think in part because the ethereum network has been extremely slow due to kitties so people are coming out of eth for that reason and pumping in to bitcoin today. mad gains and drops.
131  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's happening to Ethereum transactions ?? on: December 07, 2017, 08:39:57 PM

134  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What Do You Think About Lending Coin Platforms? on: December 05, 2017, 07:16:11 PM
I've yet to see anything which says they will compete with companies in the fiat currency world.
135  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CryptoKitties - Ethereum's first blockchain game on: December 05, 2017, 05:29:06 PM
It was a great idea and I bet they had no idea of how they'd affect the network! Purrfect!
136  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Accidental Ethereum Wallet Freeze Was Actually Deliberate on: November 28, 2017, 10:27:08 AM
it was deliberate in so far as he sent the kill instruction. did he mean to lock in all that eth? that's the salient point and from what he said online most people believe it wasn't intentional. he wasnt trying to steal the eth at all. just mucking about with code. the blame lays squarely with parity on this one.
137  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can less capital mean more for ICO investors? on: November 27, 2017, 05:06:39 PM
ICOs have been the craze for the past year, many teams have raised tremendous amounts of dollars for startup capital. How does the amount of startup capital effect the performance of the team? A week ago I wrote a post about a new project called "Genesis Vision" (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2433032.0) that only raised $2,836,724 in the ICO sale. Genesis Vision ICO investors have already received a 7x return (ICO price valued at $1). We are just getting started, below I've attached the link to an amazing article by Crowd Conscious, which analyzes the importance of startup capital.

"Can Less Capital Mean More For ICO Investors?" Full article by Crowd Conscious: https://blog.genesis.vision/can-less-capital-mean-more-for-ico-investors-cf2eb7fa4349

are you trying to answer your own question? how much eth was that 2.8m dollars worth when the ico was finished? i think you'll find that that dollar figure would have increased quite a lot if they completed their ico a few weeks ago.

most ico's should only be trying to raise an eth amount, not a dollar amount. smaller ico dollar amounts don't necessarily turn in to more for investors imho. it's all about the product of the ico and how well it performs.
138  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Etherum on: November 27, 2017, 05:00:38 PM
Hi everybody
 Huh
I'm wondering how big is the etherum network where the bulk of ICOs are rely on it? how all these ICOs would produce their own services withEth contracts?

thanks

in terms of size, do you mean nodes? i believe at present there are about 6000 nodes. between them, they can process a transaction with about 15 confirmations across the network in 8 seconds. the speed will increase and also the number of transactions possible per second up to the thousands.

all ICO's are basically making applications which are known as dApps (decentralized applications). they only rely on the network for transactions. the smart contracts are deployed on the network to complete the transaction but the work is done within the dApps on their websites.
139  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH chances on: November 27, 2017, 04:45:02 PM
eth does not have the largest market cap, bitcoin does (unless you are talking only about alt coins.)

smart contracts are already deployed and work perfectly. you maybe don't know because you've not read in to it enough. if you want to see a smart contract in action, get some eth, put it in a metamask wallet and head to etheroll.com and have a gamble playing some dice games. aside from network congestion, it works flawlessly.

in the next year when a lot of projects which are being worked on now come to fruition, eth will indeed rise. check out steemit for a new twitter type site that also works perfectly with smart contracts.
140  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Large Investment into Ethereum? on: November 27, 2017, 04:32:28 PM
get in to eth under $500 as much as you can. i've been telling people the same when it was at 250, 300, 350 and 400. it went from 365 to 470 in the space of a few days. this isn't a flash in the pan. people are finally beginning to see just how important ethereum will become.

it will eventually surpass bitcoin in terms of market and cap and coin price.
