121  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Storing Altcoins on exchanges and trust issues on: January 04, 2018, 04:34:11 PM
Basically you have to ask yourself if you want to be more of a trader or long-term investor. If focusing on the buy & hold strategy, then the day to day peaks & dumps shouldn't matter & you're much better off keeping your investment offline in a paper wallet or hardware wallet. If you see yourself as more of a trader then yes you'll need to keep the currencies on the exchanges so you can actively trade them by reacitng to market conditions.

Myself personally, I take a 50/50 approach. I have my long term holdings which are kept on my hardware wallet & will not be sold whatever the price in the short/mid-term future. This is probably about 66% of my overall portfolio. Then the other 33% is on exchanges & being actively traded on a daily basis.
122  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investment advice on: January 04, 2018, 08:58:54 AM
Everyone has to work out for themselves what kind of personal investment strategy they want to follow, but i'd always suggest a fairly balanced one with a decent percentage (say 50%) in BTC & ETH while the rest in a mixture of altcoins.
123  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will ICO die in 2018? on: January 04, 2018, 08:53:29 AM
ICO's will stick around but will become heavily regulated at some point in 2018 I feel. Waaaay too many scams & poor projects doing ICO's at the moment as it's seen as an easy way to make a huge amount of money quickly.
124  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: bitcoin or ripple ? on: January 04, 2018, 08:47:45 AM
Ripple has surprised me I must say. Not that long ago it was stuck at $0.20 & now its trading over $3. I would never have envisioned that in such a short space of time considering the high circulating supply. So I guess at this point it must be taken seriously, but I still don't foresee it passing Bitcoins market cap.
125  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sell your house for investment in btc. on: January 04, 2018, 08:42:16 AM
Rule number 1 of investing: "Don't invest more than you're willing to lose". So despite the fact this technique could work out amazingly well, it would also be amazingly stupid & reckless.

My ultimate goal is actually to do the exact opposite...eventually sell my bitcoin to buy a house! haha.
126  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin dominance on: January 03, 2018, 11:24:16 AM
Tbh, for a healthy overall market it'd be nice for Bitcoin not to have so move crazy dominance & influence over the overall market. Having said that, I don't see BTC dominance ending anytime soon & expect it to stay in the 30% to 40% range during 2018.
127  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GPLAY -Decentralized P2P Gaming Marketplace⚡POS⚡🚀FREE Airdrops 1/8 🚀 on: January 03, 2018, 11:09:31 AM
I'd been staking my coins the past few months wondering if this project was going to get resurrected or if I was just wasting my time continuing to stake my coins. I was right at the point of giving up & deleting my wallet when I saw new devs had taken over. Great news Smiley Already got my airdrop too!
128  Other / Off-topic / Re: What wallets do you use? on: January 01, 2018, 04:37:39 PM
I predominantly use my Nano Ledger S, as it's a safer option to protect my investments. I do also use MyEtherwallet, especially for storing ERC20 airdrop or bounty tokens. I also use Exodus wallet from time to time, but never hold a significant amount on it.
129  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: OmiseGo on: December 30, 2017, 09:44:31 AM
I'm also anticipating that 2018 will be a huge year for Omisego. I'm planning to increase my holdings over the coming weeks then hold them long term.
130  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor or Ledger? on: December 29, 2017, 03:42:20 PM
I've never used a Trezor so I can't comment on them, but I do own a Nano Ledger S that i'm extremely happy with & highly recommend.
131  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: With how much should i start on: December 29, 2017, 07:02:15 AM
As others have said, there is no specific amount or minimum requirement to get started in investing in crypto. However it is advisable you start small until you've got comfortable with using exchanges to trade & securing your crypto safely. Once you've gianed some experience you can then increase you investment as suits you best. Just do whatever suits you best, but remember rule #1 of crypto investing - Never invest more than you are willing to lose.
132  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Biggest profit from an AirDrop? on: December 27, 2017, 12:09:02 PM
My most profitable airdrop was definitely eBTC, as I managed to sell for about $1100. I'm also sitting on a potentially big profit in BLUE, but I'm holding them for a while yet as I feel the price could potentially go up quite a bit in the next couple of months.
133  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ICO] BlitzPredict [BPZ] Smart Contracts for Prediction Markets on: December 27, 2017, 11:30:57 AM
An interesting project with lots of potential. I wish the devs the best of luck. It's also nice to see the team engaging the community & promptly answering everyone's questions Smiley
134  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to choose the right exchange? on: December 27, 2017, 11:04:46 AM
Just do your research on all the top exchanges & choose the one that suits you best. Personally, I highly recommend using Binance for a multitude of reasons:

1. Great customer service - I've never had an issue using the site but I've witnessed that the staff are highly communicative with the users & attend to anyone's problems really quick. This is quite refreshing for a crypto exchange. I stopped using Poloniex after I had an issue with a withdrawal the took 4 months of constantly following up to finally get my support ticket responded to Sad  You'll never face such issues with Binance.

2. Low fees - Binance trading fees are one of the lowest at only 0.1% & if you use their BNB coin to pay the fees you get a 50% discount so it'll only cost you 0.05%

3. Binance pay GAS - Holders of NEO earn GAS, but in order to claim your GAS you normally need to hold your NEO on you own wallet which you hold the private keys for. BInance is one of the only exchanges which will actually pay you your GAS (calculated on a daily basis & paid out once a month).

4. Binance give you access to forked coins - With all the BTC forks that have been going on, you normally have to keep you BTC off the exchanges to claim, but Binance take a snapshot of your holdings & give you access

5. Quality & Quantity of coins - Binance provide a lot of coins that aren't available anywhere else & they add new coins on an almost daily basis. They have a quite rigorous screening process so they don't just list any old crap either. They often list high quality newly founded coins soon after their ICO's, before many other excanges. In fact, they sometimes host ICO's directly on their own platform, like they recently did with Bread (BRD).

6. Growth & expansion - Binance has only been around 6 months but in that time it has grown to be one of the most popular & widely used exchanges. In fact, at this moment in time it actually ranks as #1 globally for 24hr trading volume: https://coinmarketcap.com/exchanges/volume/24-hour/

7. Ease of use - Binance can be used in mulitple ways: through your web browser, through their downloadable PC client as well as android & IOS mobile apps. They also provide basic & advanced trading views so the user can tailor their user experience to what suits them best.

I actually have a referral code for Binance, so if you're interested in checking it out I'd be really grateful to anyone who decides to use it: https://www.binance.com/?ref=10189628

Oh & if anyone has any questions regarding the exchange, feel free to ask & i'll help however i can Smiley I'm not affiliated with the exchange in any way but i've been using it on a daily basis for 5 months so I know my way around it quite well by this stage Tongue
135  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Mr. John McAfee got step back due to others pressure on him :) on: December 26, 2017, 05:37:33 PM
The cynical part of me likes the fact he announced this change just at the point when the daily announcements were losing their effect to sufficiently pump & dump the coin in question. Moving to a weekly format should have a much bigger effect Tongue
136  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin under 1$ to invest in now? on: December 23, 2017, 09:23:30 AM
Another coin I'd suggest is Blackmoon Crypto (BMC). The ICO was a success & was priced at $1, yet since the ICO it has performed poorly ($0.40 to $0.60 range). It's currently trading at $0.66 &  the circulating supply is only 30 million.

One of the main reasons behind the post-ICO poor performance was just because they didn't have a working product yet & haven't been marketing themselves much while they focused on getting everything ready, but their platform & first funds are due to go live in Q1 2018 which gives the BMC token a use case & should see a decent increase in price.

You can find out more about Blackmoon Crypto here: https://www.blackmooncrypto.com
137  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in 2018 on: December 23, 2017, 09:10:29 AM
I'm predicting 2018 to be a real breakout year for Bitcoin & cryptocurrency as a whole. All that recent talk about 'Bitcoin being in a bubble' was laughable tbh as it has so far to run yet until we we can seriously entertain that idea.
138  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is It Time To Sell. on: December 23, 2017, 07:57:24 AM
The safest decision would probably be to not sell now but take advantage of the discount & buy the dip. This was just a healthy correction & the bull run should pick up again soon.
139  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Etherdelta has bn hacked on: December 23, 2017, 07:52:41 AM
What a mess. I must admit I've never enjoyed the experience of using ED, despite the necessity sometimes due to the coins listed. Luckily I wasn't affected, but hopefully they will now implement sufficient security measures to stop any such hack from happening again.
140  Economy / Speculation / Re: Reason behind Bitcoin Dip (Crash) on: December 22, 2017, 08:35:22 AM
Yeah if you haven't sold out of your positions by now then it's too risky IMO. This is just a much needed market correction & things will pick up really quick at any moment. If you have money to invest, now would actually be a great time pick up some cheap coins. Remember, sell high, buy low Wink
