Which is a safe coin to invest in the long term? How long should I hold it? Is there a risk that I might lose it all? I am a noob in cryptocurrencies. Help.  I was thinking Litecoin, is it a good idea? First of all, investing comes with risks. There will always be possibility to lost your capital. I will suggest you to spilt your $12000 investment into a few coins to diversify the risks. And always do your research before investment. My suggestion is to invest in BTC, ETH and LTC. Good point there. $12000 for me is already a huge amount to invest in just 1 coin. And since there is no assurance, chance of losing is very high. Better split your investment on chosen altcoins. Coinmarketcap will give some ideas on top altcoin which you can invest. There is still no assurance but altcoins listed at the to already built its stability. |

There is no measurements of safety here. That is what should be always bear in mind that there will no assurance here. Once you invest, no one can assure you the profit. We only have hopes for the coins we invest to grow further. That is why investment in crypto is known to be risky because no matter how deep you study in a coin, the risk is always part of the investment.

Yes, ETH can. This will depend on the size of ecosystem that will be able to consolidate ETH or BTC. Maybe Ethereum can but not in 2018 and 2019, maybe somewhere early 2020 but this time it's hard to conclude that Ethereum is capable of beating Bitcoin's price value. There are a lot of Altcoins can like Bitcoin Cash, Segwit2x, Dash, Monero, BitConnect etc. |

I think it can happen, because nothing is impossible inside the crypto, just as ETH costs just $ 400 in a few days to increase to $ 600 and now it's $ 700.
Ethereum has many rivals like LiteCoin, Waves, Monero and other top blockchain coins so Ethereum although has the highest market capital in the group of Altcoins but I really don't think it can surpass the value of Bitcoin. And I think Bitcoin Cash or Segwit2x will do. |

Ethereum has a lot of rivals and people today are using Ethereum not for holding but for converting coins into Bitcoin or the opposite way.
Bitcoin Cash, Segwit2x Dash and other top Altcoins might par Bitcoin's price value but I don't think Ethereum will do buy I'm not sure of the said speculation, maybe time will come not in 2018 but definitely not forever.

I noticed that most low supply coins have a good price and higher supply coins like Billion coins have little price and little increase. I think XRP will increase the price little by little.

I think of course they are promising coins since those you had mentioned are seated as top Altcoins so when you're going to invest one or some of those then you'll be having a good investment for your future. I can't afford those coins so I'm only holding low valued coins but for me it would give me good future hopefully.

McAfee is probably getting paid to hype up different altcoins. He does not care about anybody but himself so I would be very cautious if you're taking his "advice".
He's clearly a double agent, if he's being paid then his investment has doubled or tripled after he's dumping all his investments like pulling out all the money of investors and leave them no choice but to hold. That's the worst thing will happen if people will try to listen his shit concerns. |

John McAfee is a very interesting person. I would say, mysterious. Motives for his actions are probably only known to him. Because it's really hard to understand it.

Mr. John McAfee's robbing money from young investors and that's the fact. There's no good reasons why people should follow his tweets. Buying shit coins in bulk then try to trick the people that the said coins is promising, then he's gonna pull out his money while leaving investor's money when it dropped again and investors have no other choice but to hold and wait to rise up the price again. What a heck! |

Oyster Pearl PRL is the only coin I think that will give me good future hopefully. I got it from a signature bounty campaign so as I watch over the continuous price increase of the said coin it has made me smile because I know that my. Future would be good with Crypto-Currency so I'm gonna hold it as long as I could.
I have been looking into PRL lately, i agree is a good hold. PRL indeed the top gainer of the week as coinmarketcap as reference. It is a good coin with a very good and effective project. I was amazed by the community particularly in Telegram group with over 3.6k members as.of this writing so I believe PRL will be somewhere in the top 100 coins next year.. Hopefully. |

There are actually thousands of coin whose price is under $1, price doesn't matter in crypto if there is huge supply of coin than its price will never get too high for example doge. It is quite old coin but still struggling to get over 1 cent.
Same goes for many other coins and tokens which are high in supply but demand for them is really low.
For me I won't look coins outside the coinmarketcap website because I believe those are really promising and although I know that some of those coins haven't listed yet but I know someday people would realize their importance and value. So, as of now Oyster Pearl will give me good future and I'm gonna invest more if time allows. |

Since more and more people are getting to know about cryptocurrencies, i can't wait to se what will happen in the crypto markets in 2018. I want to talk about coins to hold through out 2018, till December ending. I am not into pump and damp coins.
Below is my list. Tell me which coins under $1 you will hold till the end of 2018. For me personally, I think investing $1000 each into these coins will bring a good ROI. I will want to check this thread next year by this time, so i will include there current prices, just to compare by the end of 2018.
Of course i am not an investment adviser. Full disclosure I hold these coins for a long term.
Cardano (Ada): currently at $0.4
Burst: currently at $0.063
Digibyte: currently at $0.065
Dogecoin: currently at $0.008
Bytecoin: currently at $0.063
Siacoin: currently at $0.028
I heard a lot of noise about Siacoin and Cadano and I'm very anxious about why I waited a long time to invest. And I'm thinking I'm gonna invest a portion of my salary instead of saving it. Cadano ADA and Siacoin is the top on my list to be the next coins to get for a long time investment. |

The impact of Christmas and holiday on the special currency market is very small. I think this Christmas will stabilize at the present price. After Christmas, bitcoin will continue its strong trend.
I agree with you since not all have the same move this holiday season. Some may sell parts of their bitcoins to add their budget for gifts. Some may also buy from the bonuses, 13th month pay and from the cash gifts they also received. It may affect but it will not be felt that much. |

I think, Christmas or not, every step we make in bitcoin will somehow affect the price. Many are now probably making their own steps to buy the gifts they will be sending to their loved ones and one way to buy as many gifts as you can, they will tend to sell their bitcoins for cash. Some may have received bonuses and their 13th month pay or probably also received cash gifts from others, they will probably also buy some bitcoins.

I think it is better to look at the coinmarketcap to keep updated and to help you judge on which altcoins to hold since there is a lot of altcoins are coming out. I see a lot of potential on the top altcoins. But nothing beats the bitcoin. Always keep on track to avoid making a crap decision.
