What forms of payment will you accept for the full payment on the reel?
123  Economy / Auctions / Re: Auction of 2nd most expensive Pizza in history of Bitcoin on: October 08, 2013, 05:43:58 AM
This auction is still going ahead

There is no minimum price

Current highest bid is 101BTC

Auction finishes 11.59.59 AM GMT ie. in about 30h 30mins

Great. Thanks for your response.

Thinking it might be good to have a countdown. Let me know if this one is accurate:

Timer removed. End time: 2013-10-09+11:59:59GMT

Ok, so just to be perfectly clear, would be good to get answers to these questions:

Is this auction is still going ahead?

Is there a minimum price?

Current highest bid is 45BTC?

The auction finishes in 20 hrs from right now?

Punin, can you please answer these questions ASAP.

Cheers

Hey all.

Ok, i'll port over any bits of crucial information that happened over on the other forum so that everything is updated here.

Regarding the two questions above. The double scroll is a hub into which you can plug two miniplanes, with this you will only need one ATX power supply and one USB connector to run 8 boards. So yes, the ATX connector powers the boards, no need for plugging in individual power to each board. The power for the boards is 5V. Effectively this means 8 boards becomes one miner. Without the double scroll, 8 boards is two miners. Yes i guess you could get someone in China to make a power splitter for you but i can't really comment on this and don't specifically recommend it, but by all means, if you can get that done, go for it.

Will bring across other updates soon.

Barntech

Are the miniplanes and doublescrolls pulling power from the 12v rail and supplying the 5v power needed for each board?  If so all of my questions are answered and we are golden.  heh..

The problem I'm worried about is if the miniplanes and doublescrolls are pulling power exclusively from the 5v rail.  We are going to run into some power issues if that is the case.

Thanks!

Chad

The power will be coming purely from the 5v. Adding covertors to step from 12v to 5v is also possible. Something like this:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/270863166827?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649

Should be plenty for a full miniplane, potentially enough for a double scroll too, though you may need up to 50A for that. I've asked Dan our main hardware guy to send me through some real solid details on the power sitch and i'll post them here once i have them.

I just posted this over on the other forum:

The power for the 8 board is 25-30W. The full miniplane is ~100-120W. The full double scroll is about 250W or thereabouts, about the 5V section of a standard 500-600W power supply. If only running one miniplane, almost any small computer PSU should handle it. Id put it at about 5V, 25A for a miniplane. 450W is the cheapo power supply that can be gotten anywhere, this should be OK as long as the 5V does 25A or more.

Dan is saying that any mid sized power supply with an ATX should do the job.

Hope that helps. I'll post more as soon as i know.

OK,

So i've been going through the orders for Batch one. I've done a wee spot of color coding on the list. I'll paste it here but please check the front page for the master list that will continue to be updated. Basically if your name is green, you are fully paid and ready to go. Hooray! If your name is black, you still need to pay for Shipping or Assembly or both. Please contact me! If i don't have your forum name matched to your real name, i have entered initials for your spot in the queue.

If you guys can please stay on top of this ans sort out the remaining payments that will save me from having to write to everyone individually and that would be totally awesome!! Have a look, if your name is black and you know what you still need to pay, go ahead and pay it. If you are unsure, or you have paid and i have made a mistake, write to me and let me know.

Once you have paid, send me an email at drillbitsystem@gmail.com with the details.

Payments details are:

BTC, pay to 1AF1WmU9Ut2CMuMJWgeBiXb2LMCd6x1GYA.

Paypal, pay to jessericketson@gmail.com

Thank all.!!  Grin

Please, not the dreaded "two weeks" again...  Grin

Bahahaha. Yeah, let's just say "soon"... some weeks, in a bit, a jiffy, before you know it!  Cheesy

Send out the good vibes people!

Here are some good vibes for you:
I'm going to order my powersupply, fans and such!
And tell my girlfriend where my miner is going to be on our shelf!  Grin   (Yes, where visitors can see it. So feel free to send along a nice "trophy" of an advertisement.)  Grin

Speaking of which, Barntech (or anyone), do you know which fan would be better for a 4 board setup?
Scythe Gentle Typhoon Fan (120mmX120mm) - 850, 1450 or 1850 rpm???
I'll be going with the Cooler Master V450S 450w power supply. Incredible efficiency for the lower watt range.

GO DRILLBIT!!!

Thanks,
IAS

Yeah, that's the spirit. Nice one IAS. I think prime position right on your shelf is just the spot for it! ... How's your girlfriend doing? She gonna be OK?  Wink Cheesy

As for which fan to get, i'm not really sure. Part of me wants to say get the fastest, biggest, best 1850 all the way baby, but maybe that's overkill, i don't know. Is noise an issue? Its a bit louder, but not that much. It'll certainly be quieter than the standup room fan i have cooling my GPUs (yes they're still running, i know its stupid and they cost much more to run than they make, but i just can't bring myself to turn them off! ... I guess i will once the Drillbits are in!  Grin). I'm sure a medium one would do just fine, but hey its only a couple bucks and a couple dbs!

And nice PSU choice. You could probably get away with a cheaper one, but that one looks nice.

I sent an email to Megabigpower and they replied quite quickly actually (Yvonne Paull) and she said:
"We expect to begin shipping reels near the end of next week. You will receive an email when your order is ready to ship."

So, thanks for the quick reply Megabigower. I hope our reel is included in that. (The end of next week is around Oct 10/11th).

IAS

Yep.

Got an email back from Dave saying that we should be getting chips within two weeks. Hoorah!  Grin Grin

This is supposed to be an auction for a reel of chips right? I am quite excited to watch its progress.

Papamoi, i'm sure you could start a rather interesting discussion thread on the ethics of making profit by selling people things they want, but here is not the place for it.

I agree that the prices are high, but then that's why this auction is so interesting as it will give some kind of indication as to what the market is willing to pay.

Punin, i wish you the best of luck in the auction and hey, if the price is right, i'll throw in a bid. Let's see what happens.

Hey BarnTech

Is paypal not an option anymore for Batch 2? I have been trying to use the minersource link since lastnight, but it just comes up with a page not found error. The rest of that website seems to be working though. I'm sure it was working ok just 2-3 days ago, but not anymore.

Thanks
Paypal is no longer an option as mentioned already in this thread. Paypal wont take any more money until  after hardware is actually shipping. So anymore Paypal pre-orders are out of the question.

This is not the case. Paypal via third party for Batch 2 is still an option. Looking into why the page is down now.

Paypal is still an option for Batch 2. The paypal that is frozen is ours which is why we are doing paypal for batch 2 through the third party... but you are right, the minersource page is not working. I will look into it now. Stay tuned

Is 'Jesse' legit? He/she has answered a couple of my PMs. Just checking, to be on the safe side.

Hey Stinky.

I am a he (not many females in bitcoin land alas, would be nice if there were more Wink) and yes i'm legit.

I am verified by John. K here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=266235.msg2917573#msg2917573

And i think most members of this group will vouch for my "legit-ness" having been in ongoing dialogue with me for a couple months now.

If you are interested in knowing any other details, or if there is anything else i can tell you that will help ease your mind, let me know.

Cheers Grin

did i miss somewhere local shipping costs. Am waiting to pay.  Wink

I would also be interested in more batch 1 boards however would like to see proto hashing first.

Sorry, haven't got AUS prices on there. I'll get on that. Just PM'd you.  Smiley
139  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN] - GROUP BUY of BITFURY Chips + DRILLBIT SYSTEM mining assembly on: October 02, 2013, 06:17:20 AM
i have a question

like on backplane you can have 4 boards attached which is similar to the other system that dave is selling but this is on a smaller scale

will it be the same to hash different pool or different coin on each board or all has to be hashing the same coin same pool?

You should be able to select individual ASIC devices in the cgminer config file or launch settings, same as with GPU mining. *Might* require the use of individual USB cables to each board though?

Yes. If you attach all the boards via one USB, the Atmel chip on the first board will distribute the nonce data to all the chips on all the boards in one big string. If you want to run different boards in different pools you will need to attach them individually each with its own USB connection. From there you can assign each of them as you like in Cgminer.
140  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN] - GROUP BUY of BITFURY Chips + DRILLBIT SYSTEM mining assembly on: October 02, 2013, 06:12:52 AM

That does look very nice, but its a shame about the chips, considering that bfsb and mbp are now starting to ship and hence chips MUST have been around for a little while.  Still, its only the 2nd day of October and I'm sure he'll be in touch.

Surely he wouldn't withold chips to ensure his own products get out there first???!??

I wouldn't be so sure, but let's hope not. As you say, its only day 2 of October, so we should give the benefit of the doubt and assume we'll be getting exciting news any day now. Put out the positive chip vibes everyone!  Shocked
