In the end we have decided to open up to allow PayPal payments as well. The main reason for this was to allow people to enter the market. Rather than to only cater for people who have managed to trade or mine the appropriate amount of coins already.

Why did they stop accepting PayPal/CC? Having a payment method with some consumer protection was nice while it lasted.

protecting from what? didn't they proofed that they are trustful! also paypal/cc are always stated as the bad boys compared to bitcoin!

No, but I did find with my 4 VRM one that putting the volts up too much turned the core off like your Die 2 is showing.

Is that what your trying to do? Get Die 2 up and running?
yep this is what i am trying. it would be very nice if you could share your settings.

Hmm, I'd reset it all to default, what are your individual die voltages at default? Mine are -0.1121V on all dies. You can get it back to defaults by hitting "Reset to Factory Defaults"

Then just increase ASIC1 - Die2 by 0.01V increments till you get to 0 leaving it for a few minutes at a time. I didn't have a completely dead die, well I didn't when I started, but I stopped a few dies by overvolting them, but got them back by putting it back to defaults and being more cautious.

It takes time, I had putty open in the screen session watching for cores disabling and bertmod in one browser to confirm what die the core disabled, then I would tweak the voltage on that die little bit by little bit until it came back on again. Then the waiting game for more dies to turn off, etc etc.

Similar patience is needed when overclocking CPU/GPU/Memory for benchmarking. A PITA to do while its happening, but very satisfying when you get it working.

Of course you may just have a terminally faulty module, which you will have to RMA  Sad
i think this board needs a RMA Sad. this are the default values:

my two other modules looks like the second on the picture.

was someone able to to tune a 8vrm module? it just won't work! Sad tried spi 3.2 and them from down to up, tried default with voltage up and nothing.  Undecided

neptune wil be released in Q1/Q2 2014 and a Jupiter would be available immediatley!
130  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: December 01, 2013, 03:30:16 AM
Is there a thread listing 20nm orders, like AFox's thread of October orders before?

I feel pretty proud to have secured a Neptune 6 hours after they were announced. Grin Checked KnC's shop now, and they are no longer listed.

Before that I cancelled a November Jupiter, which I consider to be a good move, and I missed out on an upgrade unit for my Saturn, which in retrospect seems to be a lucky turn of events.

We'll see if Neputunes turn out to be as profitable as October 28nm units, but at this moment KnC is the only larger company that feel positive about.

Nothing special really, just a ivy bridge celeron and a z77 mobo with 7 pcie slots. The mobo is a z77a-gd65, but a cheaper z77a-gd44 (i think?) works with 6 cards... Has to be ivy or 6 won't work. There's 3500W of power under my rig now, but two of the supplies are cheap 1000W'ers. They run 6 7950's at 1.125V, but not 6 280x cards at any voltage. I use a EVGA 1500W to supplement the other two supplies. I ordered 1300W and 1000W evga power supplies, one will power the mobo and 3 cards, and the other will power three cards alone. Ought to be plenty of headroom, I expect 275W from each card.

The rig is running xubuntu, as I wasn't able to figure out how to get 6 280x cards running in W8. You have to use the beta 3.11 drivers for Cgminer to "see" these cards, they show up as 7900 series with old drivers but won't ever mine.
Anyway, 3.11 beta drivers from AMDs site work pretty well. I did a bunch of reading on the net, and these settings are the best mixture of what I was able to find. I should say that these settings might be completely useless to you, but they should be a starting point. These cards all act different, I'm starting to think any results otherwise are just gamblers fallacy! Either way, I won't charge you 1 BTC for my config because I'm not that much of a douche  Wink

You will need to tweak the GPU clock speed for each card, most of mine are somewhere between 1025 and 1045.

I can lower the fan speed to 80% and still maintain ~75 degrees. I've got some work left to do with ducting and more permanent fan mounting.
thank you very much! i think i will try to copy your setup a bit as it seems to be very nice  Grin. i have ordered yesterday a rig from open openrigs.com and i will order this stuff:

4x Sapphire 11221-00-20G Dual-X amzn.to/1dIoFTp
1x Gigabyte GA-Z77X-D3H amzn.to/1fUdzL9
1x Intel BX80637G1610 Celeron Dual-Core Prozessor (2x 2,6GHz, Sockel 1155, 2MB Cache, 55 Watt) amzn.to/1fUdAyT
1x Corsair 4GB DDR3 1333 MHz amzn.to/1b4NSnv
1x Corsair AX 1200(i) amzn.to/183tRP5

I have somewhere an old 32GB SSD drive or I am thinking about a 16GB USB3.0 stick. I will also add 2x R9 280x and 1x Corsair 1200w later. But still thinking if these PSUs are the right decision. When everything arrives and I start mining LTC i will make some pics. I will also contact you to send you some LTC for your help!

@Bitcoinorama, when will be tuning suite/new firmware release?

@Bitcoinorama, any news on the tuning software? Really curious if it has the potential of fixing die #0 issues without insane temps.

Ok I've literally just tried to tie down a confirmed date. Current indication from the engineers I spoke to is tomorrow. That's based on them testing it, they are happy with the values you can set, but the lead software engineer on that piece of software is not around currently so I won't be held to anything definite. I'm unlikely to see him until tomorrow. So for all intents and purposes all the guys present today are happy with it. Wink

140  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: KNC 20nm Speed speculation and will it ROI on: November 27, 2013, 02:39:10 AM
we are at ~5PH now and diff will be 690Mio -> http://bitcoindifficulty.com/

just add the PH from KnC November Batch + HashFast and Cointerra till May. i think we will reach a diff around 2000Mio when KnC will deliver the neptunes. and at this diff 3TH will mine around 0,78BTC/day. lets think even worst, with a diff at 6000Mio you will earn 0,26BTC/day. i hope i have done no mistake. i appreciate every other opinion.
