90% of those who replied in this topic are not equal to 90% users on this forum.

“How many money do you have?” is just a very strange question to ask, it is not surprising that most of real bitcoin holders will simply ignore this topic.

Thank you very much!

Problem solved!

I just deleted all the ~/Library Application Support/Namecoin stuff created by namecoind, then put wallet.dat from backup there, rebooted and started Namecoin-Qt. Now it’s redownloading the blockchain which I suppose will take some time, but it shows my namecoins correctly.

Done.
124  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: HELP!!!!! Premining HELL - Need HELP!!! on: July 14, 2013, 05:34:53 PM
So much yammering about stupid miners being against premining and absolutely no ideas about how this new coin is going to be a BitCoin or PPCoin killer (or Litecoin killer, I am just personally prejudiced against Litecoin).

So far it’s an absolutely shallow idea — coin for the miners. That means no one will use it for business and it will never gain any real value.

So I believe it is better to consider first, what new creative principles will make the coin attractive for businesses in the future. And how much of the premine it is going to worth. So far it is worthless even with 0% premine.

Like the guy who makes eMunie for example, at least he started with an original codebase and some innovative ideas, and the community agreed to have premine.

3.64 crashes on load under OS X 10.8.4.

not the oldest, either beercoin or namecoin is the oldest, but LTC is never the less, the best

Namecoin also has a nice idea underneath, but unfortunately does not seem to develop that actively.

I really don’t see why all devs want so much to premine. Satoshi did not premine, neither did Sunny King or any other decent coin developers.

By starting a new coin anyway you have an advantage of early adoption, and even if you start mining simultaneously with others, you can get yourself a solid sum pretty quickly, isn’t it? Is it really necessary to be greedier than Satoshi?

Try -S /dev/cu.SLAB_USBtoUART, it worked for me.

Sure, if you are willing to wait more than 10+ days for delivery, it can cost 0.7 btc. I quoted express as I assume people want to start mining ASAP, rather than lose 10 days of low difficulty mining. But what do you know.

With a price like that there is really no difference whether you start mining now or in 10 days Smiley You never return investment anyway.

Could you clarify what Bitcoin issues does PPC solve? I do not fully understand how PPC is so different from other Altcoins.

As far as I understand, PoS means that in order to make a 51% attack, an attacker should not only possess 51% of the mining power but also have the 51% minting stakes power, which is much harder to accumulate because one has to hold the most of coins for as long as the network exists, which removes the requirement of keeping a large distributed mining network, making PPC very energy efficient in the long run.

My alias is mnyonpa just as a username here.

I’d say I loved SatoshiCircle because unlike other casinos it gives a warm and clear feeling, and not a feeling of scam awaiting you round the corner. Warm because the design is very minimalistic yet modern, and clear because you can check all the underlying math. I would say that in this regard SatoshiCircle is very similar to the spirit of Bitcoin itself, hence it can stand up to its name.

Could you please update the profit calculations for 21% and more difficulty growth?

Or maybe someone can recommend a good calculator that allows both to account for difficulty growth and delay in mining start?
137  Other / Off-topic / Re: [SELL] USB Eruptor based miner - 3+ GH/s on: July 13, 2013, 02:05:16 AM
9*0.33 MH/s erupters are 2.97 GH/s that is NOT 3+ GH/s, rather 3- GH/s.

9 erupters will cost around BTC9, plus the fan and the hub for BTC3? For a device that never ROIs?

I am sorry I do not understand this joke.
138  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I'm interested in mining for profit. Are these numbers even remotely feasible? on: July 13, 2013, 02:01:20 AM
According to my calculations and research, I could be mining 900+ bitcoins a month with a 100,000 usd investment.

Are you sure it is 900 bitcoins a month and not 900 bitcoins 1st month, 360 bitcoins 2nd month, 144 bitcoins 3rd month, etc. given that the difficulty goes up 20% every 10 days?
139  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which Alt Coin you like best on: July 13, 2013, 01:16:25 AM
PPC. For having real creative thought underneath that solves important bitcoin issues.

Unlike simple number and algorithm tweaking plagiarism such as LTC and most other coins.

Друзья, а можно wallet.dat от официального клиента как-нибудь скормить другому клиенту и одновременно использовать два клиента с одним кошельком?
