no where does it ask for your name or address, you can register with any email... there's no confirmation required or you can just make an email specifically for this

i always use a vpn so no issue with ip address and devs have been strongly suggesting to everyone that they use one too if they feel insecure

any other coin that i've seen that uses escrows simply launches the main net and says thanks for the bitcoin and the escrows essentially amount to being fuck all useful for anything look at Waves for a example... it's a bit ridiculous that they get access to that entire sum of bitcoin just for launching a network, even scam projects can at least do that much

given their transparency about how the funds are being released if the 20% premine bothers you so much, why not make it a concern of yours to ask them to have the escrows hold it? or to have them hold it on a public address? or something that ensures them not dumping it on the market

while kodi/tvaddons and pure vidz might be similar they work entirely differently, this project at the end of the day is re-inventing the wheel for torrents while stripping out what makes torrents actually worth while using

but again, lets keep talking about pure vidz and my other investments rather than tackle the issues about this project i've presented because hey, the dev developed a SUPER SECRET otp implementation and has been around for 2 years and therefore is trust worthy to not stick something malicious in his closed source program! xD

while u can claim all u want that "oh people are aware it's closed source" that's absolute bullshit because most people on these forums don't have the due diligence or tech literacy to actually test compiling a wallet themselves.

people on VTR seem to think that attacking me or my investments some how makes their argument about this real issue that I'm raising to be more valid but it's quite the opposite, it's a logical fallacy since you can't actually address the argument you attack the one presenting it.

I'd like to point out that when I raised the issue of it being closed source I never even mentioned pure vidz any further, it was people in the VTR thread who kept bringing up pure vidz as if it had anything to do with the way their operation works

I'm not sure how I'm trolling but it's ok, I understand you like many on bitcointalk are programming illiterate and only care about reaping the fruits of roi or using the technology itself rather than the risks you put yourself at by using it. It doesn't matter if the core code has been audited because if I want to use a wallet with two factor, that means I need to run an executable that I can't personally audit myself and that spells trouble in plenty of ways.

The dev not being malicious of the bat isn't a good argument either. How does it not make sense that for example you build up a credible rep over x years simply to then sabotage it. The same thing happened on these forums when a well known escrow sold his account years back and plenty of people then suffered scam losses because of this or did you forget that?

How is their website shady? You don't need to download anything. I don't need to download the wallet, invest or register to use their software or product, it's all free. BUT more important, it's a fucking website not a program i'm running on my computer so there's no real risk in me using it to stream content that i'm not downloading hence I don't need to audit shit to know it's safe. There are websites you can use that archive bitcoin talk and since I have invested in pure vidz I definitely keep an eye on that thread quite often like others, an i haven't seen anything deleted. Perhaps there's something i over looked but there's been no major censorship, please if there has been bring it to the other investors attentions, make an unmoderated thread and post the screenshots of these deleted posts so we can all do our due dilligence

if pure vidz releases a wallet and says sorry guys it's closed source don't doubt for a minute i won't call them out on that shit either

just wanted to point out the double standard here, u have this problem with joy stream but for all you know the next time VTR puts out a closed source release it's coming with a root kit and you'll have a lot more to worry about then shit you just listed... now while this likely won't happen the fact remains that it's a very valid reality given the nature of the project

users should NOT have to blindly trust the dev and run code they can't audit themselves
