I heard a rumor.... and I do not know how this will affect bitcoin. Apparently there is ALOT of conversation about the Chinese government shutting down the manufacturing of mining equipment. Especially in the last 2 days there has been a lot of chatter. This seems consistent with bitmain wanting to move to Canada and the release of old stock as something new? and so many different ones all in a short period of time.
Not sure how real this is, but wondering what your thoughts are on how it will affect BTC and mining if it does become true?

Finally nicehash paid me my new wallet balance, and only 10 % of the stolen funds from before, so I FINNALLY got a chance to consolidate my wallet. I picked the El Cheapo fee... lets see how long this takes.
Cost me .00052 which is like 5 bux.. BUT HAPPY TO SUPPORT THE MINING POOL - that confirms my block!
EDIT: took about 45 minutes to confirm. Fees must be really low if they scraped up my transaction from the bottom!

Ahh but the 30 seconds of relative silence i got while the two in my office rebooted was.... like beautiful. I have not heard that silence since Nov 21, 2017.. when I first plugged it in and went OMFG!!!! I cant stand it!
Its in a box now ith another one, sound proofed a little. So its not as bad. Its like one pf them LOUD IBM servers I used to have. I just put everyone on speakerphone that calls me, and they get to experience it too!!!

Ahh, I don't know why.. but I am going to reboot my 7 S9's. I did that before, and then the pool found a block.. I Know... its useless step, but I have a hunch...
Some have been up for 29 days.
I will sacrifice my .00001% of shares for this... then you will see a block will be busted!
I rebooted mine earlier today for the same reason! Might help, There might be some bad firmware issue that no one has found, and long uptimes cause. I was more worried about Kano actually working out the math on 5 minutes of 7 S9's and the share value not being .00001% :-) I just threw a number out... No need to calculate it - I know you love math... :-) haha Well actually  (no not the maths) When you reboot a miner it gets a new unique number that's in the coinbase sig as I mentioned in that long post. So it does actually change your hash results Of course it's random ... but it does change it. So, in theory, the newly generated hash might be what ends up solving a block? maybe the old one is worn out... :-) Its like playing the same lottery numbers over and over again? but I just changed the lotto numbers? |

What my wife said after watching the video "I don't think the cables and adapters will hold up. Mineral oil dissolves a lot of things it touches. Maybe the metal will hold up, but I don't know about the plastic. Plus, the oil may get gummy as small particles start to mix with it. Think about putting horses' manes & tails up. Mineral oil dissolves the rubber bands within a few days." Uh she's always right... she might be... after all mineral oil is petroleum based, and I can see that may interact with petroleum based plastic connectors and wires.... DOH I hate it when your wife is right! Maybe just submerge it up to the point just to the top of the hash boards and not any higher. Not even the control board since that doesnt make any noise. Use the fans from the antminers to blow air thorugh the radiator, ( With quieter ones anayways) that way the control board still sees a fan is spinning. If you notice on the last part of that video, only one fan is at 240 rpm, and all others are at 0rpm. AAnd we do not know if he actually logged into that particular S9 on his network... Is a good idea to fry a bunch and make the global hasrate less... |
