A short update on recent product activity:

The T9+'s purchased/paid for 2 days ago are now shipping.    I was surprised a bit by the faster-than-expected turnaround time considering the source.

The T9's are still in stock if you can tolerate a unit with better reliability albeit a lower hashrate per kw than the S9 (although I bought more of those as well - but they won't ship until March).

Phew, ok thanks guys Smiley In other news, I will need to shut down miners for a week starting Saturday night Sad Going away on holidays and can't really leave them running without keeping an eye on them. As I understand it, my ramp will at least keep for a few days? Is it the same time to ramp down? So if I rejoin when I get back in a week I will need to contribute for another 5-7 days to ramp back up to full?

This is another reason I chose to have my miners hosted at a data center that specializes in bitcoin miners.  Not only is it cheaper to host than it was trying to run them at my house, I also have no noise or cooling issues.  When I go on long trips, I know my miners are well cared for! Cheesy

Of course, when I first started considering a hosting service rack space was a lot easier to find.

I gotta agree, Sonny...and this board was the place where i learned about the best place (for me).

Sad right now that everyone is at capacity.  I'd replace my three S7s up there with 821s...if I could afford them. Sheesh.

To infinity and beyond...on two 741s and one of only 3...nope, make that 4...full nodes in Hawaii...on <30A. (I have other gear on the Hoth ice planet)

Thanks Smiley I have a camera set up but leaving the country so not all that keen on not having them a short distance away. Never know when a fan will fail, mouse will gnaw a cable, or something else Wink

All depends on the hashrate of the pool. It the hashrate was lower on your ramp up than it is on the ramp down, you will ramp down quicker. But yes, you will need to ramp back up. I have no problems leaving mine running with remote access so maybe look into how you can do that and leave your rigs up and hashing.

6 Mouse traps around miner and PSU,  If fan fails, which is unlikely, S9 will just stop hashing,  or you can get a buddy to check in on it,  Awesome miner I believe lets you set up notifications for 1 device for free?  Then call your buddy and say, hey can you unplug it if anything goes wrong.

FYI Mice will probably stay out of the area the S9 is in, its way too loud.  I know what I feel like when I enter the garage with 5 in there, its worse than the two in my office.  I just want to leave as well.! :-0)

There's no projections on the Block page.
It just shows found blocks - so yep - when we find a block Smiley

So let's find one in the next hour or two! We need a good weekend. Long blocks are painful, but a fact of mining.

Unfortunately with the increase in global hash rate, they hurt even more now.

But wait.. in the monthly statistics for Feb (which isn't there) it shows expected, etc?

That's what I was referencing.  Would the Blocks be 0, expected be x, blah, blah

Bitmain still has T9+ in stock as well. $2008 USD

I Have no BCH, however. I would gladly get rid of these A6's and S7's for some T9's

No, the expected value is based on the shares submitted to the pool.

500% Diff is expected to find, on average, 5 blocks.

So for December, we found 10 blocks, with a pretty small amount more work than expected: 10.02 blocks worth of work - or 100.24% of the expected work.

Edit: although we are indeed 0, the table only shows data for found blocks.

Are you saying that we will see the final data for January ONLY when we will see the first block in February OR that the current posted data for January IS already final. If it is not final, maybe explain why not? Thanks.

Only thing besides the fact that they're more reliable than the S9 and ship within 10 days is that they're inefficient and have less chips than the old T9 (lower hashrate), making them a questionable buy even if you had enough BCH to purchase them. I'd hold off on buying miners for now.

I don't know too much about them other than what is advertised. Inefficient in what way, consistency or power wise?

I was going to wait and see what popped up on Ebay with the BTC price dropping and I'm sure plenty of folk panicking. I was wondering if either the S9's will be dropping in price with people trying to get out OR if the price goes up while the S7's continue to drop while people look for more efficient mining gear. It is interesting either way. That bullshit Tea company apparently canceled 1000 S9's too so we'll see what happens with those haha.

S9 too loud?

You try it first and let me know... then I can quiet my 7 down...   :-)

I do not think the gravel is neccisary but, maybe it helps.

YES! We may actually give this a try when our room gets too hot and noisy. We have 17 machines and more coming. The room is only going to get noisier and warmer, so the mineral oil method we were thinking of employing......but also because of the neat factor.

We normally deal with automatic transmissions, so the plumbing and cooling of electro-hydraulic control modules is not TOO foreign as many late model transmissions have the TCM inside and submerged in oil.

If/when we get something built, I will be sure to add some pics  Grin

The monthly blocks table is for blocks found in the month.
We won't find any more in January - so it's final.
