121  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: New app on GitHub lets you work from anywhere and get paid in Bitcoin on: March 15, 2016, 09:28:54 PM
Yeah i understand, it's almost text files to be translated, but i read the requirments and it says that it is needed a 21 computer which seems to cost around ~400 at the moment of writing. Sad

I just double checked and no, they say they just messed with a 21 computer but it can run on any server and people can issue bounties from any hardware. I will try to setup a vps and test this tho. Posting source just for reference removed link by OP ...or not lol...i dont think that link is allowed here  Tongue
122  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: New app on GitHub lets you work from anywhere and get paid in Bitcoin on: March 15, 2016, 09:13:55 PM
I see that there are 11 pull request which most of them are only translation, if it needs to be translated to another language for only 23k satoshi i think it does not worth, also it requires $400 investment on the 21 Bitcoin Computer.

I dunno really the status of that project, i guess it is brand new (i saw it on r a few minutes ago). Translation was just the index.html page indeed and took me 10 minutes from my ubuntu box (you dont need a 21 Computer to work on git)

Sharing something cool i found on r/bitcoin (source https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/4aj323/new_app_on_github_lets_you_work_from_anywhere_and/). I've already posted my first pull request (just translation to my native language lol) and i'm currently bounting 23k satoshi
I find it cooooool!
124  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Cryptopay Bitcoin Debit card + Giveaway on: March 15, 2016, 03:38:31 PM
Thank you i just ordered the card using your promo code and everything run smooth. I will start to use is soon as i receive it and will surely write some reviews here. Question: i see there is SEPA option to receive funds. Is there an option to SEND funds to an EU IBAN using SEPA from the cryptopay account?
125  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: What are miners doing with their profits? on: March 15, 2016, 09:02:17 AM
"We" the miners are reinvesting 100% of profits on hash power, after tax, bills, salary etc.
The importance of progressive, exponential hash rising due to profit reinvestment is too attractive for any miner...
126  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Here’s How I Would Bring Down Bitcoin on: March 14, 2016, 10:12:12 PM
What I'm only uncertain of currently is, who's exactly behind the campaign.

The easiest answer: who is their target? By knowing the target you know the attacker. I have some clues, do you? Smiley

I'm pretty sure, tho, the real who-vs-who is actually at higher level than those...
127  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Cryptopay Bitcoin Debit card + Giveaway on: March 14, 2016, 05:01:46 PM
Hi im using xapo and bit-x debit card. I'd like to try your card and eventually write a review/compare. Are there promo codes still available? Thank you.
128  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to motivate women to use Bitcoin? on: March 13, 2016, 06:09:41 PM
Well i involved my wife with this simple trick: i have fiat income and i invest a certain part of it in mining and other bit-things. I shown her the extra income i get and i thaught her to use that extra money from my bitcoin credit card. You know what? When the fiat balance is almost over, i start to hear questions like "oh love...do you have any on that black card...?" (betta the answer is ALWAYS a "yes" ...just saying) Grin
Jokes apart, not all women are interested in tech things like criptocurrency and such (same is valid for men tho), so i can safely say that ALL women are interested on the money they can make with cryptocurrencies but you have to find the kind of woman interested in programming, technology, computer, cryptoworlds etc etc, in order to make her an ACTIVE member of the crypto-community.
It gives me an idea tho: how many girls are there on this forum? Let's start a poll! Here the new thread > https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1397230.0
129  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A Bitcoined Sunday on: March 13, 2016, 05:54:37 PM
... what mobile app dp you use?

actually i using xapo wallet with xapo debit card connected to it. I also use the bit-x and yeah...SEPA feature would be great there. I know there are some traditional debit card with an IBAN included.
130  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A Bitcoined Sunday on: March 13, 2016, 03:58:23 PM
Tl;dr; Banks are bad and you are slowly making a return on your investments. Did I understand this correctly?

Right yo! I woudnt call a 10% monthly a "slow ROI" tho. I dont think any fiat investment can give you such a ROI actually. About banks being bad....my mom says i been bad to banks indeed Grin

It is unfortunate that one is still unable to easily use some alternative system (e.g. cryptocurrency) to completely avoid using banks (without it being a huge inconvenience).

Yep! Look my previous reply, lack of an IBAN connected to a BTC wallet and/or BTC debit card is the only missing part (at least for EU people. If i had such a feature say with xapo, bit-x, e-coin i could be able to completely "disconnect" myself from traditional bank.

Come on it is like "i'm living on a completely different economic sys" doesnt feel good? Kinda on another planet....lol, i'm proud tho!
131  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A Bitcoined Sunday on: March 13, 2016, 03:49:52 PM
the main question is do you still hold some funds at the bank?

Noooope! Grin the only funds i still manage are the ones SEPA is mandatory (some bills, paycheck etc etc) i wish we could ALREADY have an IBAN connected to a Bitcoin card/wallet etc.  Angry

Well the hyip at altcoin is happening alld days ,soo no one can complaint since all wanna to make that happen and be able to profit along it.

Tx bud i needed some comfort about that...i feel less guilty now  Wink

So i feel like a conqueror. Old days when i was shy to talk to my bank's employers make me laugh. Looking at how i was: always greedy and suspicious about the 0,00000001% of increased interest on my bank account and always wondering how to speculate the next 0,0000000000000001%. I do remember days i felt so much relief on fridays: my bank woudnt call me during the week end and finally i would take some psycho-break from their daily harrasment. I do remember days when paper receipt at ATM was investigated like a terrorist letter, checking my last 3 balances to see if they matched (thinking the ATM could be a liar  Roll Eyes).
How i feel today: my interests are now around 5% monthly on my slow investments, about 10% monthly from mining and 30% coming from some HYIPES (yes...you allowed to scold me for doing that  Tongue). Last login at my homebanking was on 29th of february 2pm (geez....im looking forward to login there every 4 years lol) and wow...i dont think my bank ever called me in the past 3 months, i think last i heard from them was at xmas when they gave me a shiny brand new 2016 calendar. I'm contributing to save the planet: no more ATM's paper receipt as i check my bitcoin balance directly from my phone (i admit tho...imma a bit addicted to that APP).
Such a shiny Bitcoined Sunday morning!

PS: mom just called and asked my advice about a new bond her bank is issueing: 1,9% yearly if she locks funds for 2 years! I said: "mom...love you too!"
133  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Official Xapo Service Discussion on: March 12, 2016, 06:38:44 PM
The real number would be what's the rate Xapo uses to convert BTC to USD...fees by themselves are not that intimidating but if they exchange your BTC to USD with a $380 value then we are in trouble hehe.

That transaction rate was 1BTC=370.80 EUR (about 414USD), pretty fair.
Check bit-x too and see if they have better fees/rates
134  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Official Xapo Service Discussion on: March 12, 2016, 04:46:16 PM
Really? that is amazing news, I'll order a debit card soon and try it. I don't understand why people insist on selling Bitcoins for Paypal elsewhere if this is a viable and secure option...

There are a lot of reasons why some people buy using LB and others prefere debit cards. Do your own math about fees tho and beware of that: if you send money tru paypal to a family or friend using your xapo debit card as funding backup, you will have to pay xapo fee+paypal fee.
Just do your own considerations pondering all sides: trustwhorty, security, fees etc etc  Wink

Alright, yes of course but selling Bitcoins in LB for Paypal you don't only have the scam risk but also the fees are very high (specially for verified/trusted traders). As you had experience with this, suppose I have 1 BTC in my debit card and one to fund Paypal, at the current price how much ends up in my Paypal wallet?

Well, this is a transaction i did last night 11.34pm UTC: i sent 140USD marked as family/friend. Paypal balance was zero so totally funded with debit card. I got 5.73 USD fee on xapo and 5.76 USD fee on paypal.
135  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin+Paypal=death of fiat on: March 12, 2016, 02:46:09 PM
what advantage yu got from xapo debit card?it can used for any store which dont accept bitcoin?

Yes, like for example mine bitcoins (or earn bitcoins the way you used to) > have them deposited in your xapo bitcoin address > have them instantly (well after 6 network confirmations) available to spend for fiat on your xapo debit card...smooth enough isnt it?

And yes i agree with you: fiat will exist for long big time, prolly forever but still i call myself one of pioneers making a live with bitcoins and rely 100% over my bitcoins income (yeah i still have to pay taxes using fiat...that's not my fault that's some governance being retard...)

Whats the process of getting XAPO debit card ?

Here the official service thread about xapo https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=902526.0
The one in my signature is good enough too (no referrals in my signature)

how you pay gas with paypal? you use CC from paypal?

Nope, my gas station (eu brand Q8) has an app you fund with paypal and generates a code you use at gas pump to pay.

Not sure if this was asked before but I wanted to confirm if it's possible to fund Paypal with Xapo debit card. If this is possible then I will definitely get one since that will be a great way to avoid Paypal scammers even if there are fees involved.
maybe this can help you : http://support.xapo.com/can-i-link-the-xapo-debit-card-with-my-paypal-account

Thanks but it's not clear to me. I want to fund my Paypal, not buy Bitcoins with it. So if I link the debit card on Paypal, I can add funds (fiat) to my account. I guess it's possible since you can get cash in an ATM with Xapo debit card but for this it's still confusing in my opinion, can anyone confirm this?

Yes it is possible: i linked my xapo debit card to my paypal and i use it as my main funding backup. Smooth enough.

While on the topic, though, how do you select which "type" of card you're using at a store? Do you say Visa or Debit?

it automatically works as Debit asking me to type the PIN
