I mean that I only make wagers in bitcoin.

Like, "I bet so and so will have dumped so and so by next Tuesday."

I would agree with you that scamcoins discredit cryptocurrency, although I don't think there needs be a conspiracy - the ordinary behaviour of greedy people can do it as well as a hidden cabal.

You will probably do better on fiverr, mechanical turk, elance, etc.

My bitcoin related new year's resolution:

I only bet in bitcoin.

Every day, chatting face to face, someone says, "I bet..."

So when they say that, I say, "I only bet in bitcoin."

Someone will ask you what it is, and then you get to explain.

further, if they truly want to bet with you, they have to set up a wallet Smiley

I have 3 bets going, one with my bitcoin resistant partner.  I'm looking forward to losing this one and forcing him to own some bitcoin!

anybody else doing this?

nb: I was not sure if Economics, Gambling or this subforum was the best one - apologies if I've missed the mark.

I think you are probably based in the US, but if you were in the UK I would have taken you up on the offer (with escrow).  I have a busted graphics card on my desktop and have not been able to play video games, which makes me a very grumpy magpie!

I have got half a mind to go onto tineye and see if we can't find the origins of this pic.

132  Economy / Services / Re: 0.08btc for person who will create a video on how to send with 0 fee on: January 03, 2014, 09:15:32 PM
Have you paid everythingbitcoin yet? Nobody is going to make your video for you unless you use escrow, or pay everythingbitcoin, or possibly both Smiley

These are really gorgeous, particularly the blue one - and the nodes are both attractive and illustrative Smiley

1) Guardian didn't like my sample piece, but wants a pitch on the two pieces that I also listed as ideas.

2) I have just opened a 7 room dungeon and I do not have time to write pitches for the Grauniad.

3) I did not get into this business to work a million hours a week. BITCHY MAGPIE IS BITCHY

basic income is a well studied economic proposal - if government wishes to start this they could certainly pay people in btc.

The way I see the sig is a gentle encouragement for me to post.  It's been a really good motivator for me to actually participate in a forum instead of simply lurking.  So, I spread the gospel of SPEND YOUR BITCOINS, welcome newbies, answer questions, and start the occasional thread.  Most of the active posters I see with the PD sigs seem to be doing the same.
