122  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If there was a bitcoin backed by something valuable on: August 13, 2014, 05:29:58 AM
Actually bitcoin is already backed by something valuable.
By a decentralized payments network that works perfectly and seemlesly for 5 years already...
123  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: The blockchain breaks the privacy laws (?) on: August 13, 2014, 04:20:52 AM
I believe that nobody has the right to record the transactions of the people. It is illegal.

I believe you are right. You should sue bitcoin.
Also don't forget to sue the internet. It records not only transactions but practically everything you do online. What you see, what you hear, with whom you talk...
124  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 10 million altcoins give away for free! on: August 13, 2014, 04:03:33 AM

126  Other / Off-topic / Re: My Bitcointalk Status is Now Legendary on: August 13, 2014, 02:30:36 AM
Legendary members should be super-rich already. I don't think that they have any need to participate in sig campaigns...
127  Economy / Speculation / Re: $1.6 million property purchased through bitpay on: August 13, 2014, 01:39:20 AM
that's quite a bit of money.. it would explain why the price has crashed yesterday-ish. it seems bitcoin's market cap is not nearly big enough to absorb this kind of action.

So you are saying that Bitpay sold the coins in bitstamp the moment they got the order? I don't think that's the way things work.
128  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin related domain names market flooded on: August 13, 2014, 01:21:30 AM
btc.com was sold for over 1M dollars.

As more people get into bitcoin, the price of a good domain name will keep going up. Same mentality of those hoarding coin and refusing to sell now.

That's one of the best bitcoin related domains out there. And it didn't even make it to this list: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_most_expensive_domain_names  Tongue Tongue
129  Economy / Speculation / Re: The only reason Bitcoin is more valuable then other altcoins on: August 13, 2014, 12:49:42 AM
obviously it is because it was the first one

I guess you found this thread through lycos or maybe altavista...  Tongue
130  Economy / Services / Re: Need some people to do some Instagram work. Paying BTC. on: August 13, 2014, 12:13:24 AM
Wait a minute... you want to help your ex?  Shocked
131  Economy / Speculation / Re: The only reason Bitcoin is more valuable then other altcoins on: August 12, 2014, 11:05:40 PM
Bitcoin is more valuable (some might say that it is the only valuable cc) because it does everything that is supposed to do.
Of course it has some issues (scalability etc.) but i don't see any of those issues addressed by any alt coin.

Don't expect a coin to overthrow bitcoin because it has pos vs pow, or because it is 100% premined, or because it is written from scratch etc...
about scalability non-issue... there was a post couple days ago on reditt about it...

I 'm not talking about tps scalability and how the network can handle it. I 'm talking about other issues like the db size that can somewhat reduce decentralization. Nothing critical though and if you could post that link it would be nice...
132  Economy / Speculation / Re: The end is coming. on: August 12, 2014, 09:35:12 PM
Litecoin has a solid userbase from old school crypto enthusiasts.
Yet it falls without rebounding, and the only little bounces we seem to be only short squeezes from margin trading.
How can you explain that?

Speculative money is moving out.

Litecoin has a solid userbase from old school crypto enthusiasts.
Obviously it doesn't add up anything to the general concept but it works, has a secure network and a team that works closely with bitcoin devs.
135  Economy / Services / Re: EdenDice Signature Campaign | Earn Up to 0.1btc for 50 posts | Ref Links Allowed on: August 12, 2014, 07:54:38 PM
Is EdenDice a subsidiary of PrimeDice?

Why would it be lol? No is the answer..

Because the guy running the campaign is also advertising PrimeDice.
There must be some connection otherwise it doesn't make much sense.

137  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin TANKING...opinions on future outlook both nearterm and long term? on: August 12, 2014, 01:55:10 AM
Maybe it has something to do with a warning issued by a consumer bureau or something...
138  Other / Archival / Re: Updated Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns on: August 12, 2014, 12:57:10 AM
OP how about adding something like "campaign of the month"? Or even better "campaign of the week".
And maybe a count of how many times a campaign have won the "campaign of the week" title.

I think it would save everyone some time and it would be an extra incentive for companies to be generous and consistent.
139  Other / Meta / Re: How many astroturfers are here? on: August 12, 2014, 12:07:48 AM
From all the astroturfers that promote scams and altcoins what caught your attention is people talking about conspiracy theories?

Why does that surprise you?

Because conspiracy theories are mostly harmless. Unlike schemes where people lose their money...
140  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-08-08] The signs it's time to pull out of Bitcoin investment on: August 11, 2014, 11:35:02 PM
