Some services may want to trade that for agile and flexible platform. It is still way to early to tell. Bitcoin just starts to develop top/side layers, and Ethereum is still in its unstable beta stage. You know that the Internet is not TCP/IP only, right? We have UDP, TCP-Streaming and other protocols as well. But for fuck's sake, can you stop with that Bitcoin is old, obsolete and the rest of the BS?? I don't think we need a backup plan!! Some people don't understand that Ethereum is de best option to build on. They have the best devs the more then 300 dapss in their dapstore, big companies testing on ethereum like ibm siemens deloitte and microsoft azure is already integrated ethereum as a service. Ethereum is being attacked because they (bitcoin) are scared and they know they can lose alot of marketcap to ethereum so they atack to harm the trust of people. Ethereum is hardening every time when attacked. Al other blockchainplatform solutions are far behind ethereum because when they are in the top 3 then the attackers will aim on them too. smart contract platforms look safe (lisk, stratis,synereo) but are absolutely not. I think devolopment is more important then price of ether. Iconomi made the best choice to choose for ethereum. Sorry for my english im from Holland.

Don't expect dividends before OFM. There are only 3 possible dividends channels before OFM:
1. Selling Golem tokens - how much dividends this 20% profit of 5.000 eht is going to be?
2. ICNX - that is if people will invest into the index. It shouldn't yield much dividends at the beginning. The expected fees from the index is ~2% annual (not official numbers)
3. Selling future ICOs invested - we don't know where and how much Iconomi is going to invest, when those tokens are going to be tradable.
Dividends are going to play big role when OFM is active with sustainable userbase.
1. I'd expect the profit is dividend? so 20% ~ 1k eth? 2. where did you get that number from? The numbers are not yet official, like I wrote. More of estimation. 2% management fee for CTFs is pretty standard. You won't get ALL profits from ICNP, that's for sure. ICNP was seeded with ICO money, so no reason for you to get 100% profits (it was not a direct investment) being an eth based token its price gonna decline in accordance with bugs discovered in etherum. no need to speculate, you should consider yourself lucky that price did not go below ico buy levels. Edit: yet Maybe, as long as the platform is not active. Once you have OFM active, the price of ICN will be mainly determined by the quality of the product and the amount of users and money in the platform, and not by the underlying blockchain. indeed, that is the only reason i have not sold a single ICN yet. however, the nightmares are real! it can happen any day.. any time.. any moment. i am relatively new in crypto but the frequency of bugs discovered in ETH are alarming.. maybe you guys migrate to a more stable platform? It serves its purpose as a store of value and interborder transfers. No one really uses bitcoin to buy coffe. Thats why coinbase is changing their model from supporting merchants with bitcoin transaction to being crypto traders. And above all bitoin is not broken at all like ethereum. It is working as normal. true there is some spam going on at the moment but it is due to gridlock between large block supporters and small block supporters. 1 MB will be raised one way or other and the spam attacks will get costlier and costlier. even with current spam attack those who want to use bitcoin can use bitcoin with slightly higher fees. On the other hand ethereum has no real world use case outside of crypto sphere. No one really need smart contracts on a turing complete platform and really it is trying to find a solution for a problem that does not exist. and what is interesting is that the solutions ethereum is finding are not good at all. Ethereum platform will never be bugfree because it is turing complete. there will always be a cat and mouse game to find bugs and fix bugs as the system evolve and no one will trust such a system for creating important smart contracts. They said homestead is a production ready stable version which is far from the truth. It will simply die just like all other hyped alt coins have died slowly. It will just take a bit longer. Ehm but you know ICONOMI is a Fund Management Platform, based on smart contracts that are running on exactly this Ethereum Blockchain you are talking about?! Bitcoin has been around since 2009.
