I'm interested, I wonder If I could use this on ATT without a data plan, is it considered a smart phone?

so even with the HST code on my fedex shipment under my street address, and EIN/Tax ID and under shipment notes for Batch 8 and 9 I just received a bill in the mail from fedex for 35 bucks for the customs fees.
so I think the HST trick is either hit or miss, or completely useless

Question on buying S7. If i place order and dont pay with Bitcoin. Do i take there bank info to my bank and the will wire the money to them?
Yep :-)

i just used gorilla glue gel superglue and it works very well.. just remove the old hardened adhesive from the heatsink, and dab a small dot on the center of the chip and make sure you press down firmly

Does those 2 boards report much higher temperature as a result compared to the 3rd hash board? Curious as I want to be able to spot these issues in the future if it happens remotely.
I think he got lucky. It would be very easy not to notice it, which is the scary part. And the heats sinks are made of metal so if they hit the wrong spot on the board it can be a very bad result. With 2 having issues Droid was there anything in common you noticed? Or just plan bad luck. I hadn't even tried to run them, I noticed as I was moving them the clanking.. I think they may have fallen off after placing them on their new shelf.. Maybe the litte thump from setting them down was enough to just pop off Interesting I'm glad you found it before any damage. That is kinda scary if caused from just moving shelf's. I was not guessing something as little as that was cause. Thanks for sharing. Yeah I ordered a couple rPi heatsinks after I saw the sink on the end tumbling around, but then realized a second one was loose also. Just sent an email to Sherry to see what she wants me to do Also on another note Has anyone had issues sliding two together and the two getting stuck? I've got a B7 and B8 slid together with the aluminum rails and for the life of me I can't slide them apart now. Seems maybe the metal swelled or there might have been a little shard of aluminum on the track and wedged itself in there causing it to jam up. I'm probably going to have to keep them permanently together now lol

One heatsink in a b7 I have fell off when moving the miner to a diff location.
Could I potentially buy a small adhesive rPi heatsink to replace it?
What batch is this? Wow that is not good to hear that heatsinks are falling just from regular relocation. How did you find out 1 fell off? Did the temperature spike up on 1 of the card or did you just happened to be looking and coincidentally saw this? Batch 7 I heard a clinking sound and took off rear fan and saw it popped off the end of blade 1 Also looking at it more there's another heatsink that popped off in the middle of blade 2

OK, thanks. How about a EVGA 1300 running 2 boards and a CX750 running a board and the controller? Do you think this may work. The reason I ask is because I currently run 7 s3s, a s2 and a s5 on ~4200 watts. (3 evga 1300 and 2 CX750) I want to upgrade to 3 s7s which will put me in about the same wattage but I don't really want to buy too many more PSUs. Think I can make this work?
I think the S2 has a 1000w PSU in there that you could use as well. Nope. I bought the s2 used. It had an EVGA 1500 watt PSU. I thought that was a bonus until it burned up. (wasn't as great as i thought) I replaced it with a 1300. That's where the 3rd 1300 comes from. I plan on keeping the s5, so I need 1 of the cx750s that I am running. I am hoping I can get away with just buying 2 more of the 750s. I'm not trying to cut corners but at the same time I don't want to spend any more than I have to. I figure with the PSUs I have I should be able to get away with just buying 2 more 750s. I hope. I am running 3 S'7 on the EVGA 1300's, but they are Batch2, 4.66 units. But I do have them OC'ed to 600 and getting 4.85 steady with .0001err on all 3. I am running the 3 boards on the 1300's and a CX750 to power the 3 controllers. Works great. Pulling 1215w per miner, again thats without the controller and fan. I have fans hard set at 28% for low RPM and quiet. The 3 feed my HVAC for heat and also works great, the fan on the HVAC runs 24x7 and does create a bit of negative air pressure to help suck the hot air out of the miners. See picture How do you duct them into the furnace? Dryer vent hoses?

Just to follow up on my compensation email:
"We've already explained to you that ,our sales team have compensated customers with specific
orders, if they have not sent the compensations to your account ,that means you are not in the list ."
|
|
|
Well it looks like I received my Batch 1 compensation about 1 hour ago from Bitmain. Thank you
how did you get it? My batch 1's were short hash like 4500- 4600 vs the 4860 I paid for. same here.. and bitmain seems to not care about my request for compensation.. i wonder how the others are getting theirs
|
|
|
"hi We dont have compensations now,and our sales team have compensated customer with that orders in the beginning ."
This is what I got from Sherry at Bitmain regarding compensation for my batch 1

I would be careful about mounting extra fans or changing fans on the Avalon, the software and the mining speed are all tied into that damn fan.
On a second note, I would be willing to bet BTC that the miner that sees the problem in the summer will be the S7 and not the Avalon6. That is one of the reasons I am willing to spend the few extra bucks on the Avalon6. Have you looked at the design of an S7 using 3 hashing boards, it is ignorant. That middle hashing board is going to be cooked in the summer time, also comparing chips like that doesn't work, different chips are designed to operate differently.
thats why you sell them off come summer time and purchase next gen

just got a B8 and 2 B9's
lets see how fast the B8 comes in comparison to the B9's
shipped FEDEX. I also added the HST code to my address, to my EIN / VAT section and to the special notes section
