Change log:

The 1.6 series is no longer considered experimental. If upgrading from 1.5.15
or earlier, see the 1.6.0e and 1.6.1e changelogs for other important changes
in 1.6.

The account ledger now uses transaction id as event id for all events except
block generation. To apply this change, the account ledger table will be
automatically truncated on upgrade to this release. Users who desire to
restore the deleted past account ledger entries should run a full rescan from
the API test page. Note that account ledger records are only kept for 30000
blocks by default.

Added currency transfers history page to the Monetary System UI.

Added generate hallmark dialog to facilitate hallmarking your node. The host
field is pre-populated with the external node address as detected by UPnP.
Note that when using dynamic IP address you should set up and use a dynamic
DNS hostname instead of the numeric IP for the hallmark. And when using a
non-default port, the host field should be filled as host:port.

Added "clear results" link in the ShapeShift My Exchanges section, to allow
clearing past transaction history. As this history data is being retrieved
from the ShapeShift servers, it allows correlating Nxt accounts previously
used for exchange transactions with the current user IP address and with each
other, thus clearing history after no longer needed is important for the user
privacy.

Funding a new account using ShapeShift now relies on the ShapeShift sendamount
API which provides better conversion rate. The user first specifies the
amount of NXT to receive, the dialog then presents a deposit address for the
source currency which the user needs to fund with the exact amount within 10
minutes.

Added ledger tab to the account info dialog.

Added includeAssetInfo or includeCurrencyInfo parameters, default false, to
the getAccountAssets, getAccountCurrencies, getAccountExchangeRequests,
getExpectedAssetTransfers, and getExpectedCurrencyTransfers APIs.

Tabs are now sorted mostly alphabetically on the API test page.

Added nxt.hideErrorDetails property, default false, to allow suppressing node
specific configuration details in error messages returned to peers.

Increased default prunable lifetime setting to 90 days. Minimum enforced is
still 2 weeks.

The UPnP connection timeouts are now also configurable in nxt.properties.

Updated Bouncy Castle library to version 1.53, Jetty to version 9.3.5, IzPack
installer to 5.0.5, and weupnp to 0.1.4. Make sure to delete the old lib
folder if unpacking over a previous installation.

The next steps in Tennessee are starting to take shape:

Marketing/PR.
Part of the overall strategy for NXT/SuperNET PR is going to be aimed at putting a human faces (or faces) on the Nxt community, both removing the 'anonymous=evil' image problem that Nxt has, and giving people some other people that they can relate to.
Most effective marketing is not about the product itself, but is about how people interact with and use the product, and if we are to use this strategy for Nxt/SuperNET......we need people to stand up and be seen.

So, what I need is for people (particularly project leaders) to step up and write a short profile of themselves and their projects:
https://nxtforum.org/nxt-promotion/%28tennessee%29-an-overview-of-nxt-people-and-projects-help-needed!/msg198230/#msg198230
The profile doesn't have to be well-written, we can always tidy it up, but it does need to contain solid information and links.
I'm quite happy for people to remain anonymous, so you don't have to publish your real name, a profile under your forum handle will also be acceptable.
Though, obviously, for this strategy, we do need a reasonable number of non-anonymous profiles.
Get writing, please......

Client Development
The second thread of the TNSSE project is to help make the user experience for NXT/SuperNET as simple and user friendly as possible.
We've identified a  number of things that we can do to help out, and one of the first steps is to set up repositories for popular LInux distros:
https://nxtforum.org/nrs-client-development/%28tennesse%29-linux-repositories-for-nxtsupernet-software/
Non-crypto Linux users are a perfect market for Nxt, and for crypto in general. I've seen how Ethereum have handled Linux distributon of their client software, and it it's very professional and market orientated. We need to do the same.....

AWESOME NEWS!!

Aldrin has just donated 20,000 InstantDEX for sale for TNSSE.

His conditions for sale are the following:

- The price is 100 NXT per asset.
- We do the sale strictly OTC.
- We will reserve the NXT into TNSSE in the name of the buyer, who will then receive his TNSSE part once the TNSSE are released.
- We are selling the Assets on a first-come-first-served basis based on offers in this thread!

Assets are already in my account: NXT-D6K7-MLY6-98FM-FLL5T

This donation donation comes from parties involved with InstantDEX and jl777, and therefore SuperNET.

Please put offers in the thread on NXTForum if you want to buy AND support! Grin

Nxt has quite long history now. Is there any real world usage about it apart from trading in exchanges?

Good time to pick some up cheap.

I hate it when people say this. I mean, I hope its true. But you don't know for sure that it is.
I know, I felt dirty saying it too.

It belongs in the "lies bagholders tell themselves" thread.

Though I believe this one to be true  Cheesy

Hey thats OK. We all have to believe in something. Except for the Nihilists.

They believe in nothing, which is kinda still something

This is going to a level I would not have expected when looking at a thread here!
129  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Alternative NXT Announces Coordinated Marketing Project Codenamed ... on: October 20, 2015, 12:52:14 PM
Hmm this is a very interesting project, I`ve just heard about it. If this will be a massive marketing plan, which I`m sure it will, then I expect the NXT, and all it's assets (including ours) to double/triple/quadruple in price.

Essentially the NXT investors will get what then wanted since inception. It is really time to move NXT to the top 5, it deserves it, good luck!  Smiley

Lol.  I hope not.  You really have nothing but potential.  I'd rather a real company issue a NXT asset backed by good fundamentals.  That's how real value comes in the platform.

Right now it's all like one giant penny stock trading game.  Well not even...  Your 'assets' have no volume.  Utterly untradable.

Oh god no, we're not just marketing. At this point, that's utterly silly.

If you read the points we made on nxtforum, this project grew from our activities over the last 1,5 years: https://nxtforum.org/general-discussion/%28marketing-business-and-development%29-the-tennessee-project-fundraiser/

We have people coming to us, but from a sales perspective, not enough concrete use cases to show. So the project focuses on both those (development perspective) combined with a PR boost (which is broader than what people seem to think is "marketing"). PR is the whole spectrum of outreach, not just "marketing" as seemingly defined as "throw out a couple of press releases now and then". We completely agree that the latter is just throwing away money.

The goal is to onboard real business in whatever way onto NXT. While that could be via the AE, there are many other ways that NXT is interesting to businesses. This project is about that. Don't expect any fluff from us, not strident announcements of how great NXT will be. Smiley

We both have a business background and want to offer value, not promises.

131  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NXT] Nxt - Official Thread on: October 13, 2015, 11:51:47 PM
Damelon, I have to say I like it.  Who will go about these tasks and what is their motivation to do so?

Have you targeted any markets, angles, channels, or value propositions yet?

https://nxtforum.org/general-discussion/%28marketing-business-and-development%29-the-tennessee-project-fundraiser/

The people who will do this (in full cooperation with many others with supplementary skills) are EvilDave and me.

As stated in the Tennessee plan, we'd get a retainer for the hours we will take out of our normal jobs (at least, I will, as Dave is a freelancer).

Part of the funds is our wage and part is our working budget. We will work with open books, if only because we want to set an example, but also because it's how it needs to be done.

Over the past years, we have worked closely with most people in the NXT community, and we will both make use of their skills and also offer our services to help in any way we can.

This at the very least means taking each and any legitimate project details with us to conference, into meetings, and when applicable pitch them.

Our motivation is multifold:

1) We hold NXT and have a stake and want to work to create value
2) We love NXT as a platform and think it's seriously undervalued and underrepresented
3) We believe that the project at this stage needs this, and that our bootstrapping phase has only just begun.
4) We wish to inspire others to do the same.

In short: it's a mix of business, pleasure and values.  Smiley

We are still building a list of markets, but we already have a portfolio of ventures we are talking to.
132  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NXT] Nxt - Official Thread on: October 13, 2015, 10:17:22 PM
Specifically how will you provide "PR/marketing/outreach" in order to help bring applications to market?

There are several methods, all of which we are already doing, but imperfectly.

Let's take an example where we'd actually have an application, say a tool that allows you to create a token, and allows your customer to trade it within your own environment. What the actual token is doesn't matter in this use case.

1. You define what markets and industries this specific use case may appeal to or be of use to.
2. You define the level of competence with regards to crypto solutions applies.
3. You create an attractive PR package centered around the specific value proposition you have to offer them (centered around themes like efficiency, cost reduction and security for example)
4. You pinpoint industry outlets to target with your campaign.
5. You pinpoint major players within the industry
6. You find out if you already have possibilities for introductions and make use of them to get first contact
7. You find a good value for money spot to promote your solution at and fight to gain a speaking or pitching spot there.
8. You find out who is an up and coming underdog in the industry and go at him
9. You go to said conferences and do a shitload of networking
10. You follow up on the gathered contacts and go into a feedback loop with them, feeling out potential pitfalls

Etc. etc.

A lot of these things are actually free or nearly costless in terms of having to pay for a lot of materials. Time is the bottleneck in most of these cases because proper talks and follow up take a lot of time and attention to detail.

Still, the essential process is the same: pinpoint market (and be bloody creative about it!), pinpoint angles of "attack", pinpoint channels and pinpoint the value proposition.
Combine it with a healthy dose of doggedness and time investment and you are well under way.

Such a program should not be done in a vacuum: it needs to be supported by a broader appeal, but no entrepeneur is going to be interested in "This is NXT and it's cool because {fill in crypto term of endearment}"
You need to talk in terms of benefit and value, not in terms of tech.
133  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NXT] Nxt - Official Thread on: October 13, 2015, 09:41:08 PM
The acquisition of leads to both incorporate Nxt into real world applications/businesses.

Why not put that time/energy/money directly into building a real world application?

Because they go together.
There are quite a few devs in NXT that can and do built things that have a good chance of being succesful.
However, a lot of projects are abandoned due to lack of business acumen, so the projects tend to be shortlived.

One of the major aims that Tennessee has is to take these "sleeper" projects and help them get to market. I am sorry this wasn't completely clear in the above.

From a sales perspective, it is at this moment almost impossible to pitch NXT to any investor, because he is going to ask "show me what you have got". So the loop that needs to be created in use cases <> PR/marketing/outreach <> investor/entrepeneur.

Note that the above is not linear, it's looped. The elements feed each other. Tennessee is aimed at breaking the vicious circle we find ourselves in that there is a continuous lack of funding and eventually motivation. We are confident that once that cycle is broken, things can and will progress at their own pace.

And sure, if people have the acumen and start up cash to do so, they should put the money there. http://otdocs.com/ does, http://debune.org/ does, http://nxtty.com/ and https://lythmmo.com/ does.

Tennessee is meant to help open it up further. From what we hear and see in our day to day talks with potential users and businesses, it's dearly needed.
134  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NXT] Nxt - Official Thread on: October 13, 2015, 09:16:43 PM
WHY IS NXT ONLY 8 MILLION $? IT SHOULD BE 8 TRILLION $!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not until it sees application in the real world.  NXT has a lot of tools but no one is interested in using them.  There is a lot of talk about promoting NXT but the greatest promotion in the world would be using it to build something useful.

Indeed, I could not agree more Smiley

Promotion is useless without showing something. So, shameless plug: https://nxtforum.org/general-discussion/%28marketing-business-and-development%29-the-tennessee-project-fundraiser/

Tennessee has three overall aims:

•   A major increase in and professionalisation of Nxt marketing

•   To improve the Nxt user experience, in terms of ease of use, support and documentation

•   The acquisition of leads to both incorporate Nxt into real world applications/businesses.and to attract investors to the platform.

^ Best comment from a NXT supporter imo.

I have nothing against NXT but I've noticed its supporters love to attack Bitshres when what they really should be doing is focusing on advertising their own platform.  NXT market cap is falling while the Bitshares people are busy making partnerships and are working hard on developing a new (and hopefully good) product.

If I didn't know any better, I'd think the NXT supporters are butthurt.  Sorry for the direct honesty guys...

Thank you. Smiley

I have never understood the whole in-fighting amongst cryptos, unless it's powered by something as base as greed.
There is no other reason to level the amount of sheer jaw-dropping hate and malevolence at another project that I can think of that would make sense.

There is no "NXT supporter", just as there is no "BTS supporter". To generalise in such a way is both denigrating to the wide diversity of people working in both our platforms and misrepresenting the situation.
It also leads to ridiculous conspiracy theories about shady groups paying other shady people off to FUD, where a simple Occam's Razor would tell us that it's much more likely SOME people are butthurt and/or nervous.

If a project (either NXT or BTS or ETH) doesn't work or overpromises, the only thing that needs to be done is simply wait until the thing falls down. The venom that pervades BCT is one of the main reasons sane people distrust cryptos in the first place. We are doing ourselves a massive disservice by not once counting to ten and considering how our words hurt the very platforms we are trying to support.

Anyway, preaching hour over. Good luck in what must be a nervous time for everyone involved. Launching things never is easy.

Well, seeing as he's running both Remittio and LottoShares as well as his BTS duties, I imagine he's a busy guy.

And,yeah, I do know that CCEDK organises a lot of your high-profile press, not Michael T,
