121  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CCminer(SP-MOD) Modded NVIDIA Maxwell kernels. on: March 19, 2016, 12:49:40 AM
Anyone know of a solution that allows changing clock speeds from the command line in windows? Nvidia-smi -ac doesn't seem to work on the core clock, it only really changes the mem speed.
I tried changing the clock speeds to as low as 8xx Mhz but it's still hashing away at 14xx Mhz. And nvidia-smi also doesn't allow disabling GPU Boost.

With decred mod 4 I get 1725 Mh/s per 970 and 590 Mh/s per 750 Ti with medium OC (970 WFOC: 1465-1478 Mhz, 750 Ti: 1288 Mhz).
I could get more with higher OC but that would not be stable for some other algos and I'm switching between coins a lot so it would be nice if I could switch between different OC presets from within the .bat files.

Ps.: that 1900 Mh/s is just due to oscillation (just like the 989 Mh/s before that) and it's not realistic (yet  Grin).

Try using Nvidia Inspector.

Click on "show overclock".

Change to P0 in the drop down menu. Top right you might have to click "Unlock Max". Use the Base Clock Offset and then when done click on the "Apply Clocks & Voltage".

I believe P2 is used for the memory.

At least this works for me.

I would vote for scrypt, x11, lyra2rev2 and blake2s

I don't think two algos with huge farms is needed. Scrypt and X11 just as Scrypt and Sha256 imo are redundant it would be nice to show small farms and individuals some love they're part of the community big farms couldnt care less for the future of the project.

You are not going to find an algo that has no huge farms.

Scrypt, x11 and sha256 are asics.

Any "cpu" algo is botnet. Just about all blake algo are fpga.

No matter what is picked is going to have up and down sides to them.

So in a nut shell all asic algo's are asic farms. All cpu algo's are botnet and all gpu algo's are huge farms.

So where is the middle ground?

Is there anyone who can post a proof that PoS is working?!
200 coins in wallet and still nothing from PoS...
I have got pos mined coins.

I have 2.3k in my wallet. my weight is 4636, network 251. But my wallet is not staking since 36 hours.

walletversion is 1.1.0

Check your transaction history.

I have way less and my wallet is staking but the stakes are orphaned.

X11 asics is already out.

I say multi.

EDIT:http://cryptomining-blog.com/page/3/

You can read the last few pages also from the blog.

Sure not a lot of people have one now but is available.

Hey guys! Take a look at cryptsy twitter! It looks like someone claims to be able to restore the lost BTC, LTC, .... who knows if after that XVG wallet will be reopen and people will be able to WD XVG along other locked coins(if not sold by LittleVern)!

Hopefully, this doesn't lead to massive dumping.

cryptsy wallets were cleaned up (sold on Bittrex) long ago it was warned here when it happened. Besides that all coins still in Cryptsy's control are gone for sure even if they really recovered part of the BTC.

I hold my coins on bittrex are they safe there ?

I put this message in my sig too be funny but also as a warning about keeping coins on exchanges and pools for that matter. Neither are banks. You should keep and control your coins in your possession unless you are trading/selling them. Even then when I am done I immediately send my BTC back to my wallet. Even if it is 0.01 BTC.

Just a warning to everyone, please don't buy any miners without concrete evidence they work. Anyone can fake a screenshot or write a program that displays fake hashrate.

You are really questioning some of these devs and their work?

Question everything Smiley

Well judging from the person's name and if it is the Neptunium Coin that uses the algo that one said dev wrote a miner for that they are using as an algo, questioning should not be in their volcabulary.

I think it would be a good thing to get at least a second dev on board. Not to jinx anything, but what if – god forbid – something happens to vergeDEV or he is temporarily unavailable/on vacation/whatever?

Just my opinion.

No.

Dev has been working their ass off on this coin for a few years no or so. If you are just finding out about it go back and read the previous and original thread.

They are accomplishing what their objective is.

Maybe one day or currently working behind the scene with some one else but for now don't go messing with something that is not broke.

I have seen in the past, way past, where this dev had helped a coin through some issues. Don't remember the coin now because it does not exist any longer.

It is a shame it took so long for people to see this coin and what the dev is capable of. The name switch was a very good idea that took a little too long to happen but I can't complain about that because it allowed me to build more up.

Single GTX970 ->

0.1BTC each copy pm me

I can confirm that this works as advertised.

EDIT:

Here are my results. Since in the previous picture I had the miner at Intensity 25 (514 Mh/s),I have downclocked the Intensity on this miner also to 25 so I would get an apple to apple comparison. I do get higher hash by raising the Intensity back to 30 but for comparison reasons only it is at 25. The 960 and 970 is also at Intensity 25.

750ti at 1333 core (factory OC)
960 at 1430 core (factory OB)
970 at 1342 core (factory OC)

750ti:

960 and 970:

960 and 970 at Intensity 30 (stock setting):

Nice work on the miner.
131  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: gpushack.com reviews on: March 10, 2016, 04:03:50 AM
I am a new miner Tongue (smallest may be). I want to buy some gpus and through searching the forum I have known that GPUshack.com sells and ships gpus. All I want to know, is it a legit site ? Or a scam site that cheats people. Please help me
Their service is very well rated and most of the people liked their prices as well(see reddit comments),also the warranty is a sign of an honest service. However, It seems they are whole sale manufacturers and had run a mining farm in the past and now are unloading the stash.

Some cards come from the manufacture that sells to GPUShack I got a MSI 970 Gaming that GPUShack got from MSI directly.

So GPUShack is a "middleman" for some manufactures to get rid of their inventory. Also the GPUShack has really good customer service. I emailed them and had a response within 15 minutes.

So I was using an old Geth, 1.0.2 and everything was working fine. Transferred a few coins to test and went smooth. Went to bed and woke up the next day and the Geth had froze. I close and reran it and it started to resync the whole block chain but wold get stuck at different points. So I had to keep closing it.

Tried to run the 1.3.5 and it says "Old database detected, upgrading...."

It has been like this for about 2 hours now. I am not sure if it is doing anything at all.

Any ideas?

EDIT: Aftre 3 hours or so it moved and now I have an "upgrading db log bloom bins" so maybe it is doing something.

Just curious about your miner you are selling, what have you changed?. You have the 750ti at 518 Mh/s

I am using tpruvot 1.7.4 release and getting about the same hash as you. EVGA SC 750ti Core at 1281 MHz and you can see my results, I just raised intensity a few numbers:

antonio ...

yours is the sc - super clocked - edition ... it is ALWAYS a higher hashrate ... no matter what version you use ...

if theirs or sp's version is run off your cards - it will rate higher - unless epsylon3 has changed his version with the same optimizations ...

#crysx

Not necessarily true. My EVGA kills my MSI OC edition and I mean by a lot and they are clocked same core. Some reason my EVGA are better.

My point being was that I can get about the same rate my a little work just raising intensity you or anyone else can also by doing the same.

Just curious what was done by selling tpruvot work and was there really a change made or hard coded the intensity higher in this miner.

I won't even compare sp as he shows you have to OC the core to a ridiculous amount and yes I did to see what a got. I raised the core to 1405 but not thr intensity and got like 578 Mh/s and sure it would have been higher if I raised the intensity. No way would I run my cards that hard though for 24/7 to get that hash rate. SO I can achieve sp's rate also or close to it and not spend 0.1 BTC to do it.

It is not about the BTC it more or less is about what are these people actually changing for 0.1BTC and if not much then people should donate to the original dev who made it possible for us to mine in the first place.

That is mainly it.

So in a nut shell I got this and sp's hash rate for free.

Here is how I read this.

The VNL guy started that thinking he would get people to laugh off XVG. Then post #5 someone with an XMR logo looks to kinda agree with XVG and it's background just has a slight hesitation on some of it's working.

Then post #8 the VNL person looks to back track after seeing post #5.

I say the XVG dev is on to what he is trying to accomplish.

The way i understand this, it is more a question of philosophies than of technic. On the one hand, you have XMR/DASH/etc. that are trying to create as much clearnet anonymitiy as possible, because that's where the most people will use their coins.
Verge is about creating an ecosystem that is completely anonymous, because it never got in touch with the clearnet.
Right?
In this case, I don't really see what the fuss is all about. Those are two different philosophies and it is for the user to decide, which one suits him_her best.

Oh I agree.

I guess I should have been more to the point that it took someone else from the XMR side to see this and now the VNL person is seeing the light of what XVG is doing.

Any ways end of this for me. I am still holding. Wink

For all who keeps asking about ETH and mining try the miner from here since ccminer does not support it: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1368785.0

Also have a look at Genoil's thread where you can get answers for it and how to use: http://forum.ethereum.org/discussion/2227/cuda-miner

You'll probably get more answers quicker. Don't forget to donate to Genoil for his work.
138  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CCminer(SP-MOD) Modded NVIDIA Maxwell kernels. on: March 02, 2016, 01:10:31 PM
sp do you will release the spreadminer for free one day, it's not even so profitable anymore

Don't think that would be a good business decision for those who bought it. Maybe they won't buy in the future.
139  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CCminer(SP-MOD) Modded NVIDIA Maxwell kernels. on: March 02, 2016, 12:16:23 PM
Could someone please give me a bat file for Ethereum so I can benchmark a 750ti with my vista computer and which ccminer to use?  thank you

ethminer -U -F http://eth-eu.dwarfpool.com:80/PUT-YOUR-WALLET-ADDY-HERE --cuda-devices 0 1 2 3

Change the cuda devices number to your 750ti number.

I really think you are wasting your time though with the 750ti

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1368785.0  Use this for the miner. ccminer does not work.

EDIT: Should have said if using Windows as restless mentioned above.

I am not too familiar with this either, but if you have a low block and they have a ton of power, won't they get a ton of verge if you set it up this way....if so, wouldn't that give them the power they are looking for as it seems they are trying to manipulate the price with adding in this hashing power.  If we give them a bunch of coins with their hashing power then maybe they will keep the price lower with all their coins?  Just my thought I guess.

they're losing money. trust me. lol

I like the idea of tipping a block once in an hour in that scenerio that will make sure they are not workers but paying slaves if their intentions are evil.

While we are at it did you guys check Decred coin hybrid PoW+PoS it's the first cryptocurency to legalize crypto enslavement lol. PoW miners do all the work and the bagholders on PoS decide if they accept miners blocks or not lol. They called it joint concensus it's pure elite enslavement of crypto miners  Cheesy

Hey, hey. Don't be so hard on us POS bagholders. Wink
