121  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: bitHopper: Python Pool Hopper Proxy on: August 02, 2011, 03:09:34 AM

Yeh its all just for fun, we are making nothing. ahem shhhh Wink

Haha.  Don't get me wrong, I am definitely coming out ahead, but compared to the prop pools I am making MUCH less from Slush.  Pretty much over 200% efficiency at most prop pools while slush is around 130%.
122  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: bitHopper: Python Pool Hopper Proxy on: August 02, 2011, 03:05:10 AM
...and I answered.

I am tempted to take a screenshot of the paltry sums I get from Slush each round to post there, but I don't want to risk getting banned if Slush doesn't take well to his pool being hopped.
123  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: bitHopper: Python Pool Hopper Proxy on: August 02, 2011, 02:59:57 AM
also, is bitclockers working properly again now?
the efficiency is crap, but i got decent amount of btc there  Cheesy

I was about to disable bitclockers and then their efficiency jumped from 78% to 228.5%.  Can't complain about that.
124  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: bitHopper: Python Pool Hopper Proxy on: August 02, 2011, 02:48:28 AM
Someone just posted on Slush's thread about bithopper.  This should be interesting.

haha sigh ive decided to just give up on bitclockers their system doesnt seem to handle more than 230Gh and everyone start to get cycled, it has nothing to do with being a hopper since I saw other users reporting they also keep getting idle miner, 20second reconnect.

Till they upgrade its just not sane to waste gpu cycles there.

Yep, I agree.  This is the last round for bitclockers for me.  Getting under 100% efficiency with them because the last few rounds were long anyway.
126  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: bitHopper: Python Pool Hopper Proxy on: August 01, 2011, 05:20:47 PM
mine_slush hops on at 0 and off at 10%. My stats are broken atm, what are yours? (efficiency and shares submitted)

Has the 10% figure been arrived at mathematically or is it just someone's best guess? I currently have slush disabled because I can't bear to watch the balance keep going down after leaving.

I was the same way until I figured it out.  Make sure that the role for slush is "mine_slush" and not just "mine".  Basically what happens is that on rounds less than 10 minutes you make a MASSIVE reward for the number of shares you submit (3-400% efficiency range) and on rounds longer than like 30 minutes you basically get nothing.  It works out to between 100-200% efficiency.  Been running it for a day myself and I am currently at over 150% efficiency.    Believe me, it works.
127  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: bitHopper: Python Pool Hopper Proxy on: August 01, 2011, 04:25:03 AM
Let me just say that polmine is awesome.  And who would have thought about Slush??  I am over 200% efficiency at Slush for the day.
128  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: bitHopper: Python Pool Hopper Proxy on: August 01, 2011, 02:53:57 AM
Yeah, I gave up doing that because it just doesn't work. I applaud his tenacity, but I think he's going to tread water. I've just concentrated on trying to help hopping be as efficient as possible until there are no prop pools left.

Oh.  I am in it for the money.  I would have stopped mining by now if it wasn't for hopping, and hopping has allowed me to continue.  I have absolutely no problem with pools remaining prop and the users who choose to use them.  There is PLENTY enough choice out there for people right now, I really don't think anyone should be trying to force the remaining prop pools into changing their systems.  Also, doing so means less pools for me to hop, which is bad.
129  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: bitHopper: Python Pool Hopper Proxy on: August 01, 2011, 02:39:03 AM
and do eligious payments show up as "generated"

Yea, that freaked me out the first time.
130  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: bitHopper: Python Pool Hopper Proxy on: August 01, 2011, 02:35:51 AM
So Sukrim is actively trying to piss off pool operators apparently:

Yeah I see, just hopped in again! Kiss

By the way - what is done against people gaming the jackpot by creating (e.g.) 100 accounts and simply running 100 miners on a GPU (not really a problem for GPUs, though I haven't tried with that high numbers) all going at CPU miner speed? I guess that could increase chances to "jack the pot" somewhat significantly and only costs time one to set the whole stuff up once.

Edit:
And hellooo >200GH/s hash rate! Thanks and gratulations to everyone who chooses to mine at massive losses just to make hoppers happy!

So does this mean bclc is safe to mine on now?

Yes and no.

I dont know if they are still delaying stats.  If they are, you will still come out ahead on most rounds but efficiency is not going to be fantastic.  If they are not delaying stats, then yes its pretty safe to mine on.

Also, the owner of the pool has not been kind to miners.  I am going to mine them but constantly keep an eye on whether they are gaming stats or not.

Jine over at bitcoins.lc says that the issue with the json is permanently solved in the new system he is launching tonight.  Time will tell.  On the upside, 8 figure payments finally.  YAY.

Quote
It was me uncommenting a few lines due to the 10m row.
It basically sets the stats to a static value to avoid having to do COUNT(*) against a 10m row's table.

Sorry for that, the issue is permanently solved in the new system and it shouldn't be an issue in the future.

missed out on 2 bclc rounds so far because the json is broken.  Looks like its time to go back to regex.
134  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: bitHopper: Python Pool Hopper Proxy on: July 31, 2011, 05:11:40 PM
Maybe we should formally submit a bug report to bclc opper. Maybe he isn't unethical and he just needs to patch his software.

EDIT: never ascribe to malice what can equally be explained by incompetence.

Of course any sufficiently advanced incompetence is indistinguishable from malice.

json stats for "round_shares" are frozen at 126183 again.  Why always 126183?
136  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: bitHopper: Python Pool Hopper Proxy on: July 31, 2011, 04:50:34 PM
Is it that bitcoins.lc gets messed up after a huge round for a while?  I don't understand the shares sticking at exactly 126183 everytime.

The api properly detected a new round but then stopped when it got to 126183 shares.  Weird.
137  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: bitHopper: Python Pool Hopper Proxy on: July 31, 2011, 03:32:00 PM
Is bitcoins.lc playing games again? - web site says 9,987,464 rounds,  json says 138,973

Maybe, or they could just be delaying the update on the website.  They usually delay stats updates for 0-3600 seconds.  If it reaches 200-250k shares and the website doesn't update then there is probably trickery afoot.

Yea, there is trickery I think.  I remember the 126183 number from last time he started messing around.  Apparently he set the same number of shares this time.  Weird.  I disabled them for the moment.
138  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: bitHopper: Python Pool Hopper Proxy on: July 31, 2011, 03:30:54 PM
Running the latest c00w hopper and I see that the "Exp" value is your current shares divided by difficulty.  Wouldn't it be better to do your current shares divided by the total shares of the pool instead?  That way at anytime you could glance to see how much your shares are really worth.

Would be awesome to have a total at the bottom as well where your "Total Expected:" earnings could be added.
139  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MtGox btc price > 1.3 million per bitcoin on: July 31, 2011, 03:20:21 PM

https://mtgox.com/trade/history

The last remotely legitimate trade was at 14.1989$

DAMNIT.  My luck.   Originally had the coins selling at 14.19 but greedily upped it a bit.
140  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MtGox btc price > 1.3 million per bitcoin on: July 31, 2011, 03:13:48 PM
My Sell of 32 BTC @ 13.95$ is still in my account history... coins are gone and money is still on my account.....

My sell of 7.6 BTC @ 14.3 never executed.  WTF.
