Are any Community Members interested in setting up a specialist COMM forum ? It would be a great benefit in the future to organise expanded topics and projects.

I know awesome software for community forum https://github.com/discourse/discourse

https://github.com/discourse/discourse/blob/master/docs/INSTALL-digital-ocean.md

Look at this live http://discuss.emberjs.com/

That looks impressive ! What sort of support/track record ?

I only used it as a user, never installed it. This is very popular gem in a wide Ruby programming language community, so I believe support is awesome.

To show everyone how dumb I am from a technical aspect, does anyone know if a proof of burn concept like implemented in Counterparty where bitcoins are sent to an "unspendable wallet" might be applied to our situation.  DUURRRRRRRR.

-blue

No, because dev can't send coins due to lost wallet.

Response to DigiByte,

Hi and thank you for your response.

Someone recommended you to us as you have helped the Doge community with KGW implementation.

The developer of COMM lost around 200 million coins due to a hard disk failure and as a community we are looking now for someone who can permanently block these coins from being spend.

I agreed with the developer that he would issue a stake of 2 million COMM to whoever is capable and prepared to provide a fix.

COMM is becoming very popular due to the very strict distribution rules - this created a community who really care about it's progress and are supporting each other very closely.
Within 2 weeks it has been listed in 3 exchanges, one of them being Poloniex and shorlty it will be Mintpal. From the following links you will notice that this coin is not a pump and dump coin and that it can have great potential to become even better than Blackcoin:
https://poloniex.com/exchange/btc_comm
https://www.mintpal.com/voting
https://www.coinpayments.net/vote-results

I hope you'd like to be part of this beautiful community and help us fix this 'lost coins' issue that can might hunt the coin and stall it's progress.

Please contact CommunityCoin for your stake and keep us updated

P.S.: If you have any questions please post them here so that other can help you as I do not consider myself the right person to issue you with technical details.

Thank you on behalf of the Community coin

Awesome that you followed my advice! I hope DGB team will help us to stay fair!

CoinPayments.net Community Call to Arms - Voting ends end of day 04/19/14 (Saturday)

The voting on CoinPayments.net is now up to 23 votes but crafty Vertcoin voters have tied us with the same 23 votes.  We need votes for the lead, will the community admit defeat to Vertcoin and roll over to get its stomach scratched by Vertcoin for 2nd place?? Are we a good boy? or a GREAT BOY!! I SAY GREAT!!

My 2nd payment just confirmed, now on the top. Keep on voting, guys.

Just sent my 3rd payment.

@dogeboy do you know if it is a minimum amount of coins you need for them to mint/stake  was unclear on this.

There is no minimum amount. Just hold coins at least for 1 day in a wallet.

If I backup and encryption, even if he can wait my wallet file, the decryption is also need time. If I cold backup, he is hard to get my wallet file.

My wallet is operating normally, and my wallet no encryption, so there is no secret key.As for hidden address, which I do not understand.

Two addresses, I is 2 m, my friend is 1 m,coins are placed in the same wallet, Never sale, also never send any coins to other places, Only a wallet, and has 24 hours to open mining.

How much wallet.dat files of community coin you have? How much PCs running CommunityCoin-Qt using same wallet.dat?

Is mining while the wallet is unlocked safe?

One more question, how do I get pos interests?

I am wondering how you became full member and still don't know basics. COMM is not mineable, it's mintable. Minting is impossible on locked wallet.
You can mine it on multipool (see my posts above) and mp will use BTC to buy and pay you in COMM, there is no reason to unlock wallet just for receiving payouts.

oh, my god, I am so late to know this coin,

I have lost this chance

I am so sad, Cry

Go multipool, ATM coin is cheap, so you'll got more coins.

I pointed to COMM multipool, wondering how I look up my earning?
I can search & see my earning from waffle pool, but I couldn't see that from comm multi pool pages, also, no any transaction into my wallets.

Multipool dev will buy coins manually using your mined altcoins exchanged for BTC. Don't expect automated payouts right now, because we are still voting for mintpal.

But those coins should belong to me right ?
And should payout to my wallet perhaps after we on mintpal??

Yes, you will receive COMM to your wallet, but not often. Every your share counts, don't bother. After mintpal this will be automated, I guess once a day. But currently, BTC-to-COMM will be exchanged manually.

just curious are mining comm or doge?

It's impossible to mine COMM. How COMM multipool works:

1. You are posting your COMM address, multipool generating BTC address for you and keep a record with COMM/BTC pair.
2. You are mining wafflepool (IIRC) actually using this BTC address, then when this pool pays, Dev go to exchange and buy COMM.
3. COMM multipool will send COMM to your wallet.

I guess right now 3 is manual, but will be automated once COMM appears on Mintpal. That's how BlackCoin and FairCoin multipool works.

There is an info http://community.bitcoinland.org/multipool/

Just to make it clear, assume you are using 2 instances of CommunityCoin-Qt with 3M balance at home and at work. At home you sent 1K to somewhere, 2999000 COMM change will go to original address or another hidden one will be created for this change. Now you still have 2999000 COMM. You go to work, opened wallet and realised that there are no coins at all, because your wallet at work now stale and does not contain private key for this hidden address with 2999000 COMM. You are thinking that coins were stolen becase you see -3M transaction. Than you come home, opened wallet and realised that coins are there! Holy cow! You are so happy!
It could be, I don't understand, why people wants to have their wallets on more than 1 computer... thanks for explaining for them

Because I am all in crypto for example, I am trading and mining at home and at work, I have 2 instances of every wallet at home and at work. We are doing it hard with a friend of mine, sometimes I am falling asleep at morning and he taking over because of huge timezone diff with USA. I need my coins accessible from everywhere.

OMG...My friend and I COINS had been stolen ( I was so stupid, did not give the wallet encryption ) Angry

The address of the coin was not moving, strange.
http://www.coinexplorers.com/address/CKW2SYEqWmP5Fit96Qur6Ve5XmBtLyHFNr
hm strange, did you browse porn sites on that pc ? And what about system updates and antivirus ? What OS ? Dont say that win Xp...

Wallet is installed on the computers of the company, mining convenient 24 hours. No browse porn web site. Also installed the anti-virus software(Holistic antivirus also didn't find out the problem).Usually just visit some websites related to virtual currency and download some coins of the client on bitcointalk Forum.

Cannot find a reason. Can only say that I don't Caution.this is a lesson, I'll keep that in mind.

You should be careful with downloading random wallets of 'new' coins. Some are designed to steal your other coins on the computer.

I really need to pay attention in the future, and to do well the wallet encryption and cold backup

Suppose you have a backup of 3million COMM now,how will it work?I mean coins have been moved from your wallet, how can backup help in this situation as its been moved elsewhere.

I guess these coins was not stolen, but on different hidden address and this dude just running stale wallet without this hidden address private key. In this case his wallet will show -3M transaction, if he switch to right copy of wallet.dat he will see that coins are there.

You must backup wallet everytime you sent coins because of these hidden change addresses. I also missed some coins but recovered, and I am happy that I am realised this behaviour, this is how crypto works actually.
how will this crypto ever be accepted as mainstream when all these things you have to know and do just to keep your coins safe? i am fairly new but this whole crypto thing is not what i thought it would be. one thing people complain about banks etc but at least at the bank your money is insured. i am not down on crypto at all but these are just some of my questions i have learned.

This is how it works, some wallets works one way, some another way, I hate this hidden addresses too. For example Hive bitcoin wallet for Mac is deterministic, so change always goes to your well known address, but Bitcoin-Qt works differently. People should spam devs to make Qt wallets deterministic.

By the way, you can always send all your coins to yourself so hidden address became 0 balance and you will have all your coins on main address. Doing so.
