Well, for one thing you should understand that Bitcoin basically dictates everything. Altcoins are NOT decoupled from Bitcoin, but they are strongly correlated.
So, once a full fledged bitcoin rally starts, and the bitcoin trend channel analysis (see for example https://www.tradingview.com/v/Ko4CZ7mn/) predicts a rally with a probability greater than 50% beginning sometime May-July. So what will happen then?

Bitcoin price will skyrocket from 800ish to probably 3000-5000$. That means that the market cap of bitcoin will go from 8 billion to probably 40-50 billion dollars. So about 40 billion new dollars will flood the market. What will this mean for altcoins in general and tips in particular? It means there will be a gigantic flood of noobs with lots of cash wanting to buy cheap coins. The better ones will stand out.
The tips rebranding should be long finished by then. With all those features, tips will be among the better coins.

If only 0.5% of the newcomers put their money into tips, yes only 0.5%, that's already about 200 million dollars. Tips market cap is currently 400k$. Now you can do your math. Ok, let's be more conservative. Say, only 0.1% put their money into tips. That's still a staggering 40 million dollars, 100x the current market cap!!! So the price could (nothing is 100% certain) rise to 1000 Litoshi. That is my basic estimate. That is why I'll never ever sell my tips. Every dip I buy more. Actually I'm happy that tips is so low now, I'll buy more btc and put even more into tips 

Don't let all those trolls get to you. They actually just want to spread fear, so that you panick sell your coins cheap. Then they can buy more at a lower price.

Unfortunately people are quite stupid in general. They're basic logic is this: I like this coin, it's price is high. It is hyped, everyone talks about it, it must be good! I think I'm gonna buy it.

Wow, there is really a lot of hate against this coin. Why? Any specific reason?

A necessary prerequisite for us ever seeing this price is a bitcoin rally in mid 2014. Like the last one in October-December 2013. A huge inflow
of new money will be the consequence. Just look at the charts what happened in November. Many of the alts were trading in very low regimes, then
all alts skyrocketed. Really all of them. Now of course, there are many more alts since then. But the inflow of new money will be also 4-5 times as high.
I suppose bitcoin price will reach 5000 dollars at some point in July-August this year. If this happens, and that is always a big if, tips will probably go to
about 1000 Litoshi just because billions and billions of dollars will be pumped into the altcoin market.

Tips has a low market cap of 400k $. I think that it is very easy for tips to reach 40 million market cap in a rally, maybe even more. So my guesstimate is
then 1000 Litoshi. Could be only 500. But the prerequisite for that is a bitcoin rally.

If bitcoin does not rally this year or we'll be in a bear market, then tips will stay at this price level, unfortunately.

Addition: This of course under the premise of a BTC bull market and a new rally in 2014.

And yes, rebranding and dropping the Fedora thing altogether would really help. Else, we will stay in the low 10ish Litoshis for weeks.

Some people here really seem to be upset because they made some bad trading decisions. Buying at 50 Satoshi? Well, bad decision, plain and simple.
Don't make the coin responsible. Look at other coins, how massively they fell during the last weeks. Auroracoin fell by a factor of 10, worldcoin, digitalcoin, anoncoin, etc.
All fell like hell. Are they shitcoins also? No. So, just because you were obviously burned by a bad trading decision, you shouldn't make the coin responsible. Go and rant somewhere else, will ya?

I'd say that's a pretty realistic scenario. Not too optimistic even, a quite reasonable and normal scenario.

Agreed! Unfortunately there are too many noobs in crypto that do the exact opposite of the sane and logical choice.
They panick sell when price is low, and panick buy when it is high. That is why we see these wild price swings of coins that have a relatively low market cap of a few hundred k $.

However, tips does hold a lot of potential, that's why I'm not concerned at all.
Yes, the marketing could be better, but from what I catched up the last weeks here in this forum, the devs and community are
working hard on the rebranding, new website, etc. It will be awesome!

Now, as many of you no doubt have guessed, many coins are down because we are in a bear market right now. BTC is falling, many coins do the same.
Once BTC starts rising, so will good altcoins like tips. Once the huge inflow of new money from BTC starts, tips will be a natural choice for newcomers and price
will shoot up. Then we shall have our BTC market. It will be no problem getting to the 350 Litoshi regime 
Just be patient, young padawans.

Yes, price crashed. But so did 50 other alts. They also crashed.

A crash just means a good buying opportunity. But noobs of course panick sell when price crashes,

I for one think that this coin is not dead, far from it. The same has been said about many coins. Hell, even LTC was called dead last year when it went only downhill for half a year.
And then it went from 2$ to 50$ in a week.
I will patiently hold this coin, even if it has to be for months. There will come the point when it will be valued much higher than now?
Why? Because in the next BTC rally, a lot of new noobs will flood the altcoin market and they will buy any coin they get their hands on, like crazy maniacs.
The same happened in November last year.

Sure it's a gamble, but I think getting into LOT now could turn out quite well.

Just because craptsy is thinking about removing COL (I don't even know how certain that is), doesn't mean that COL will die. Far from it.
The development continues, and this coin just keeps getting better and better.

Also, don't forget that cryptsy is flooding the markets with total crapcoins. They keep adding pump&dump shitcoins on a weekly basis. It's ridiculous.
Yet, they want to remove a well established coin. They will want to have it back badly in 1 year, that's for sure!

I agree, these pump&dump coins, often premined, are totally draining the market of good alts like LOT. It's sad to watch, but on the other hand, it represents a good buying opportunity.
When enough people get burned by these pump&dump schemes, they will get old and eventually die out.

Only good coins will be left, aurora, spain, etc will just die out.

New alts will get more scarce and eventually very few new alts will come into existence.

Then the money will flow back into good and undervalued alts, LOT, DGC, ANC, etc.
All of them are down, all of them will rise again when people have enough of those pump&dump scamcoins.
