121  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: 🔴🔴[BOUNTY] VOLENTIX | MULTI-PLATFORM ECOSYSTEM | 5-MILLION VTX | $500,000 🔴🔴 on: October 18, 2018, 09:06:12 PM
I hope all is well with this project. First it was BountySuite relinquishing the management of this bounty, now there's a reset more like, and bounty is extending to February 2019. What are the guarantees this won't be waste of time??

For signature bounty, can a copper member join as member?
122  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about buy Pools ICO on: October 17, 2018, 09:12:05 PM
In this era of scams, I can not trust my money with some random people on the internet in the name of a pool. I'd rather invest in a project directly and have control over my investments, rather than chase huge bonuses and lose my capital
123  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: After ICO on: October 17, 2018, 03:29:23 PM
Hello all,

There's one thing I have ever noticed, after ico the token price dropped drastically could anyone explain why such is happening...
Eg, there are some tokens are I have in my wallet which I want to trade since then till now I have been waiting for the price to come up but instead decreasing. What do I do in this scenario?

I'm sure a lot of people can relate to this. It's actually the current trend and it's been on like this for over 8 months now. I have coins in one of my wallets which have almost become dust in terms of price. Sometimes, they go a whole week without volume of trade in those coins.

A lot of factors cause the drop in price of those coins. They range from dumping from private sales investors alongside their huge bonuses to lack of updates from the team and devs on the project. These project may as well be scams too. You might have to check their community to see what's going on in there and they're talking about.

I advise you check for updates on those projects whose coins you're hodling. If it's gotten to a situation where the team have simply gone quiet for a long time, then that's a red flag, and you need to make huge decisions of cutting your losses and moving on.

VISA and MasterCard tighten the requirements for the issuers of the bitcoin cards
Read more: https://www.xmlgold.eu/en/news/article/760/visa-and-mastercard-tighten-requirements-bitcoin-cards-issuers/
They can try as much as they want to stall the upcoming surge of the everyday usage of bitcoin but they can't run away too far. In the end no matter what happens there will be a time when bitcoin exchanges or wallets or banks or whatever you want to call it will have a system like mobile payment app or sorts and we will see a lot of new stuff for payment as well which would allow people to do all of this without the worry of visa or mastercard doing whatever they want to.

The only thing required is one crypto company and one bank agreeing on working globally on a mobile app that would allow people to do this, that's it. One agreement, one deal, one contract. As soon as that happens we are off to the races.

Financial companies such as them are only afraid that cryptocurrencies will take a market share in their lone of business which is being a payment option. And as you say they can only run away too far from it as more people and establishments will come to accept cryptocurrencies as payments and soon enough they will make and easier method to issue such cards.

Reading that news from Visa and Mastercard, what you have posited is what I can deduce from it. They are indeed afraid of cryptocurrencies and see them as a threat to their continued existence in the long run.
125  Economy / Economics / Re: Is technical analysis negatively affecting cryptocurrencies? on: October 16, 2018, 10:38:21 PM
I have to say upfront that I'm no fan of technical analysis, even in traditional asset markets. There are 2 main reasons for this:
1) There is no scientific proof that technical analysis works at all. The only correlation between technical analysis and true market movements is that it is widely believed. And this leads to the next point
2) TA is a self-fulfilling prophecy. If people stopped believing in it, it would stop working right away. If people find new patterns they only start actually working once they get enough traction for other people to believe in them.

This is somewhat of a problem in traditional assets, but it is just a minor nuisance. The fundamental values of traditional assets always strike back, no matter what TA says. Found resistance? Doesn't matter if the underlying value shoots way up due to increasing sales, usage or whatever. Glad a value has some support? Doesn't matter if sales drop to near-zero, the price does not care about support.

At cryptocurrencies, however, those fundamental values don't work as there are rarely any. Most companies behind cryptocurrencies either have no product that is close to justifying their volume and value. Some of them (Bitcoin amongst them) do not even want to have one. Therefore they are subject to constant influence by those religiously believing in TA, which makes them an object of pure speculation. The fundamental values are "news", no matter the level of reliance.

In my opinion, this holds cryptocurrencies from being a usable and reliable method for everyday transaction use.

What is your view on this?

You're absolutely spot on this one. Even a TA expert I respect so much once told me there are times TA don't work in crypto, and I've seen it happen several times, especially for low priced coins. For me, I believe the fundamentals (news, updates, partnerships, etc.) play a major role in crypto and determines to a very large extent the price movements of individual crypto assets.
126  Economy / Economics / Re: Transferring of wealth from the impatient to the patient! on: October 16, 2018, 10:30:14 PM
Like the old saying goes. 'Patience is a virtue..' It is needed as both a trader and a hodler. But, there are always two kinds of people in the crypto space, the trader and the hodler. It is always important to distinguish between a hodl portfolio and a trading portfolio. Once this is determined and clearly spelt out, then clear timelines must be set to tell how long the coins in that portfolio are going to be held. This applies to a trading portfolio as well, setting take profits points and staying patient till the trade hits TP is very important.

But in situations where the portfolio is being adversely threatened by drastic market downtrend, it is important to know when to exit the market, and in this case, exercising additional patience may cause you to lose everything. So there's the place of patience and the place of wisdom
127  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: 🔴🚀[BOUNTY] BXB.IO : $400,000 worth of BXT tokens on: October 16, 2018, 10:14:46 PM
Hi, Cryptomilz and Bttzed03, Kwun here, CEO of BXB. Thanks for bringing those issues up and we understand your concerns and worries. Let me address the issues:

ICO Presale: We will not be having a presale, and any questions regarding our token, please refer to our whitepaper. Our token will be listed when our platform launches in a few weeks, please stay tuned.

Telegram: Regarding the 17,000 group this was a testing group that was formed with our partners (brokers, asset managers, public chain, etc) for final testing purposes. However you are welcome to join our official telegram group here:  http://t.me/BXBexchange

Team: We have a strong team. The best way to see the strength and capabilities of our team is to download and try our products. We are the very first exchange to launch with so many unique and innovative products in this market so far. I am very confident in this.

Hope you enjoy our products and welcome aboard!

- Kwun CEO of BXB

On my end, this answer is definitely not enough. Novadays there is no legit ICO project that wants to stay anonymous. 99% of anonymous ICO turned into a scam!

Still a big red flag!

Wapinter - please be careful - money and earnings are not the most important.

I went to the Wapinter telegram group and registered my concerns. I guess that prompted the anonymous CEO to create a account on here to respond.

Like you've pointed out, I'm equally not satisfied with the response. These days projects with visible teams turn out to be shady, talk more of an anonymous team. This is a definitely a big NO for me.
128  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: 🔴🚀[BOUNTY] BXB.IO : $400,000 worth of BXT tokens on: October 16, 2018, 02:51:52 PM
Hello bounty manager,

May I ask why you accepted this bounty campaign even if the team behind this project is unknown?
There is no mention of a token sale yet on the website but if they open up an ICO, don't you think the campaign would fail given that investors nowadays are smarter and would not just put their money to a project without a verified team?

Also, the telegram already has over 17,000 members but twitter only has 5 followers and facebook only has over 800. Was the telegram from an old project that was just renamed?

Now this is the product of doing one's research before joining a project. I noticed the same thing red flags too when the project was posted on the Wapinter bounty telegram group. One would expect that an experienced team bounty manager like Wapinter would his diligence before accepting a job like this. Let's wait to hear from him. I might as well confront them about it on the telegram group. Good job for bringing this up mate.
129  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is the USDT crashing? on: October 15, 2018, 08:40:55 AM
It is just one more useless information. Nothing will happen with Tether, after such long period of flat such a growth is a normal behavior on the market.

For me, I think this is just FUD, even though there has been claims that USDT isn't backed by any fiat or bank deposits unlike it's TUSD counterpart that's back by bank deposits. Again, the crypto space responds to news and because it's very spontaneous most of the times, there was massive response by the whales accordingly
130  Economy / Economics / Re: Impact of USDC - Circle - & other Stable coins. Dangerous. on: October 15, 2018, 08:31:58 AM
Stable coins are not a danger to the market, they are a danger to anyone dealing with them!!!

Just quoting myself here... Grin

How do you like the "stable" coins now?
If I remember correctly, people claimed tether was a safe haven, to protect your assets and other stuff like this.

A 8% drop in a matter of hours, the "stable" coin acts like the Bolivar right now

If only they knew..there was consistent accusations of tether being printed in very questionable numbers over a period of time. This is definitely a red flag. Woke up to the to drop this morning, seeing BTC surge in price. I guess a lot of people where moving their assets to other stablecoins like TUSD
131  Economy / Economics / Re: What do you think about crypto currency issued by the government? on: October 14, 2018, 11:18:01 PM
It is said that central banks plan to release their own curypto currency in some countries, for example Japan..

How do you think about these crypto?

Government issued cryptos will one way or the other be centralized, everything about it will determined by the government, the supply, the price, transactions using it will hardly be anonymous as it's obtained in the decentralized world of crypto
132  Economy / Economics / Re: You Can Now Keep Your Bitcoins In A Bank on: October 14, 2018, 11:15:21 PM
One way or the other these banks want control. Of what use are ETFs if banks now give some sort of paper guarantees while they hold on to the intangible? This for me is a trap and it's the wealthy individuals that might fall for it as they it would be a more secure means of acquiring some BTC
133  Economy / Economics / Re: harmonization of fiat and crypto on: October 13, 2018, 11:12:54 PM
Harmonization of fiat and crypto where both currencies are existing side by side is what I feel can happen. Cryptos will hardly replace fiats, certainly not this world we live in. Fiats are symbolic of different countries they emanate from. It's their identity and what makes different governments powerful as they have absolute control over it. Central governments of countries will not be to have control crypto as a currency, this poses a big problem.
134  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: A Question To All Signature Bounty Hunters! on: October 13, 2018, 11:06:29 PM
I would like to become a signature bounty hunter. How do you find potential deals and how do you make them happen?  Huh

There are threads filtered outs and with bounties as they get launched. There are also ICO review sites where you can find potential projects with bounties running. Learn to DYOR and trust your guts. Always remember a bounty can look all good but it's a potential scam, so be careful out there. All the best.

136  Economy / Economics / Re: Today is 10/10/18, the rise of the Phoenix according to The Economist on: October 12, 2018, 11:37:25 AM
I haven't read about the Phoenix theory/prediction, did it predict that by October 10th, 2018 we'd all be using a universal currency?

Bitcoin can be that currency but we're certainly not all using it. Most of us that own it aren't even using it as a currency, let alone the FACT that most people in this world ignore it and don't even want to own it.

Sorry I'm being negative, but it's the truth. They just don't see the value.....yet.

Same here..I'm just hearing this prediction for the first time today. For Bitcoin to be the world unified currency, there certainly needs to be wide spread adoption in various countries of the world. Again, I have serious doubts this is even feasible, there may be a universal currency but maybe not a cryptocurrency.
137  Economy / Economics / Re: Global Financial Meltdown Imminent? on: October 12, 2018, 11:16:09 AM
Did you also happen to read the second part of his tweet?

Quote
Not because I have any special knowledge or even actually think that, but so that I can have a ~25% (or whatever) chance of later being publicly acclaimed as "a guru who predicted the last financial crisis".

We'll see it when it happens. I'm sure something will collapse in the upcoming years, but there's no point in trying to predict it.

I'm not a financial guru either but I think there's a looming economic collapse and I'm not bothering myself about it either. The world survived the last one and will it survive another. I just wish crypto becomes the safe haven during the period, imagine the impact and the adoption that will follow.
138  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptopia shitcoin purge - boom 17 coins gone for good. on: October 10, 2018, 08:45:57 PM
Binance did same thing for about three coins yesterday or so.

https://support.binance.com/hc/en-us/articles/360017720731

Cryptopia did a cleansing I think Grin. The crypto world is the wild wild west. You wake up one day and investments gone down the drain!
139  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How Far are we from the bull run on: October 10, 2018, 08:39:46 PM
Its been about 8 month since we are in bloodbath. market has not shown any signs of recovery till yet. what do you think that what december will bring to us.. ?

In my opinion, I think it's hard to say if the market is recovering or not. Save for the stability in the price of BTC, there's no clear sign there's going to be a bull run in the coming months. For there to be any major bull run, new money needs to come into the market by way of institutional investments.
140  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN]Genius Investment - Daily 5% Profit on: October 10, 2018, 08:16:56 PM
This reeks of ponzi from a mile. Be careful of any investment that guarantees daily constant returns is a potential scam, once you confront the OP with such scam claims, they refer you to the contract code. This is more like recurrent decimal now.
