121  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: MTGox Official Statement 03-03-2014 on: March 03, 2014, 09:33:18 AM
You will all be very surprised when Gox.com re-launches in a few weeks time!

122  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: A consensus network, or how to stop a big lose (fork it!) on: March 03, 2014, 06:22:41 AM
fork you
123  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [GOX] BRAKING NEWS: Karpeles admits he is "Working on" retrieving cold storage!! on: March 03, 2014, 06:20:45 AM
So how come their 'Liabilities' in the dodgy document, just magically equals the amount that was 'stolen'?

WTF?
124  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: A List of Quality Questions for MT.Gox to Answer on: March 03, 2014, 06:06:43 AM
I called them
They don't answer shit
125  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: MTGox Official Statement Tomorrow + Phone support on: March 03, 2014, 04:02:26 AM
Ok i was on hold for 20 minutes then a Japanese woman answered, spoke to me in Japanese and then said hang on a minute, then she put me on hold, then she hung up.

UPDATE:

OK second attempt I got through.
A softly spoken, hypnosis-inducing Japanese lady spoke to me.
She basically said there is no information and to check the website for updates.
Basically pointless to call them.
126  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: The US Govt stole your coins - not MtGox on: March 02, 2014, 11:25:57 PM
If Japanese Government finds out this was a US black op, maybe they can refund the coins!!!
I mean Bitcoin is after all a secret project of the Japanese Government to take over global finance.
127  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Losing 1000+ bitcoins per day ? How can that go unnoticed ? on: March 02, 2014, 11:18:32 PM
How does this go unnoticed:

(From Mark Karpeles dodgy document:)
Liabilities
Bitcoins 2,000 BTC
in the Hot Wallet
624,408 BTC(Customers)
+120 000 ( MtGox)
- 80 208 BTC
From banned or suspicious accounts

TOTAL: 744,408 BTC

AND "At this point 744,408 BTC are missing due to malleability-related theft which went
unnoticed for several years."

Oops, same number.
128  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Instawallet claim process on: March 02, 2014, 11:16:59 PM
Dear Instawallet users,

I am a co-founder of Paymium, the company behind Instawallet.

We have now finished our analysis of the events that lead to the suspension of the service.
An intruder was able to access the instawallet database. As a result, all "hidden" urls, i.e wallets, have been compromised and are no longer safe to store bitcoins.
Funds were stolen: a police report was filed by Paymium with BEFTI ( Brigade d’Enquêtes sur les Fraudes aux Technologies de l’Information, a unit of the French "Police Judiciaire") and an investigation is in progress.
Computer forensic analysis is in progress with independent auditors.
We will be able to refund all instawallet balances up to 50 BTC per wallet.
In the next few days we are going to open the claim process for Instawallet balance holders to claim the funds they had stored before the service interruption.

Important information on claims submission:

1. For the first 90 days we will accept claims for individual Instawallets. Your wallet's URL and key will be used to pre-populate a form to file the claim.

2. After 90 days, if no other claim has been received for the same url, your Instawallet balance under 50 BTC will be refunded.
If several claims have been filed for the same url, we will process those claims on a case by case basis, under the presumption that the claim we received first belongs to the legitimate balance holder.

3. Claims for wallets that hold a balance greater than 50 BTC will be processed on a case by case and best efforts basis.
The number of such wallets represents less than 0.5% of the number of funded wallets in our records.
In other words, 99.5% of instawallets will be fully refunded.

If you file a claim with Paymium, please do not contact us regarding your claim until the 90-day period has elapsed.
We will need to wait the end of the period to send the refunds as some people might have forgotten about their instawallet and need time to retrieve it.

Thanks for your patience and understanding.

EDIT:
The reason some of you have not seen their payout is simply that they did not approve the proposed payout.
We need discharge from the people we pay out otherwise there is no way to remove the liability from our books.
The discharge is required also because the database might have been tampered with: even though it may be minimal and partial, there is a non zero probability that the proposed amount does not match the expected amount.
Payouts may be approved until the end of the year. Unapproved payouts will be considered as donations after the end of the year.
A sendmany transaction will be sent  in January 2014 to those who filed a claim on time but failed to approve their payout so far.
To approve a payout, simply visit your wallet page (do not forget to type https://www.instawallet.org/w/yourwalletsecreturl in full). Thanks for your cooperation in getting these claims resolved.

Can you please call Mark Karpeles and suggest he does the same courtesy to his customers?
129  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [GOX] BRAKING NEWS: Karpeles admits he is "Working on" retrieving cold storage!! on: March 02, 2014, 11:11:16 PM
It is mind-blowing that the world is buying some story from a document that was NOT mad by Gox claiming that all their coins were stolen,
while at the same time the CEO says that the he has 'identified the problem' and is 'working on it'

Also 90,000 BTC has been traced to still be in Gox's wallets:

SEE: http://letstalkbitcoin.com/the-ghost-in-the-machine-at-mtgox/#.UxO4FV65Jlv
WALLET 1: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=494761.0
WALLET 2: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=492776.0

Also I cannot believe that I am the only person who has noticed this is the dodgy document:

Liabilities
Bitcoins 2,000 BTC
in the Hot Wallet
624,408 BTC(Customers)
+120 000 ( MtGox)
- 80 208 BTC
From banned or suspicious accounts

TOTAL: 744,408 BTC

AND "At this point 744,408 BTC are missing due to malleability-related theft which went
unnoticed for several years."

So their total liabilities INCLUDING a reduction due to accounts they have chosen to ban just so happens to come to the EXACT SAME figure that they claim was 'STOLEN'? Excuse me?
130  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: MTGox Official Statement Tomorrow + Phone support on: March 02, 2014, 10:53:03 PM
Everyone should be asking about Gox's 2 wallets that have been discovered to contain 90,000 BTC:

Wallets:

I will be.
131  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [GOX] A consensus network, or how to stop a big lose (fork it!) on: March 02, 2014, 10:46:25 PM
In the light of possible collapse of value of Bitcoin, what do you people think it will happen to strongest alt-coins out there: LTC, PPC... Would they suffer the same fate, or they will shoot up so hard?

Definitely LTC. Buy LOTS while you still can!
132  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING AN APPLICATION FOR COMMENCEMENT OF A PROCEDURE OF CIVIL R on: March 02, 2014, 08:40:39 AM
My Lawyer has said that he can arrange for us to be part of this creditor process. I will post back here tomorrow an update on what can/can't be done during that process. Unless anyone here knows what it means... weird how quiet this thread is...?? This is the latest news!
133  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Support a Bailout for (MT)Gox.com on: March 02, 2014, 08:38:57 AM
What could actually motivate anyone with the resources to bail them out?

Other than turning over $400 million worth of cash,  only to cover existing debts,  with probably in return --- most likely nothing other than potential legal problems....

If you want to get into the exchange business,  the amount of cash it would require to bailout Gox,  would probably get you started within 12 months as a compelling alternative/replacement.

Maybe their 1 million customers? Who are all ready and waiting to start trading again and paying maybe $5 to $20 per trade?
So what's that $20,000,000 in the first week?

Hmmmm... wonder why anyone would want to buy up Gox!
134  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [REWARD] Find The Cold Storage Wallets Of MtGox Before Supposed Theft on: March 02, 2014, 08:35:24 AM
i see this was febr the 3rd. Didn't gox shut down withdrawals AFTER febr the 3rd?
How would you know if this isn't just some normal guy who withdrew 5  BTC of the exchange?

Isn't it a bit of a co-incidence that I sent exactly 5 coins and then somebody else withdrew exactly 5 coins from the same wallet?
135  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Keiser Report: New Crypto Phenomenon Ethereum on: March 02, 2014, 05:56:50 AM
I just installed and ran it on OSX and it doesn't work!
136  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Chicago man lobs class-action sueball at MtGox on: March 02, 2014, 05:30:29 AM
They cannot be sued while they are re-structuring. They have not filed for bankruptcy. The main stream media are a bunch of incompetent morons who can't read properly. "Bankruptcy Protection"
137  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING AN APPLICATION FOR COMMENCEMENT OF A PROCEDURE OF CIVIL R on: March 02, 2014, 04:47:32 AM
Thanks,

From what I understand, this at least means that Gox are trying to re-organise and re-launch, as was hinted in the dodgy document.
Personally I hope they succeed and can credit everyone with their Bitcoins and Fiat again, even if they do that with tight withdrawal limits, then all is not lost for so many people which can only be a good thing. All the Gox-haters should really try to refrain from saying how happy they are that Gox is close to collapse. It's not happy for the thousands of people who have lost major amounts of money. All we want is to get our money back. I don't mind waiting 6 months if I have to. On top of that, Bitcoin needs as many Exchanges as possible to keep diversity and strength. How can them failing be a good thing? Yes they were tragically disorganized, but with new management anything can happen right? I hope investors decide to help them re-structure and continue. If they re-launch under new management with tighter security etc, it will only mean good things for Bitcoin.

Here is some info about Civil rehabilitation if anyone is interested:

138  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [REWARD] Find The Cold Storage Wallets Of MtGox Before Supposed Theft on: March 02, 2014, 04:44:47 AM
Not sure if this helps anything, but I JUST TRACED BITCOINS I SENT TO GOX ON:

2014-02-03 06:29:00

SENT 5 BTC TO Mt.GOX ADDRESS: 1CdiTM1BCifFB5KpW8L5t51PUL8NW7vW9E

TRANSACTION: https://blockchain.info/address/1CdiTM1BCifFB5KpW8L5t51PUL8NW7vW9E

NEXT my 5 BTC get's sent to: 1GvYWVRPyq2mQFf8w64DZtyX4ekK5taa1d

https://blockchain.info/address/1GvYWVRPyq2mQFf8w64DZtyX4ekK5taa1d

NEXT my 5 BTC get's sent to: 1NRUPGCqCX56DvVptV2dvNPS2UwZMsUXvA

https://blockchain.info/address/1NRUPGCqCX56DvVptV2dvNPS2UwZMsUXvA

They are still sitting there.
Just 2 transactions away from where I sent them: to Gox. How can that be theft? Any serious cyber criminal would have immediately sent all the stolen coins through thousands of different addresses to confuse everyone. Not 2. ! This does not shout theft to me at all. Just Pure fuckup.

And yes, I sent coins to Gox 4 days before they shut down withdrawals. Merrry Fucking Christmas.
139  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [GOX] Crime Scene Investigation, Case #MG744 on: March 02, 2014, 04:25:32 AM
OK I JUST TRACED BITCOINS I SENT TO GOX ON:

2014-02-03 06:29:00

SENT 5 BTC TO Mt.GOX ADDRESS: 1CdiTM1BCifFB5KpW8L5t51PUL8NW7vW9E

TRANSACTION: https://blockchain.info/address/1CdiTM1BCifFB5KpW8L5t51PUL8NW7vW9E

NEXT my 5 BTC get's sent to: 1GvYWVRPyq2mQFf8w64DZtyX4ekK5taa1d

https://blockchain.info/address/1GvYWVRPyq2mQFf8w64DZtyX4ekK5taa1d

NEXT my 5 BTC get's sent to: 1NRUPGCqCX56DvVptV2dvNPS2UwZMsUXvA

https://blockchain.info/address/1NRUPGCqCX56DvVptV2dvNPS2UwZMsUXvA

AND IT IS STILL THERE!

SO WHY CAN'T I CLAIM THAT BACK IN COURT?

It hasn't been stolen, it is just sitting in some dormant wallet of Gox's.
140  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Mtgox auto-signs with a 437522 BTC wallet?!? on: March 02, 2014, 03:59:54 AM
Say, I pay someone using Mtgox withdrawal and see the payment getting filled by the following address:

http://blockexplorer.com/address/16eRAfcohaLsTzoDSnLejjqMZMDQezxFEi

What the...? Shouldn't such sums be in cold storage? That's something like 5% of all existing Bitcoins in a single key, who will pay if that key gets stolen?

Edit: hell, didn't Gox have "lol Bitcoins sent to null" before? That transaction transmitted the whole bunch of them, imagine a software error occurs there! Yes, the transfer happened with neat speed, quite fast for an operation that I would manually check if I was in the position of operating on more than 400k BTC.

5000 BTC of this ended up here and is still there:
