Hm? which miner On https://bitcoinle.org, next to the "Download Wallet" button there is a "Download Miner" button. But there isn't a miner download link on the Github page Isn't that the old reference miner? Get one of the new ones. |

I was told, and believe, that the extra bandwidth usage is coming from chain updates because we're all full nodes. I have 25 wallets of different coins, and none of them will touch the usage of BBP client.
Not sure why it only updates in outgoing direction. One would think the communication would be two-way, which makes me wonder about what's happening.
Typically, about 1GB per day, and we are metered here, so it eats into the monthly allotment.
So with the end of heat mining, can we expect our network usage to go down also? Or will it always be like this?
Well we are all full nodes with the full chain, but we are only full nodes if we have a firewall forwarding port 40000 to the fullnode. If you look at tools | info, see if you have inbound connections. That will tell you if you are servicing other nodes both ways (IE accepting new users connections, people who aren't synced yet). But lets try to hone in on this - you having multiple wallets will be very valuable to diagnose this. Could you take a look at the tools | network traffic tab in biblepay, and compare it for 24 hours to one of your other popular coins and tell us the difference in outbound traffic? As far as the future, we are technically retiring podc (not heat mining, actually heat mining would be getting more popular with us- since more POBH users will jump on for POG). The only bandwidth change would be less consumed by boinc and the boinc client and the boinc programs. You would see an increase in node count, but this new bandwidth draw would be shared across the new nodes also. Id like to know the baselines first before we assign a dev to add the feature that monitors the bandwidth by messagetype. I'll set up a test today. Just need to remember which wallets have a built-in network monitor. Is the monitor in BBP client for the whole machine, or just the BBP's usage? |

Well, it depends on what user are you (if I am reading correctly) I'm still wondering how will be possible to keep the network stable, keeping this Tube prices, impossible, cause miners will choose other coins Now you've got me wondering also... |

I use 1050ti's. It's strange that it stays at 35% no matter. It's not a huge chunk of processing power. It's just odd that it wouldn't rest more. I'm on an ancient i7 with hyperthreading.
Is there any config I have to set? It's working the CPU fine, but doesn't seem to see my GPUs?
It's really cool we have competing pools + more miner choices. Nice work.
Edit: Found the issue, it was another app running that was pushing the GPU somehow. When I shut it down, it started seeing the GPU again.

Hold off on AMD, for a bit (says the nvidea miner). Just installed, first share was a block! I notice it's using a nice chunk of CPU, even in between race periods? |

I hate to say it, but if the reason for the reband is to get away "sucka" in English, using "sin" is not a whole lot better.

I'm curious why we're not using discord as much as other coins. It works really well for one-on-one troubleshooting and the devs can have their chat room also.
As a point of reference, 100% of the people I've talked to about this coin and getting involved had the same feedback:
The ANN thread is a mess, a complete nightmare to try and understand what's happening.
I tend to agree, and don't push back against this viewpoint because it appears valid. It makes it appear that the project is spinning out of control I think.
Go back and read the last 5-10 pages. Go do it. It's incoherent and disorganized.
I'm not here to criticize, but why is it almost every other coin uses Discord in the correct way? I feel people shouldn't clog up an ANN thread with "I need help" posts. And the devs don't need to muddy the waters with technical conversations that would be handled different in Discord.
Think about your audience. If we're just having technical decisions to add pages to this thread, it will show.
It's like we're just thinking about how cool we can make things, and have completely forgotten how to have a discussion that a new lurker might have at least a slight chance of understanding.
If we don't understand our audience, I believe we deserve to lose them.

It's not much of use. The wallet addresses get passed in the URL for all to see, whether HTTP or HTTPS. Why does nobody take the time to better obscure the addresses? One of life's mysteries... |
