123  Economy / Goods / Re: Spend bitcoins on amazon, Go Daddy, barnes & noble, etc with no transaction fees on: October 03, 2011, 11:07:44 PM
+Another satisfied customer.  Why convert to USD through an exchange which takes a cut when I buy things on amazon anyway.  Very easy process to spend btc at market rate with no fees, I will definitely use SBC again.
124  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANNOUNCE] Tenebrix, a CPU-friendly, GPU-hostile cryptocurrency on: September 27, 2011, 11:06:12 PM
Given that there are 7,700,000 premined coins in this chain and the target is 7200 coins per day (25 coins per block * 12 blocks/hr * 24 hours=7200 coins)...and 7,700,00 / 7200 = 1069 days until the network catches up to the number of premined coins....hmmm 3 years.

Thanks for checking on this, I had a half hope but now i'm sure this is just another scam chain.

i thought xfired cards were slower than the sum of their parts?  Please let us know if you'll part out the cards, and if you can do a face to face transaction with bitcoin.
127  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Announcing bitgem.org, buy and speculate on precious stones (Pegged to BTC!) on: August 04, 2011, 12:13:41 AM
Sorry but I dont think anyone wants to trust an anon with BTC anymore.  Reveal your ID and address, because "trusted" community sites are known to disappear with their BTC.  Until a company has a real world verifiable identity and address, nobody should trust it.

131  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: First commercial ASIC miner specifications and pre-launch on: July 23, 2011, 06:31:06 PM
Since this is being made in China, I'll wait for the manufacturer to release their own pirated versions which cost 10x less.  The first wave of buyers take on the scam risk, as well as pay an early adopter tax.
132  Economy / Goods / Re: For Sale: 2x ATI HD 5770's on: July 21, 2011, 12:56:19 AM
are you near northern california?  I'd like to do a face to face transfer in btc or cash.

edit: Are these the 2 5770s you have been running for a while which are mentioned in your previous posts?

134  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~2700 GH/sec] BTC Guild - 0% Fees, Long polling, SSL, JSON API, and more on: July 06, 2011, 05:31:14 AM
Just want to thank you for your hard work and I'll be back with a high donate percentage when things settle down.  After trying all the pools, BTCguild has won me over with the user interface and stats.

137  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: graphics card in PCI x1 on: June 25, 2011, 08:51:50 PM
I've been using dremeled 1x extenders and here is my experience:

on an older motherboard (asus p5k deluxe) none of the cards were detected.

on my miner with a newer mobo (asrock something) one card was detected right away and the other one I had to reseat several times and restart the computer each time before it finally recognized the card attached.  Im afraid to move that card/extender because it might sever the connection.

so check the connection, or maybe it's a motherboard problem.  You do need a dummy plug or you can make your own with resistors, but even without a plug, the device should show in device manager.
138  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: What PSU do you use with a 4 GPU rig? on: June 24, 2011, 06:50:38 AM
a 35 dollar PSU, 600 watts.  powering 2x 5830 and 2x 5770 for a total 1ghash.

How are you powering the four cards? The specs I read show only 2 x PCIe 6+2 cables.  You must be using adapters.

Yes the built in pcie cables power the 5830s (2 plugs each card), and I use 2-molex>1-6pin adapters that came with 5770s to power them.  the 5770s only need a single 6pin.

a 35 dollar PSU, 600 watts.  powering 2x 5830 and 2x 5770 for a total 1ghash.

Underclocked single core sempron, no hard drives.  running linuxcoin via usb stick and 3x fans to keep things below 70c.

Hey Gabriel, I recently bought one of your shirts.  Once I get it, I'd like to leave a positive review.  Perhaps you can add a review section to your site to add a level of trust?  Trustworthy and legitimate stores are something lacking in BTC at the moment.
