A few years ago, it was all a bit easier.
But since all the governments see how much money there is in Bitcoin, everyone is of course in it to exercise a certain state control over what the "good" citizens do with their hard-earned money....

Big Brother is watching you...  Smiley

122  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What do you think about staking? on: November 13, 2021, 03:22:21 PM
I think staking is great. However, only if I can stake the corresponding coins myself using the corresponding wallet.
From experience, I don't trust platforms. Especially to store large sums of my money there for a long time.

Not your keys, not your coins!

I can recommend "Tron (TRX)" if you want to try staking.
The associated "TronLink-Wallet" is user-friendly, you can use it for staking directly and you have complete control over your private keys.
In addition, the coins are only "locked" for 3 days after you have staked them. after that, they can theoretically be used again immediately.

There are also other staking coins where you have to lock your money for longer time, before it's spendeble again....

124  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Why have Satoshi's early mined coins an unusual nonce value distribution? on: November 13, 2021, 02:53:09 AM
Before asking the question, I want to mention that even US courts are interested in this:

Gavin Andresen's deposition (For those who don't know him: Andresen was the lead developer for a part of the bitcoin digital currency project ... Andresen discovered bitcoin in 2010 ...  After joining the developers contributing to Bitcoin along with Satoshi Nakamoto, he went on to become lead developer of the client software for the bitcoin network. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gavin_Andresen)

https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.flsd.521536/gov.uscourts.flsd.521536.589.3.pdf (page 31)
...
Question: Are you aware of any patterns within the blockchain that would reveal which blocks were mined by Satoshi?
Andresen: There is a very interesting blog post by Sergio, Sergio Demian Lerner, where he found some patterns that are plausible that might be associated with Satoshi's mined Bitcoins.
Question: This is the Patoshi research? I think he calls it the Patoshi research?
Andresen: Maybe. I'm not familiar with that.
Question: They call it the Patoshi --
Andresen: I'm not familiar with that term.
Question: Is it -- is it based on the Nonce value?
Andresen: Yes, it's based on the Nonce values. And I have -- I have no direct knowledge of that, but his research seems plausible to me.
Question: Okay. Is there any reason you can think of that a miner would try to create a coinbase transaction that did not hash to within a specific range of values?
Question: Do you understand the question?
Andresen: I'm not sure I understand the question.
Question: Okay. Strike the question.
...
Sergio Demian Lerner's findings: https://bitslog.com/2013/09/03/new-mystery-about-satoshi/
Adding this quote, which is relatable;
Quote from: Occam s Razor
The simplest explanation is usually the right one
My question: What is the simplest explanation for Satoshi's(= Patoshi's) nonce values, that can't be produced with the distributed original wallet software?

But you don't just have to look at the software, I think.
In 2009, computers were still at a different level.
At that time, it was still normal to mine with a simple CPU.

Nobody knows how Satoshi's hardware setup was configured back then, but we're back to the same point as always... we can only speculate!
125  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is the meme coin still worth holding on: November 13, 2021, 01:39:33 AM
Difficult to predict...
Because, as the name suggests, they are "Meme Coins" and therefore not accompanied by any new revolutionary innovations.
Here, you don't invest in technology, but solely in speculation...

Just take this "Shiba Inu Token" as an example. If you had bought and held "Shiba Inu Token" for 1,000 $ in january of this year, you would almost be a billionaire now!

Of course, a few people have already become rich with such "Meme Coins".
But it's pure gambling and wouldn't be worth the stress to me in the long run....
126  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: November 12, 2021, 05:38:27 PM
I see some people complaining in this thread that since recently WoF is giving you the smallest prizes possible either in Satoshis, Reward Points or Lottery Tickets. I must say, I have been having this feeling too during the past couple of weeks. And that's why it was particularly nice to win 3100 RPs today.

See, guys? It's possible! The chances are small but it's possible, and that's what counts.

I paid something around 680 RPs for 1 WOF SPIN / ROLL for the following 24 hours, and then I won 3100 RPs at once! It's not that I'll get in the Top 10 richest people in the world with such achievements, but it surely charged me with positive energy for the rest of the day. Smiley

Nice, then of course the investment of your reward points has paid off. Congratulations.  Smiley
The Wheel of Fortune can sometimes bring something nice.
I have already received ~0.00004 BTC with a WOF spin a few times.

I also like the fact that you can now exchange your reward points for free WOF spin- or free FUN token-bonus.

Has anyone actually won a Rolex so far?
Well, I would take it...  Cheesy
127  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Did I make a mistake? on: November 12, 2021, 01:20:17 PM
Sounds a bit unusual to me, actually.
For example, should you fly an aircraft even though you have no flying experience?

You should read up a little on the subject before, to know how to use a blockchain to track your transactions.
The Wikipedia page about Bitcoin might be a good place to start.

I wish you the best of luck in finding your Bitcoins...  Smiley

128  Other / Off-topic / Re: Can you gamble with Bitcoins? Like, in a casino? on: November 12, 2021, 12:37:37 PM
I’ve recently discovered the appeal of online casino games during lockdown. I can play at my pace and don’t need to depend on other individuals, which is what I didn’t like about traditional gaming. My wife dabbled in cryptocurrencies a while ago and she managed to amass a significant number of Bitcoin, but is now thinking about disposing of them amid the recent fluctuations.

We’re well off financially, so I thought about combining my newfound passion for casino games with getting rid of Bitcoins. But, as I’ve only recently started dabbling with online casinos, I’m not sure if I can deposit funds with Bitcoin? I’ve heard that it’s possible and read articles about it online, but I’d love some firsthand information, just to be on the safe side.

At the same time, apparently there are Bitcoin casinos, which are venues that specialize in Bitcoin games and only Bitcoin payments. I’ve gotten wind that the odds at these establishments are better than in regular venues (https://www.swaggermagazine.com/casino/3-easy-ways-to-maximize-your-odds-at-an-online-casino/).

Can anyone here confirm this information? I know most people have a love/hate relationship with this virtual currency, but you only live once. Why not have some fun while you’re at it? Please let me know if this is true and if you know of reputable Bitcoin casinos on the web. Thanks!

So to answer your question, yes there are online casinos where you can deposit with Bitcoins or other cryptocurrencies.
There are many out there, and many of them should be viewed with caution.

If I were to recommend one, my first choice would be www.Stake.com
In my opinion, they have the widest selection of different games and a good reputation at all!

Don't gamble away all your Bitcoins and good luck...  Grin

Sorry for the delay in the first week payments, I wasn't expecting it to start the campaign like this, but everything is under control - have the funds now will transfer you in a bit -
Also, they will be sending me coins for the 2nd week too prior to the ending of week 2.

Not everything can always work out without some kind of problems...  Grin

And the campaign ends after 2 weeks?

131  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Wallet for storing Bitcoin on: November 12, 2021, 01:11:44 AM
Yes, as some have already written here, I would also recommend a hardware wallet such as "Ledger-Wallet" and a wallet for pc and smartphone like "Electrum Wallet" for storing Bitcoin. With both, you have control over your private keys. Because as the old saying goes: Not your keys, not your coins!  Grin

Electrum is easy to understand and user-friendly if you want to send or receive BTC.
I use Electrum to store, send and receive small amounts of BTC and to sign and verify messages.

The hardware wallet (has similarities to a usb-stick) is more for larger sums, stored somewhere safe in a vault or bank locker.

BitcoinCore (Node) is almost irrelevant for the normal user. Unless you want to do mining, for example...
132  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Fortunejack Scammed me WARNING on: November 11, 2021, 10:47:25 PM
Unfortunately, this is not the first accusation against this casino and I have even heard of a similar case in private circles.
The multitude of incidents is definitely suspicious and strongly suggests that something in the background does not seem to be running very cleanly.
For these reasons alone, I would definitely not classify this casino as trustworthy and would not play there.
There are other casinos where everything runs very smoothly and you never read such things about.

134  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - Watford FC Main Sponsor - UFC Official Betting Partner ⚽ 🥊 on: November 11, 2021, 02:22:58 PM
^^I get that it may not look like it is much, but the reality is that we are talking about chasing what someone else put in front of you. How much fun could you really have when there is another person that manages what you are doing?

I am not saying that it is a bad idea, but it certainly is not the way I like to play. I could play slots, I like them let's not say I love them but I like them, I love poker and sportsbook and dice those are the three that I keep gambling all the time and I won't chase what some other person challenged me to do no matter what. Only one would be just "gamble more" ones like wagering requirement, that could be decent but that's about it.

That's the best solution in gambling anyway. I don't see casino as a competition. Look at gambling more like a computer game.
A computer game usually costs money and you should not overdo it and sit permanently in front of the game console/pc etc..

It should always be fun and not a hunt for competitive prizes or huge winnings!
And if you're realistic, you should see any deposit in a casino as a minus in your pocket from the start anyway.
If you really go out of the casino with a profit, it is of course great, but the devil sits on your shoulder and talks something about that you can win much more. Then it becomes dangerous...

Of course, I have also played in the casino with higher bets. But that is rather a rarity, because even small bet-amounts in cents are enough for me to have my fun.

There are many good projects with a lot of potential.
I'm curious to see whether the much-heralded "ETH Killer" will eventually come into being.

I currently rather hold staking coins, which I can also stake without a third-party provider and with my own wallet + key.
> e.g. TRX and TEZOS

In the end, I always settle on a MAXIMUM of 10 different cryptocurrencies anyway, which I hold at the same time.
And in foreseeable intervals I diversify my portfolio again and again.
139  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: 1xbit scammed me for 1248.51 USDT -VIDEO proof, they refused to give and deposit on: November 10, 2021, 06:50:02 PM
The fact that 1xBIT.com does not have a good reputation here in the forum should be well known.
Many accusations have already been published here with evidence and the employees who are active here do nothing more than invent insane reasons.

I'm pretty sure that the one or other "troll" mixes among the accusers. To get at least once short attention in his miserable life.

Nevertheless, with the multitude of credible accusations, I can't imagine that this casino will ever gain even remote recognition here....

It's a mystery to me anyway why 1xBIT.com is still interested in using BitcoinTalk.org as an advertising opportunity or whatelse.
Seems to be lucrative for them in some way...
