121  Other / Meta / Re: Any extension for viewing total merit on post/topic ? on: May 21, 2023, 06:55:18 AM
I hope this will also work for others users.
Yes. I found it helpful. Sometimes I want to count how many merits a single post receives. It's unnecessary, but I don't know why I want to count merit from some good posts. Maybe because I wish I were more creative and created such quality content which can get that many merits  Cheesy As other users already mentioned, there are similar scripts. But, I believe extensions are better than user scripts. Even an Average Joe knows how to use an extension, but an average Joe doesn't know how to apply user scripts.

I have a feeling that this is not what you are looking for but I thought I'd still share it here. as far as I know, the BPIP extension has an option that you can enable so you can see the combined merits of the thread and posts in that thread has received.
I am using this feature and other Merit related info that BPIP provides. Still, I found OP's idea is not bad. It will count merits from a specific post. It won't be hard for suchmoon to write such code and update the extension (If he wants to).

Two userscripts that can help you.
But, it will be best if someone can get all they want from a single extension.

The end of the Indian Premier League 2023 is about to hit the final stages!
I am in Mumbai as of tonight, and Ill be taking a special Bitcointalk Guest with me to the Mumbai Indians Match on Sunday...
Oh damn, Steve! I am the craziest Cricket guy. But, My favorite IPL was already disqualified, so I lost my interest. Still, Today's match is important because this match result will declare who will qualify for the semi-finals. I never thought you could be in India. I don't live in India. Currently, I am in one of its nearest countries. Flying from here to there doesn't cost very much. But I don't have on-arrival visa facilities because of my passport. Now, applying for a visa and getting it takes more than seven working days (Sometimes more than that) because of the season.

I am telling you, if I knew you were going to India to watch a match, I would try to meet you at any cost. I don't have an Indian visa now; I wish I knew this coming. By the way, If you don't care about privacy too much, may I know how long you will stay in India? Would you dare to miss the FInal? Looking forward to seeing snaps from the stadium.

The progress is reasonably good. You cannot do it by snapping your fingers. You have to start at some point, and the progress should continue till you finish your work. Taking a nap, going shopping or even going for a vacation is a part of the progress as well Grin

The user is not banned yet. Let me give you a little advice. If you find plagiarism, after making a post in this thread, report the copied post to the moderators along with a link to your report. I often see that moderators do not always enter this topic in time, and as a result, posts with reports are ignored.
Okay. Thank you for the advice. I just reported one of his posts and used my post link as a reference. Or should I report all of them? I am not regular at reporting plagiarism cases, so I am not familiar with how often moderators check this thread and take action. I am not actively looking for a plagiarism case either. It's like walking in the street and finding random shit in my walkway. One more question, Do Moderators take action against AI content writers? This same guy wrote AI Content too  Roll Eyes

The best alternative of localbitcoins.com is paxful. It has similar features and payment methods, and now this is used widely for the P2P deals. I remember localbitcoins had that payment option to pay through cash in order to buy the coins, but personally speaking it's not at all safe. As who knows what may happen during the meet, and yes you should completely avoid to meet the strangers anywhere physically and especially when there is financial thing involved in it. Go to Paxful and try the alternate ways. I am sure that you will find something useful through which you can buy.
Aren't Paxful also Requiring KYC to start trading? I am not a Paxful user, but as far as I know, You have to do KYC there. I am sorry if I am wrong. Moreover, I heard that Paxful is going to suspend their service. I am not sure if that was for some specific region or maybe they are suspending some particular features. I haven't tried bisq yet, which o_e_l_e_o suggested. I have not found my locals in any of Real P2P Platforms yet, which is frustrating. But Bisq might be a good option for Americans.

This might be an off-topic here. I just found an article on Coindesk that its 4th consecutive month Decentralized Exchange Uniswap Trading Volume Outpaces Coinbase. Isn't it great? Let's see how long they can continue this performance. Of course it depend on users.
127  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Wearing Double signature (Shan85) on: May 20, 2023, 09:41:34 AM
LoyceV read this topic.

Would there be any use for a service that regularly checks signatures at random times? It shouldn't be too difficult to monitor a thousand users.
Now I am wondering if LoyceBot will be able to detect any changes made on the signature space. If it can, then wouldn't it be an excellent service for a campaign manager? A Monthly cheap subscription will help the Campaign manager and the company ensure this doesn't happen repeatedly.

However, Participants change every week or every few weeks. Move from one campaign to another Campaign. Some spreadsheets are hidden (Bettercallitraul, for example). I am curious How would you do that? If you have to do something manually, you won't be able to provide this service at a cheap price. But, if you can make it automatic, offering an affordable subscription could be possible.

About refunding to Campaign managers, Guys, let's not pre-assume something. Let him decide what he wants to do. If you say such things from the beginning, It will motivate him not to refund even if he plans to refund them. As he said, He would refund last week's payment to both Campaign managers.

130  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why so many mixers all of a sudden? on: May 20, 2023, 08:47:23 AM
Nobody knows the exact correct answers. It's just an assumption that the CM seizure allowed other businesses to expand. CM was a popular service, and its users had a pick an alternative service. Of course, they will choose the best mixers around. Maybe that's why we are seeing more mixers coming to the forum. I see this as positive competition. Every mixer will try to improve their service as best as possible to get Ex-CM users' attention. I would call it healthy competition.

Moreover, you don't know if CM has already started its business under a new Brand name. I wear the WhirlWind signature and avatar, and I know their service facilities. I haven't seen a mixer service without fees other than WhirlWind. Right now, the WhirlWind mixer service is entirely free. Even on-chain transactions don't charge transaction fees.

However, I don't think this discussion should be on the Bitcoin Discussion board. Does it fit here?

Strike, led by Jack Mallers, currently operates in the U.S. and El Salvador. Now it's pushing into new markets in Africa, Latin America, Eastern Europe, Asia and the Caribbean – from Antigua and Barbuda to Vanuatu and Zambia.

MIAMI BEACH, Florida – The Bitcoin-focused payments firm Strike is expanding its app to more than 65 countries from the current base of the U.S. and El Salvador.

Strike CEO Jack Mallers made the announcement on Friday at the Bitcoin 2023 conference in Miami Beach, Florida.

The Strike app uses Bitcoin and Lightning – a secondary network for cheaper and faster bitcoin transactions – to offer global payment and cross-border money transfer services. The app now sports a brand new user interface and also gives users the ability to hold funds in bitcoin (BTC) and tether (USDT).

Strike says the expansion will increase its total addressable market to almost 3 billion people.
“Our end goal is to address the 7 to 8 billion people in every single country,” said Manuela Rios, Strike’s vice president of product, in an interview with CoinDesk.

Rios says the app’s new user interface will feature a seamless onboarding experience, something she said the company has been working on for years.

“If you are in the United States the apps are gorgeous; there's a really high bar for design,” Rios explained. “Unfortunately that's not the case when you download apps abroad.”

Free-trade zones in the UAE are areas where entrepreneurs have 100% ownership of their businesses and have different regulatory frameworks and tax schemes.

Ras Al Khaimah, one of the United Arab Emirate’s (UAE) seven Emirates, is set to launch a free zone for digital and virtual asset companies as the country’s approach to the industry continues to attract global crypto players.

The RAK Digital Assets Oasis (RAK DAO) will be a “purpose-built, innovation-enabling free zone for non-regulated activities in the virtual assets sector.” Applications will open in the second quarter of 2023, the statement said.

The free zone will be dedicated to digital and virtual assets service providers in emerging technologies, such as the metaverse, blockchain, utility tokens, virtual asset wallets, nonfungible tokens (NFTs), decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs), decentralized applications (DApps) and other Web3-related businesses.

“We are building the free zone of the future for companies of the future,” said Sheikh Mohammed bin Humaid bin Abdullah Al Qasimi, chairman of the RAK International Corporate Centre, the operator of the new free zone. “As the world’s first free zone solely dedicated to digital and virtual asset companies, we look forward to supporting the ambitions of entrepreneurs from around the world.”

BTC users and linking them to their BTC addresses, violating the privacy of these users, according to a blog post from pseudonymous Bitcoin app developer 0xB10C. The entity has been active since March 2018, and its IP addresses have shown up on several public posts from Bitcoin node operators over the past several years.

0xB10C is the developer of several Bitcoin analytics websites, including Mempool.observer and Transactionfee.info. They have also been awarded a Bitcoin developer grant from Brink.dev in the past.

0xB10C calls the entity “LinkingLion” because the IP addresses associated with it pass through LionLink network’s colocation data center. However, ARIN and RIPE registry information reveal that this company is probably not the originator of the messages, according to 0xB10C.

The entity uses a range of 812 different IP addresses to open connections with Bitcoin full nodes that are visible on the network (also called “listening nodes”). Once it opens a connection, the entity asks the node which version of the Bitcoin software it is using. However, when the node responds with a version number and message stating that it has understood the request, the entity closes its connection about 85% of the time without responding.

According to the post, this behavior may indicate that the entity is trying to determine if a particular node can be reached at a particular IP address.

Anyone know about this?

This is what has happened in this instance and why i have demanded the money be returned so its accounted for.
You knew that Stake doesn't allow players from Australia. So, did you sign up on their platform? Let's say Eddie used a VPN and was encouraged to use VPN so you tried their platform from a restricted area. Would you have come here if you had won instead of lost? I am sure you wouldn't be here, and you would silently take the money and run away. What you are trying to do doesn't make sense to anybody except for you and your lawyer (You know why he agrees with you, He wants money).

Quote
I will say this once and ill say it again, you have to look at this from a legal standpoint and stake cannot profit from unlicensed juristictions.
What Legal are you talking about? Let's say It's illegal for the stake to profit from a restricted region. Then it should also be illegal to lose their profit in restricted regions. However, isn't it illegal in Australia to play in casinos that are not registered in Australia? Why you gambled on their casino when you know that it's illegal for stake to profit from restricted region?

133  Economy / Gambling / Re: Betcrypto.cr |No KYC Casino & Sportsbook| 100% welcome bonus + 100% reload bonus on: May 19, 2023, 01:52:17 PM
There is always a positive and negative side to the features of gambling sites. I have seen peeps fighting over why casinos need my KYC, "I want my money without KYC verification", and much more. It is intriguing that whenever there is a non-KYC-based casino the opposite cases will be argued, just like the account authentication that we are discussing here.
Account authentication doesn't consider part of KYC. Or maybe it does? I don't know. But, NON-KYC casinos have limited way to catch multiple accounts. They can check IP and device models only. In the words of technology, it's not hard to use a different IP every time you visit a website. So, asking for Email Verification or Mobile number verification could help them. It's not like you are giving them your data like a passport copy or utility copy.

Quote
I think non-KYC casinos can only rely on the IP addresses or maybe do mobile verification. Systems are in a place where virtual mobile numbers can be identified. So if any user is using such services could easily get flagged anyways. This might be a poor setting but it would be something more than nothing.
Precisly that's what I was talking about. To be honest, I did not know that it's possible to detect the virtual mobile number. That's interesting information. I never tried such services so I am unaware of those things.

Quote
Apart from that some casinos are using level-based KYC. This starts with basic KYC, a single document, then goes to the above level with multiple verifications. This is anyway based on how much money is getting gambled. Not sure it would work or not.
Nobody want to run their business in lose. You don't want some cheaters take your money and run away. So, I don't blame casinos asking for a KYC when it comes to bonus things. If you are taking bonus and he platform suspect you for wrong doing, I won't blame them. Because they are here to do business and not charity. But, when there is no bonus thing that can be abused and still casinos ask for a KYC, I don't support it.

I think it was down for about 3 hours and few minutes if am not mistaking, but the one that occur in April this year was what i don't think i really noticed or got much attention like this, since it does not last long, it may happens to be when one was not online, bit all for good it does not stayed long.
Yes. This time it was three hours and eight minutes (According to LoyceV) and many of us notice that because of the duration. I did not knew when last time it happened. I didn't knew it happened in April as well. Probably because I wasn't active when it went down. Since it was ~25 minutes (According to TryNinja), a few percentage of people notice that. But Yeah, I assume this is the biggest down in terms of duration.

Quote
There's more possibility that he will talk about it sooner, i can see about two threads already created on this on Meta and I believe some may still come up with their own later while they are yet to know that the forum is back already, i would have thought about April fools but that is gone already. Grin
The other thread is new and this one was created back in April. At first, I did not notice that too because it has only a few replies. So, I thought it was created today. I quoted TryNinja and said it was down for three hours  Grin. He posted that a month ago and I quoted him without noticing the date

You're quoting a post I made 1 month ago.
This time the forum was down for 3h 30min: https://status.ninjastic.space
Look how stupid I am. I did not notice the date  Grin. Ninjastic data and LoyceV's data giving different down duration? He said it was down for 3 hours and eight minutes. But, Yours data says forum was down for 3h 30minutes.
135  Other / Meta / Re: GATEAWAY TIMEOUT (ERROR) on: May 19, 2023, 09:26:22 AM
Forum was down for ~25 min.
It was down for at least two and a half hours. Maybe you did not notice the starting time. I thought theymos working on the Imgur image issues since he created the poll about fixing it. I did not visit any old thread yet that contains old Imgur Images. I will check right after posting this.

Oh, I just checked some old images, and it seems nothing has changed. So no, it wasn't theymos. I have faced this issue before, but that did not last for more than a few minutes. Moreover, others said they could access the forum and did not face any problems. But, this time, it was global and lasted more than a few hours. theymos might want to share what happened.

BTW, Our Alleged AI knows for how long the forum was down. See;

it was down for everyone for 3 hours and 8 minutes.

Interesting. If you keep it like this. It will be easy for someone to create multiple accounts using dummy emails. Since you guys are not asking for a KYC, You won't have a way to verify if someone creates multiple accounts. I will suggest starting verifying emails at least to avoid abuse.

Kindly avoid posting multiple posts in a row, It's not allowed. Edit your old post if you want to add something. See the quoted rules below.
32. Posting multiple posts in a row (excluding bumps and reserved posts by the thread starter) is not allowed.

I just registered on Betcrypto.cr a few minutes ago. I did not use any promo code during the sign-up process. I remember I saw the live support chat button before I signed up. But, after logging into my account, I can no longer see the live chat button. I had some questions, and I could not ask them via Live chat support. I want to know how much the minimum deposit is and how many times the wagering requirement for the first deposit bonus is. Nice to see you guys support a lot of coins.

Moreover, I did not receive an account verification code in my email. I tried another method to check if I received an email from Betcrypto. I clicked on my account info option and then tried to change my password, which should send me an email. FYI, I did not receive an email from Betcrypto yet. I am using the Gmail service.

Looking forward to hearing from you. Meanwhile, I will update the post if I receive an email from Betcrypto.

138  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: BETCRYPTO.CR SCAM! on: May 18, 2023, 04:55:31 AM
Here is the proof
You guys are lucky with this scammer. That was fortunate that you guys checked the wallet connection. Sometimes those scammers use more tricky ways. Just imagine he used a mixer and sent his coins to Betcrypto. Even if you have backlog data where you can detect multiple accounts, you wouldn't be able to publicly show such data to prove that you guys are not lying. Scammers often create scam accusations against casinos when they are guilty of cheating and abusing bonuses. They want the community in their favor. Unfortunately, many of us believe them, and they support their flag.

Casinos don't have a chance to prove their claims because they cannot reveal everything on the forum due to security reasons. If you reveal how you detect them, the same scammer will get back to you, bypassing the method you use to catch them. We often see players come up with made-up stories like their father, mother, sister, or brother playing on those casinos and not having multiple accounts. It's their parents and their friends. Good to see you guys handled this matter in a good way.

Once again, Do not write consecutive replies. It's not allowed. Edit your old post if you want to add something. See the quoted rules below.
32. Posting multiple posts in a row (excluding bumps and reserved posts by the thread starter) is not allowed.

Their terms and conditions are not relevant because they are not licensed in Australia to accept bets. End of story. You're focusing far too much on the terms and conditions. They never even verified my account which is another thing that is going to go against them.
Why do you think that Their terms and conditions are not relevant here? Their TOS clearly said they do not accept players from Australia. So, if they block your account and confiscate the balance due to this reason, you don't have anything to do. If you do, the result won't be on your side. It's just my assumption. I didn't get what did you mean by the End of the story.

They did not verify your account because your real IP was exposed to them and they did not feel that they need to ask you for KYC. Only you and Stake know what happened. I cannot tell you why they did not ask for a KYC and why they blocked your account. Based on your statement, it doesn't look good enough for you.

Also everyone, please watch the first minute of this video of Eddie streaming:    https://youtu.be/0l6liFJNW8U

Someone asks: ''Are you Aussie'?

Eddie Replies: ''I'm Australian, From Melbourne"

Now this is why he is playing stake, which cannot be accessed from Australia, Period. So, the argument that he isn't mis guiding customers to illegally bet on stake is false, he clearly is and that is clear proof of it.
Not to mention how irresponsible it is of him to do. This is where the inexperience of stake is on show in regards to compliance. This a long with proof of Eddie and stake suggesting VPN usage is legal and me providing my Australian IP to live chat and them not raising any concern proves all this. This is what i will prove in court. Not only did stake and one of the owners of stake blatantly say stake can be accessed in unlicensed jurisdictions, but he is also playing from the same country i am from on stream.

Now back to the point, I have replied to you in another thread. In case you did not see that, I will tell you again.
It won't be good to compare yourself with the owner. He is indeed Australian from Melbourne. That doesn't mean he is currently living in Australia. I don't know if he lives there or not. Let's say he lives in Australia. Still, you cannot compare yourself with the owner. He is not playing to make money on his platform. He is playing for promotional purposes only. He is playing with fake money. he can create his balance out of thin air, and you cannot. You are playing with real money.

Before you signed up on their platform, You have accepted their TOS, where they mentioned you cannot join the platform if you are from a restricted region. So, No matter whoever playing from where. You shouldn't be encouraged to do the same. You shouldn't play there if you are from a restricted region.

I hope my explanation makes much sense. I am not talking about favor of Stake. I am not their signature participant and I am not regular player of stake. This is what I felt after reading the information you provided. So, I feel like you will lose a few more thousand bucks by doing a fight against them and unlikely to win because you have accepted the TOS before you sign up.
