122  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Andreessen and Rajaram joins Coinbase as Board of Directors on: September 05, 2020, 12:00:19 AM
He's one of the original founders and runs it too which means he has a hand in all of their gaffes, or at least the buck stopped at his hand.

Then either I'm failing at using search engines, or there are too many bald white guys in crypto and you're possibly confusing him with Jeremy Allaire, heh.

I don't think he ever invested in Circle. Always at Coinbase. He has several other investments through his company A16z. Those who do not know him, should read about his history and the importance he has on .com companies.

He founded Netscape and was an investor and board member of several large companies, such as ebay, paypal, skype, facebook, and a big fan of Cryptos. In 2014 he invested more than 50 million. He wrote one of the most legendary and visionary texts on the change of the internet. "Why Software Is Eating the World"

His texts and the money he invests show that he is not just playing chips in a casino.

123  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is now the 6th largest world currency on: September 04, 2020, 03:09:17 AM
I think it is necessary to include gold and silver in this ranking. Any ranking that compares Bitcoin to money needs to include them. This strengthens the idea that Bitcoin is also an excellent store of value. I did some research and it looks like he was 8 last year.

In addition it is the easiest asset to know how many were issued, anyone can easily consult this information. And it is the only one that we are sure is impossible to clone.
124  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Atari's strategy- Atari Token, Exchange, Payment Network, & Crypto Credit Card on: September 04, 2020, 01:08:56 AM
I thought it could be a scam, but apparently it is legit. It is the brand owner creating a token.

https://cointelegraph.com/news/gaming-giant-atari-to-use-its-atari-token-for-betting-gaming-and-shopping

They had announced years ago that they would have a new strategy focused on games using real money and hotels. I think their administration is very lost. And this token launch seems more like a step towards another bankruptcy

I hope they sell the brand to someone who treats it better.
125  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Anubis: A fork malware which targets crypto currency wallets on: September 03, 2020, 01:14:50 AM
Funny that they announce they saw it first being sold in the DarkNet markets. That is, they probably bought it. Would that be a crime? I don't know what the legislation is for this type of event, but I found it curious.

Now, what I didn't understand is about the wallets. It is a virus that steals data. Does he steal the data to access a wallet? Could they send the .file too? I think it is more likely it will steal pass and user from exchanges.

126  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Police reportedly seize South Korea's largest crypto exchange Bithumb on: September 02, 2020, 09:46:17 PM
In August the same police had taken action against coinbit. The reason was different from this. But it is curious how actions of this type are becoming more frequent. The question is: Would they have the same attitude against banks?

HSBC is still standing after all the proven complaints about international money laundering.

An action of this type and with this truculence affects several people worldwide. And those who receive this informatioin advance can make millions. If this pattern by the government continues, it will be bad for the market. This country is an important part of an entire ecosystem having several exchanges between the main and largest in the world.

127  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: AlphaBay darknet moderator goes in prison on: September 02, 2020, 06:45:34 PM
The alleged owner of this site was found dead a while ago in a Thai jail. The story of how they arrested him involves an email account on hotmail.

Pimp_Alex_91@hotmail.com It was an email address used right at the beginning of the site.

Most prisons are like that. They either find a small slip or someone decides to talk about others involved to get rid of the charges.

Even so, for some time they manage to live a luxurious life. And the thesis that keeps these sites anonymous remains alive. The FBI is unable to break the site, they manage to break the people involved with the site. But they do not catch all and soon more similar sites appear.

Anytime someone comes up with a new market name on the Dread forum or similar forums. The mainstream media shows these prisons as a great victory for the government, but what they do is actually demonstrate that these markets are increasingly strong, organized and accessible for almost everyone.
128  Local / Criptomoedas Alternativas / Re: Dá pra fazer dinheiro com UniSwap ? on: September 02, 2020, 04:05:44 PM

129  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why isn't there an official bitcoin wallet? on: September 01, 2020, 10:20:43 PM
How not?

https://bitcoin.org/en/wallets/desktop/windows/bitcoincore/?step=5&platform=windows

What does not exist is an official wallet. And if you don't understand why it doesn't exist, you still don't understand what Bitcoin is. Decentralization is necessary for security

131  Local / Brasil / Re: MP e CVM monitoram influenciadores na internet on: September 01, 2020, 09:13:21 PM

Caso clássico é o do Cafecomferri do Tradersclub.

132  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: There are 3 quadrillion times more atoms of gold than "satoshis" on: September 01, 2020, 08:02:33 PM
you can't feasibly transact physically in atoms of gold because gold can't be physically divided to that level.

Not true. There are already tools to manipulate physical matter at nanoscale level.
See this wiki article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IBM_(atoms)

I was buying physical gold on auction sites. I managed to buy some cutlery and some coins. Do you know what I found out? It is immensely difficult to know if I did a good deal.

For an ordinary person like me, it is very difficult to prove the quality and veracity of gold. It is obvious that there are several methods, but they all involve some work. So having physical gold to transact means a difficulty when making small transactions.

This is historic. There are several companies that attest to the veracity of gold. But you still need to trust them. It's all very complicated.

So whether it is possible or not makes little difference. What drives gold markets today are virtual transactions. Certificates issued by banks. And in that the Bitcoin decentralization and its verification process is unbeatable.

You can prove that you have the ability to move something unique and that no one else has power over it.

134  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A normal Venezuelan getting helped using Bitcoins, even more in 2020 on: September 01, 2020, 05:54:50 AM
This is a commercial, not news. It is not a journalistic piece. It is not intended to inform, just to have advertising for bitcoin.com's p2p store.
Look in respected sources and little is said about Bitcoin in Venezuela. Unfortunately little has changed, even with the local currency destroyed. Some groups continue to mine and there is some trade with cryptocurrency. But it is far from the change that many expected.
135  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: BitMEX verificará todos os traders e origem do dinheiro on: August 31, 2020, 06:49:16 PM
