122  Economy / Economics / Re: WTF? Food prices expected to raise up to 50% in German supermarket. on: April 04, 2022, 07:11:17 PM
This war will have a significant impact all over the world. Not only Germany but also middle Western countries also facing food shortages and the price of food spiking up. Some Asian countries like Sri Lanka, and Pakistan also facing high prices for food even these countries can produce food for their population. People may fight the war on one side of the world but its consequences shake the whole world.
123  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Can't MetaMask be trusted from now on? on: April 04, 2022, 04:44:54 AM
Unfortunately metamask wallet is no more decentralized, I will now call this a practice of a closed source wallet, users from Iran and Venezuela are reporting problems with accessing their digital wallets with hundreds of users saying none of their transactions sent through MetaMask was successful, unfortunately metamask is now a closed source wallet fully centralised..

https://cryptoslate.com/metamask-blocks-ethereum-transactions-in-several-jurisdictions-citing-compliance-issues/

I can't say anything more because i stopped using Metamask years ago, but having those issues now? i think i will definitely prevent from using this once again as i planned of doing recently but the problem now makes me decide the opposite ways

Some of my NFT collection are in metamask and so far I didn't experience on what OP trying to point out and what we can say here is maybe he pick the wrong metamask since cloning it is so rampant and might he got caught by one of them.

But eventhough we didn't experience this kind of issue still we need to be careful on the balances or collection we store there and always vigilant upon clicking the right link and avoid get phished.

At first, I am also thinking about that but then realized they can actually put limitations on their service in any specific region. Actually, metamask use infura to access the blockchain, and infura is unavailable in a certain area due to jurisdictions. I think metamask has nothing to do with it except changing infura if possible. We should wait for an official statement from metamask.
124  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: What's wrong with Coinsbit exchange on: April 03, 2022, 05:58:14 PM
After reading all these comments about this exchange I think regular users should avoid this exchange if possible. I know some other exchanges like this: Latoken, P2PB2B, whitebit, Azbit, etc. All of these exchanges are full of scam projects and scam IEO. Withdraw fees of any toke from all these exchanges are insane compared to binance, kucoin, or other reputable exchanges. I am not trusting this type of exchange with my KYC data.
125  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Breakout on: March 28, 2022, 05:26:52 PM
The month of April is always been bullish according to past years. Also, we have seen a long-lasting bearish market for more than 150 days so a relief bounce was inevitable. But to be a confirmed breakout BTC needs to stay above 45k for some time. This is one of the psychological zones that many traders are waiting for to be broken so that the market turns bullish.
126  Economy / Economics / Re: Ukraine VS Russia. Ideological or Economical conflict? on: March 27, 2022, 03:49:01 PM
....
2. why did Russia annex Crimea?

a) There is a trillion dollars worth of gas reserve found in the basin of Crimea which Russia wants. This was the main and first reason behind the Russian occupation in Crimea.

b) Crimean seaport Sevastopol didn't freeze in winter which makes it unique from most other seaports in Europe. This means Russia can operate business even in winter through this seaport. Not only that it can be used as a naval fleet for the Russian navy the whole year. And its location gives Russia the power to conduct any naval operation to the whole of Europe.

... ]
I'm having difficulty understanding the first one since they were still paying Ukraine before the previous President was overthrown via coup d'etat with the help of the West in 2014. Russia was more likely threatened so they had to do a pre-emptive strike before the newly installed leader would change the deal or completely ignore it. I believe that's the main reason for the Crimea annexation.

You're correct. The economic incentive is not there for Ukraine. Assuming the war does not last years and that Russia could take over Ukraine tomorrow, their economy is still in the gutter and Rubles is becoming more worthless as the sanctions continue. Ukraine doesn't have enough natural resources in order to justify invasion. If it did, the U.S. would have troops on the ground at this moment.
Apart from the sanctions imposed by several countries on Russia, which of course have an effect on many things including the economy, I think Russia has taken all of that into account.
what is clear is that both the Ukrainian and Russian economies are currently in complete disarray,
and in the midst of a war like this it is certainly not an easy thing to recover

Western sanction on russia is not new for them. Russia faces such sanction in 2006 and 2014. So it will be a childish thought that Putin didn't expect such action from the west and didn't took any necessary steps. A data shows putin convers more than 600 Billion worth of dollar to gold which i assume could be 3 to 4 times greater than this figure. They Keep only 16% of their reserve currency to USD which western country froze. Now putin demanding rubles as a payments from any country who wants to buy oil and gas from russia. A cleaver move from putin.
127  Economy / Economics / Re: Malaysia could be an encouragement to legalize crypto in asian country? on: March 27, 2022, 03:42:23 PM
You combined several incorrect things, El Salvador considered Bitcoin a legal currency like USD, but what Ukraine, Malaysia did is just adopt Bitcoin as a legal currency, which means:

  • They can generate additional income by imposing taxes on those crypto.
  • They can generate income by providing licenses to the platforms.
  • They can generate additional income by providing the service of converting cryptocurrencies to local currency.

Imposing a ban on these currencies means that the government will spend more money to track traders, and this will not bring them any additional income.
Regulation is for economic reasons, which is different from considering it a legal currency

Please read OP carefully. I mentioned el Salvador made bitcoin legal tender and Ukraine passed a law for accepting bitcoin which clearly refers to legalizing bitcoin. Two are different things.

Imposing a tax on bitcoin also requires more money to be spent on this sector. Govt needs to track trader's records, transactions, and profits and losses. This consumes money and time too and is a decentralized cryptocurrency it makes things even harder. Recently India impose a 30% tax on every crypto asset and an investigation shows more than 700 Indian traders who made more than 40 lack INR which is equivalent to $52000+ USD worth of money didn't report about their earnings. That means they just simply want to avoid tax and just think how many more haven't been caught yet. Now implementing law and order to these people won't be easy.
128  Economy / Economics / Re: Ukraine has legalized the cryptosector on: March 25, 2022, 05:16:45 PM

I think you might be overestimating how much money they "could have made" with Bitcoin. In fact you are severly underestimating the amount of money countries deal with. A few billion is just a drop of water on the hot pan. In the end, it won't have as great of an effect as you think. Yes, they could have bought weapons with that money, but not enough to make a significant difference.

But you are right in saying they should have adopted Bitcoin a long time ago. It would have definitely benefited their economy.

But it gives donators an easy way to help the Ukrainian army forces. Now Ukrainian officials will get all the donations directly and in times of war, every sip of help is important. For being one of the poorest countries in Europe few billion dollars is not a very bad amount for a country like Ukraine. Also, several crypto companies are running a donation campaign for helping Ukraine so it seems to legalizing crypto in Ukraine became helpful after all.
129  Economy / Economics / Re: Ukraine VS Russia. Ideological or Economical conflict? on: March 25, 2022, 05:11:19 PM

Many of us think that Russia's attack on Ukraine is due to its joining NATO which I think isn't valid because Russia has a border with two other NATO members. The main reason is economic not ideological or security concerns. Both sides have some responsibility behind the conflict but that hasn't given Russia the right to annex Crimea or attack Ukraine. Did I miss any points here?

It is economic, , it is not just the water but there are different things too.  Ukraine has so many natural resources and could fill up the gap within Russias supplies, for instance Uranium which is needed in making Nuclear weapons etc.

It's true also. Whether Putin wants to take back what the Soviets had conquered before or not, he is gaining in this fight. During the Minsk agreement in 2014, everything was settled already because after all, Russia had leased that part of Crimea for years. Why end the contract and let someone else lease when they have not defaulted?

It requires a deep understanding, not just a shallow memory of Putin bad or Hitler is bad. If they have to live as neighbors, both countries should have respect for each other and not find faults.

While there are countries surrounding Russia that are part of NATO, they are not hostile to them, there is no border dispute and no ballistic weapons pointing to Russia yet. But they should be worried too especially because there are US military bases with a small number of US troops, Putin already warn them like Latvia.

Its been a quite long time since Putin warned Russia's neighboring state about joining NATO. But how does he explains the annexation of Crimea? The Russian navy was using Crimean seaports by leasing them but that doesn't make them the rightful owner of that part. As an independent country, Ukraine has the right not to make a new contract about leasing its ports to another country.

Malaysia’s Communication Ministry has proposed to the government that crypto currency such as bitcoin be adopted as legal transfer, its deputy minister Zahidi Zainul Abidin told Parliament on Monday.

First el Salvador make bitcoin a legal tender later Ukraine passed a law for accepting bitcoin now Malaysia. Legalizing bitcoin is more significant than the first two countries because of its economical power. Govt said that they are trying to increase youth participation in the crypto industry. Till now it's just a proposal to the govt. Do you really think govt will legalize bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies? we have seen in an Asian country like India govt implies unreasonable tax to discourage people to invest in crypto. Malaysian crypto policy will encourage other Asian countries to legalize crypto or lift unreasonable tax to encourage youth to participate?
We know that each country or government on a particular country does have their own views and perceptions towards crypto which means that neither they would be on neutral, negative
or positive. It would really be just good to look at if there's a country that does have positive views and possibilities about making it legal or totally followed on what El Salvador had done.
We wont know until it would be finalized, it isnt surprising that there would be some rumors but as long it isnt really that finalized then it is just stay as a rumor.

You are right about it because Ukraine is another county that has recently legalized bitcoin and other crypto assets in their country by expecting crypto investors and companies to bring capital to their country. But Malaysian govt is expecting to expand opportunities for their youth by legalizing crypto in their country. Both countries have different approaches and view here. One sees it as a way to boost their economy and another sees it as an opportunity to strengthen their future generation.

Do you know that technically, Crimea belongs to Russia? It was a part of Russia for a long period of time, until Nikita Khrushchev (First Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union) signed an agreement to transfer Crimea to Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic, to support USSR region and to decrease population of Tatars there. Some people believe, that Khrushchev simply presented part of Russian land to Ukrainians. That is why Russians celebrated that much when "they got their land back". People disagreed why someone "distribute their land to others just for nothings". That what I think triggered all that disagreements between Russia and Ukraine long before war, annexation and etc.

There are many countries that were once a part of Russia. So now Putin will reclaim all those countries? Crimea was part of Ukraine On 19 February 1954 even before Ukraine got independent. Basically, Crimea also got independent from the former soviet union as a part of Ukraine. Crimea consists mostly of pro-Russian people which is another matter.

134  Economy / Economics / Re: Ukraine VS Russia. Ideological or Economical conflict? on: March 20, 2022, 06:21:10 PM
I would agree that the NATO membership was just an excuse from Putin to attack Ukraine.

And it could be ideological, he believed that it is still with Russia, and since the government is anti-Putin, it has to be reminded that it was once was a part of Russia. And we may say that Putin has a nationalistic idea that he takes very seriously and no one can stop him from fighting for it even if it means attacking Ukraine and getting condemnation from the West.

I do not think Putin will gamble on Russia's economy only for an ideological reason. One state attack another state generally for two reasons. Either out of fear or greed. Most of the time greed played the main role which is also valid for Putin. Putin doesn't want to lose the EU market for their fossil fuel and Ukraine was creating problems by diverting gas from Russia's gas pipeline and overcharging for transit as mentioned in OP. I think Putin was desperate and played that gamble.

Hello i had bought link for 1400euros for price about 31euros per link and now its about 10 euros per link
i wonder should i buy more link or should i go to a safer choise like bitcoin ? or get some ada with 0.67euro per ada ? ada price ATH ada was like 2.5 euro per ada ...

an links ATH was like 42euro per link...
what would you do if you were in my place?

every though is welcome!!! i just wonder what is the wiser choise of these 3 coins ada link and btc

In a bearish market like this DCA is the best option and its a proven tactic to be rewarded in the long run. Most of the coin's price is below 70% from its ATH which is pretty much an accumulation zone. Price from this level could still be crashed but there is a very good chance that it will recover very quickly. Whales are mostly buying in this zone till the next bull run. Without choosing 1 project from these 3 do DCA in all of these 3 projects. This distributes your risk factor too.
136  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Things are getting ugly now. on: March 20, 2022, 08:37:09 AM
With mercenaries getting involved in this war things can only get messier than it is currently. Like the word implies mercenary, what actually comes into your mind? It's only a gain situation for them in all they do.

I only pity for Ukraine citizens cause I don't see Russia (Putin) giving up on this war anytime soon.
Many mercenarys run away, because it is a trap, there purpose was to get foreign body count up to get other countries drawn in.

Yes, I saw some videos about this. In a recent hypersonic missile attack from Russia, many mercenaries were killed who were supposed to fight by the side of Ukraine. For sure this type of strike shake the nerve of mercenary fighter and their morale is low. However, RF also consists of some mercenary groups like the Wagner group, Chechen militia, DPR and LPR forces, and VDV. There are another 16000 Syrian troops going to join. Main RF is still on the border which makes western leaders worried. They don't know what's on Putin's mind.
137  Economy / Economics / Re: Sanction is the right option? on: March 20, 2022, 04:47:21 AM
Sanctions are definitely the best way to go about tackling the issue on Ukraine with Russia. All these are in a bid to reck Russians economy so as to ensure Putin lacks the needed funds to finance the way but to a large extent, there is an introduction of bias in the way this sanctions are been given.

You can imagine almost every sector being sanctioned and still USA buys gas from Russia! What's that suppose to imply? Or are we to say they don't know what they are doing?

Apparently, USA understands that it's citizens would have to suffer on that part and as such, they turn a blind eye while other nations rush to sanction Russia. War is not always an easy thing and I pray peace to both nations.

Haha, you are right. USA and EU countries say we will go hard on Russia but they are still buying gas from them which is one of the main funding for Russia. Without fully cutting off Russia's funding from exporting commodities this type of sanction won't work. EU has no alternative either that they can import gas from. Syria won't give transit to Qatar to export gas through the pipeline. That means Russia is the only option left no matter what they do.

NATO unnecessarily escalated the situation and then fled the scene, claiming that they'll take no part in the war, after creating absolute chaos. War sucks for both sides, both countries' resources will be depleted and their citizens devastated, leading to a financial depression throughout the whole European continent. People are always the true victims of war.

They are saying they will take no part in the war but at the same time, they are supplying Ukraine with weapons. Not only both countries but also the whole EU's resources will be depleted because of the war. Other NATO members are also proving help to Ukraine and even many countries are thinking about sending peacekeeping missions to Ukraine with will lead to a direct conflict between NATO and Russia.

If NATO really sent a peacekeeping force or declare Ukraine air space as a no-fly zone then Europe will be responsible for another world war.

Putin started this war. Check your root cause analysis, lol.

So only Putin is the only one responsible here? I do not support Putin's actions either that doesn't mean I will only accuse him blindly of starting the war. Why he started the war? A country invades another country either for greed or out of fear. Which emotions does Putin face?

Russia declared Ukraine a no fly zone a long time ago
https://www.flightradar24.com/31.1,70.95/3 Why is there so much air trafic to west africa?

Russia did but NATO didn't. Ukraine's president asks NATO to declare Ukraine a no-fly zone too and if NATO does that there will be a direct conflict between Russian and NATO air forces. Russia declared Ukraine no-fly zone means the Russian air force can only fly in Ukraine air space and will have the right to shoot down or force-land any aircraft they want. If NATO does the same then just think what will happens there.
139  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Strategic defeat for Russia? on: March 19, 2022, 09:34:23 PM
Putin doesn't need to win the hearts and minds of the Ukrainian people. He will install a government that is pro-Russia. So the Ukrainian people will pledge loyalty to a puppet government, not him.

Take it as you will, as there is so much propaganda being thrown by actors culpable of stirring the pot, but here is Putin being cheered by a stadium of people in a recent public appearance: https://twitter.com/disclosetv/status/1504821631675473922

Quite the contrast from the videos and clips of small groups of protestors that are being arrested by Russian police. The international community is on the same page against Russia, but as long as Putin can sustain confidence among his own people, I see no reason why Putin would withdraw from Ukraine.

So that is the plan? LOL.

Hmm, you have no idea.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MzRls0WSW4c

Yes, it is his plan. That is only if he is able to murder Zelenskyy. See the number of hit squads/mercenary groups that have attempted to assassinate him: https://nypost.com/2022/03/09/zelensky-has-survived-more-than-a-dozen-assassination-attempts-aide-says/

They can't be cheap, must serve a purpose eh?

Do you think Ukraine will become part of Russia? How else would you expect they be governed? If Zelenskyy survives, then no problem for Putin. He will murder enough citizens until a concession is forced from Ukraine. Either way, Putin will be in control of the Ukrainian government,

If he kills all Ukrainians who will remain in Ukraine, then sure, I agree, he will accomplish his ethnic cleansing plan.

I just don't know where he is going to get all the cannon fodder.  I think when the number of killed Russian soldiers approach 200K
it will be the end of Putin's political career.  Maybe even sooner. I would not be surprised if he does a false flag bombing on his own people
to justify martial law and the military draft.

I don't think he knows how to accomplish what he wants to accomplish.  At least Hitler knew how to design concentration camps, but this
guy cannot find people who can coordinate an attack, perform military maneuvers, etc. his army has been taught WWII tactics.

At this point, it does not matter, if Zelensky lives or is assassinated.  I think the opposition will be even stronger if he is assassinated, and
the western response will be harsher. His 'plan' will turn into a complete disaster, if it is not there already.

Give Ukrainians a martyr, and watch your back. No pro-Russian person will ever be safe in Ukraine after that.

It's for sure that Putin has no intention of largely holding Ukraine. Putin just wants to make sure that Ukraine stays away from NATO and Russia can supply gas to Europe without any transit fees. If he really wants to do something like he has done with Crimea then we could see Kyiv been pounded by thousands of missiles already. RF trying to keep civilian casualties as low as possible but still unwanted incidents happen in the war zone.

However, we should not underestimate Putin by saying he failed to coordinate his invasion. We should not forget that he is a former KGB agent which makes him a cold-blooded killer. He could have something else and bigger in mind that we can not imagine right now. Who knows he could attack Poland and Moldova too.
