Thanks for the update.

Is there something we can do about invalids?  I know some time ago BTCGuild had a lot of invalids and they were able to lower them significantly somehow.  I know before these last few we were better than average, but I don't know if luck and averages really have to apply to invalids.  For instance, I'm wondering if members couldn't make sure their bitcoin client peers with the pool's bitcoind in order to help propogate the pool's blocks faster.

I asked earlier if it would benefit anything (as in cut down stale shares, duplicates, etc. and perhaps even invalids) if the pool set up a VPN for the dedicated miners (possibly filtered so it's not abused), and possible with existing hardware without impacting the already running software performance. I don't really know enough, perhaps someone else does?

the good luck has to be coming soon, right?

Unfortunately, no. I hope Lady Luck comes back to us, perhaps she has found a more pleasing lover... Time to make sacrifices people. Next fullmoon, we better get out and dance around naked.

I ordered some time ago, I don't recall seeing it back then, and I was also contacted by bit-pay to clarify shipping country, so I think Im good. Just wanted to see if I could replicate that message Ente got, and I could, so I thought I would share it, just in case.

Absolutely fantastic!
I was just about to order a 12month pack, printed, intl.
It says "Nothing will be shipped for this order." on checkout, is that to be ignored?

Ente

Questions with your orders at memorydealers.com should be asked to Roger@memorydealers.com

I think he meant on bit-pay, I just checked, and it's correct, if you select the physical magazine (only worked if I selected 1x12 month international subscription) it says "No physical items will be shipped on this order." under the "Save Changes" link/button.

Hmm, having pool communication issues, us2 and us3, using cgminer 2.2.1, about to go to bed. Just wanted to inform.

I've been thinking about something for some time, and perhaps I should ask others that know better than me.

If the pool set up a VPN for dedicated miners (perhaps filter it somehow so it's not used to stream hulu or whatever), could that improve the stale share count etc? Is it viable in any way with existing hardware or would the increased cpu/memory/bandwidth load require a separate server (and with that, rising running costs etc)?

I'm bumping again.

PLEASE PUT YOUR DONATION AT 3% FOR ONE FREAKING WEEK!

C'mon guys it would be a nice thank you to Inaba for maintaining a pretty sweet pool and help keep him motivated when things are a pain in the azz.

Not that he's not doing a great job already, but let's do this!

Again, I don't know Inaba at all and have no relationship with the guy outside of these boards and mining his pool the past month or so.

I just believe there are too many "takers" sometimes in bitcoin and we should support those that contribute positively.

done.

Did a transaction last week, although it was slightly delayed, I got compensated, and communication was excellent! Will use the service in the future if/whenever possible.

Ordered the first issue. When I selected my country from the list and pressed the save changes, it reverted to USA, what I did was I wrote the country in the Region box, selected my country from the dropdown, saved, selected from the dropdown again, and then ordered. Hopefully that will work.

Do i have to enable "NMC Mining" at the accout page to enable Merged Mining or is it NMC only than ?

If you enable "NMC Mining" you will enable merged mining, "NMC only" is not possible on EclipseMC as far as I know.

edit: Which server is the closest to Europe by the way? Or are they all located at the same place?
My guess?  eu.eclipsemc.com  I could be wrong, though.  Wink

As far as I recall the eu server was cancelled due to the hosting prices, the ip is the same as us3.

Haven't tried it, will look into the whole thing tomorrow, gotta replace stock cooler on my 5870 anyway. Perhaps I will end up using cgminer, it's not that big of a difference to Phoenix.

Using Phoenix 1.7.4 on both machines. I get higher hashrates with it than with cgminer.

It seems whenever we find a block I get quite long miner idles, I set the timer to go to the back up pool if I get 15secs of idle time (up from 6 secs), and both on us2 and us3 I seem to be getting this problem. Just watched it happen...
138  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: VirtualMiner.eu - Game temporarily Down on: January 24, 2012, 03:40:30 AM
Thanks for the update, sorry to hear about the trouble. Hopefully you will be able to get it all resolved shortly. When it comes to the game, no worries there either from my part, better to roll back and fix stuff and be open about it.

I am currently watching cgminer showing "Pool 0 communication failure, caching submissions" and after a second, sometimes up to 6-7 secs later, it gets back and submits the shares. Pool 0 is us.eclipsemc.com:8337

edit: switched to us2 and now it all seems to work fine.

Yeah, forgot to mention (d'oh) that I was back and mining within a few mins or so. Sorry for the hassle.
