121  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What makes you invest in an ICO on: October 06, 2017, 01:57:50 AM
Idea, proof of concept, team, founders, backers, and coverage. My 6 pillars of belief when it comes to ICO's. For example, the Founder of Civic has a solid background.

The recent example of my pillars are UnikoinGold. Solid idea, vision, and team. Proof of concept is already there and backers are even more incredible. Read into them.
122  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Views on UNIKOIN? The Mark Cuban/Ashton Kutcher backed sports crypto? on: October 06, 2017, 01:51:15 AM
Investing in this coin will just make them richer.
You are totally donating your money to these rich guys..

Investors does not have any benefit from this

Investing money in any coin will make the creators of that coin richer. I understand that they are only selling 20% of coins in ICO but its not like they are keeping the other 80% for their own pockets.

Do you understand how big sports betting and online gambling in general is? Countries without legal casinos have no other choice than to play online.

This is an already functional esports casino, and all they are doing is adding a crypto currency for betting.

I feel this is better than investing in any of the 13757363 other coins out there where the devs start with what seems like a great plan but never deliver any real product.

If none of that interests you, then just the celebrity exposure should be enough to make a small profit in the short term and cash out if you feel like the project hasnt lived up to your expectations.

To each his own and DYOR, but you should take in all of these factors before coming to a decision.

And hey throwing a couple hundred bucks here and there doesnt hurt. Only what you can afford  Cool

Yes, I agree with this. Any ICO raising millions is making money, but when looking at casinos and betting, there's a lot of floating capital reserve that they need to maintain. Especially at the scale they're already operating in, I wouldn't blame them for setting the market cap high. And, another factor to consider that that they are trying to be THE token of the esports realm. That's another level that I'm investing in. This is a long-term call.
123  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: HOW TO SPOT A WINNING ICO on: October 06, 2017, 01:43:37 AM
I completely agree. For me it's about the founders/team, backers, idea, proof of concept, and press coverage doesn't hurt. It's so hard to find ICO's that fulfill all of these categories. One that's ending this month has really impressed me. UnikoinGold by Unikrn is an ICO for legal esports betting and tournaments. A very interesting idea that is more of a long-term game or if you're someone that participates in gaming/betting. They even do fiat betting in the UK and want to be the standard crypto in the esports space.

Definitely check them out because they have a solid team and are backed by Mark Cuban, Ashton Kutcher, Pantera Capital, and their advisor is Anthony Di Lorio, co-founder of ethereum.

https://unikoingold.com/

I could't agree more with this^. Never forget the whitepaper. Always read it and do your due diligence. I stumbled upon UnikoinGold's thread an they filled all the criteria for me. I threw in 300 ETH just a few days ago.
124  Economy / Auctions / Re: Spectacular Art Work BID NOW on: September 30, 2014, 07:02:34 AM

This fabulous piece of work took many many hours to complete.

Bid now and if I think it's fair we can figure out a deal.

Obviously this is the only piece in the world that is like this so it really is a one of a kind.

General feedback would be nice too!

Any questions about the image, just ask!

Start bidding!!

OKAY. Revised rules for the Auction. Starting Bid HAS to be at least 0.2 BTC. I'll say the bidding will close in 10 days from this comment.

Here is a working link to the piece.

Happy bidding.

Okay basically it's to do with Network Marketing. Didn't post cause people dismiss it straight away but it really is a great opportunity to make some extra cash. Watch this video and it will explain more. Please don't tell me it's a pyramid scheme because that is just down right wrong haha! http://youtu.be/EcgOWxH1DNY

fake youtube link + you say it's not a pyramid scheme means it is probably a pyramid scheme and no salary for the work so I am not interested Wink

Could you please enlighten me on what a fake youtube link is? I just pulled this off youtube so if there is something wrong with it please let me know.

Also, I only bring up pyramid schemes because that's the first thing negative people go for.

This type of stuff isn't for everyone. It will work for some and it won't work for some.

I can understand why you wouldn't be interested.

A lot of people dont know about the youtu.be feature, and so the regular link to the video would be http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EcgOWxH1DNY

Thanks mate. If you're on your phone I think it opens in the app rather than safari. Thats the only difference I have found.

135  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Bitcoin Feeding The Homeless on: August 11, 2014, 11:12:09 PM
It sure are great for publicity and recognition of bitcoin everywhere. But giving homeless people money/bitcoin is not good ideal in general. They don't need our money they need a way to earn money, it is like giving man a fish when you can give him a fishing rod instead it is just marketing stun.

How do you suggest giving them a fishing rod, as you say? Are you saying they shouldn't give out paper wallets?

I understand what you're saying but surely the homeless person would be happy to get a free meal for the night.

Getting homeless people a regular income is an issue of much larger scale and one that many places all over the world face.
136  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Bitcoin Feeding The Homeless on: August 11, 2014, 10:05:09 PM
Awesome idea.  I would love to see Bitcoin and places like soup kitchens and shelters accept Bitcoin.  Donations would be coming form all over and if the did show how the coins were being used that would only incentive's more people to donate, I have no doubt.

I know World aid coin is actually running a soup kitchen later this month but yeah would be great to see them all accept bitcoin.
137  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Bitcoin Feeding The Homeless on: August 11, 2014, 11:39:58 AM
So are they handing out paper wallets in bitcoin or worldcoin, because otherwise this doesnt promote bitcoin much just a crappy alt.

I wouldn't say crappy Alt when it's making things like this happen. The wallets will have bitcoin on them.

Someone purchased a decent amount of WAC for Bitcoin so they are using that bitcoin to help people, which is the basis of the coin.

Both bitcoin and WAC will obviously get publicity but Bitcoin always will stand out as many more people know about it.
138  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Bitcoin Feeding The Homeless on: August 11, 2014, 11:34:52 AM
From the 22nd - 25th of August two people from WorldAidCoin (WAC) are going around the Melbourne CBD handing out paper wallets to homeless people.

They have teamed up with a joint called Hero Subs who make sandwiches and the homeless person can go to an outlet and cash in their wallet for a sub and drink.

Think this is a fantastic way for bitcoin to get some positive publicity and also just an easy way to help people.

Great to see cryptos, even ALT coins being able to help people in need.

Check out www.facebook.com/worldaidcoin who have made this project happen.

I think it is a great thing to do if you guys really are legit (I just don't want people to get scammed, who try to do good things). If you like the idea, why not donate to Seans Outpost! He's also feeding the homeless, providing shelter and also bringing Bitcoin to the States, by doing this ultra marathon!!!

WAC is legit for sure. No way anyone can really get scammed as WAC are meeting with Hero Subs before hand and sorting it all out to ensure it will all run smoothly.

I'll also pass that on to WAC and see if they can get involved with helping him out. That sounds like a great cause too!
139  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Bitcoin Feeding The Homeless on: August 11, 2014, 11:28:50 AM
Where could they spend their btc?

A place called Hero Subs http://herosubs.com.au/

This way they can get a meal and a drink with their wallet!
140  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Bitcoin Feeding The Homeless on: August 11, 2014, 10:55:35 AM
Hello
Happy to hear that!
Think the problem is that homeless people will not be able to buy again. They will use it just one time to buy food and think of it as somekind of vaucher for food.
The good thi g is that they will do some  charity
BR

Originally WAC wanted to direct them to a bitcoin ATM to get them familiarized with the system etc but they require loads of ID and a phone number which most homeless people wouldn't have.

I'm pretty sure WAC will make a short video about what's going on and how WAC and BTC have fed homeless people and hopefully brings some positive attention to bitcoin and also World Aid Coin.
