121  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain technology has the potential to transform government on: February 22, 2024, 08:26:58 AM
Blockchain technology would help economies with its features that allow secure and transparent data sharing among multiple parties without a central authority.

Its positive impact would include, the increase in trust and collaboration between government, citizens, and business owners by providing immutable and verifiable records of processes and transactions. It'll, of course, register and lead to Economic growth by supporting new business ventures like decentralized finance, smart contracts, and so on. It'll also reduce bureaucracy, corruption, fraud, etc by enabling digital identity management in land registries, voting, taxation, and healthcare records.

Although there are lots of positive impacts, there would also be negative impacts. They are; conflicts with existing laws, rules, and regulations which would require new ones in order to address the 8ssues of data privacy, taxation, and so on. The second would be technical and operational complexity which may lead to slow operations and delayed results. Also, it'll lead to the redundancy of government in their responsibilities.

Honestly, everything that has an advantage also comes with its disadvantages, and these disadvantages have their respective controllable measure and solutions. So, it'll be worth it, to have Blockchain technology in government and Economic activities.
122  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: STRK(Starknet) Token Speculation on: February 21, 2024, 01:37:20 PM
Would definitely do my research on it. However, I already made a little and figured out it has less than a 1 dollar price tag and has already been listed on Binance. Investing in such a token would be very promising and interest-filled but may be dangerous at the same time.

But, with its speculations on several Media, it is worth looking at and probably even investing in.
123  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Seeking Advice ‼️ on: February 21, 2024, 01:22:11 PM
Hey everyone! I've got $1000 to invest before the next bull market kicks in. Should I spread it across five different coins or go all in on just one? What are your top picks for either strategy?

Diversifying and not diversifying both have their advantages and disadvantages. To be honest, even I would be confused if I had to make an investment decision, so I wouldn't lose my money.

So here's my advice to you, do your research on the best promising coins to invest in and make a list of those with the highest interest rates. Of course, Bitcoin and Ethereum would be there and you can't choose whatever comes after those 3.

If after doing your research, you're not convinced with the interests of the remaining 3 then I'd say you spread your income into only Bitcoin and Ethereum. A higher proportion in Bitcoin and a lower in Ethereum. Let's say 60/40. That way, you'd be able to earn way more than you invested by the end of the bull/ year, if that's what you want of course
124  Economy / Economics / Re: Save money today so money would save you tomorrow. on: February 18, 2024, 10:14:42 PM
I wasn't really a saving type, but lately looking at the current situation of things in my country, how costly things have gotten, once money enters your account or wallet, you'll be suprised of how you won't be sure of how it vanished, not to talk of having a tangible reason of what you did with the money. So recently looking at how people cry for money and personally looking at how I needed money I decided to start splitting the little allowance I get, saving one part and using the other, I won’t really say that it has made me a billionaire or that I no longer lack money but at least I have cash somewhere that I could call my own and fall back to in cause of emergency.
To cut the story short, I’m advising mostly the young people of our generation to save, avoid unnecessary spendings and save even if it’s so little, cause you might find yourself in a situation tomorrow and you wouldn’t want to call home or ask for help, cause you have a second choice, that means you are literally getting yourself out of a problem. So please it’s not too late to stop spending on things that doesn’t really matter, so basically the money you saved today could literally save you tomorrow.

Well, my story is quite contradictory. I was a saving type, the hardcore saving type, the type who'd save more than half of my money and tell myself it's for my future self, until I realized, at that rate my future self was going to be flat-out, an ulcer patient, and have lots of health problems if I don't play my cards right. Saving is good really, but I can never emphasize too much on how bad it'll be if you don't learn how to manage your money.

You see managing your money doesn't just have to do with not overspending, it simply has to do with channeling your money into the right investments, yourself, first always.

Don't get me wrong, please save, your future self deserves that. But make sure you're earning enough so you can save properly, instead of saving on low funds.
125  Economy / Economics / Re: Why we should prioritize investment over saving on: February 18, 2024, 09:18:36 PM
Saving our hard earned money have never been a bad idea, but their are certain things we need to consider before thinking of saving, such as inflation.
Inflation is truly the real enemy to every money that is being saved up, because when the time is right like a year time, when it should be used for it purpose, the value wouldn't be as how it actually was when you started saving it, but on the other hand, if we have been investing that money into Bitcoin, land or gold bit by bit, over the course of a year, the value of that your investment would have added additional value compared to our savings that will be eaten up by inflation.
So too me we should think of investing more of our money than saving it, so that  inflation wouldn't eat it up.

In Economics, we were always taught money saved was automatically invested. Took me time to realize that it was only invested into businesses as loans taken. And what you said was true, the value would have dropped making it a vain endeavor.

So, basically what I'm trying to say is that money saved and invested are still automatically the same but we should save our money in the right place. Don't save in banks, save in assets.
126  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A student investing in bitcoin? on: February 18, 2024, 09:03:52 PM
I first came to know about cryptocurrency in 2019. Back then some of my friends were discussing Bitcoin but I didn't understand much. After that, they were not even researched. Then in 2022, when I passed college and entered university, I heard new friends discussing Bitcoin investment again. They have benefited from this. Then thinking about making profit in bitcoin investment I want to invest in bitcoin. I also want to know how it works. Currently I am a part time teacher in a private college along with my studies, I work very hard to support my university life and my own expenses. I deposit some money at the end of the month. Now having interest to invest in this bitcoin I want to invest here. Should I invest my savings in Bitcoin?

Your savings ? ... Yes, you can do that. But please, please, please, don't go beyond that. Don't sacrifice your health for futuristic gains. Only a live and healthy person can be rich, yeah. So, if investing in Bitcoin WITH YOUR SAVINGS is what you want, then you should totally do it.

But if you don't have much in your savings, then I'd say you earn from campaigns.
127  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is investing in altcoin futures a good idea? on: February 18, 2024, 08:41:52 PM

Hi guys, do you think investing in altcoin futures is a good idea? Which altcoins do you think are best for this? I appreciate all the help Smiley

I want to believe a lot of people already said you should Invest in Bitcoin instead. Investing in altcoins isn't a bad idea, but there's a way better idea and that's investing in Bitcoin. More expensive, Way risky, and more profitable.

To be honest, the only way I invest into altcoin is through mining. Anything involving money, to me, should go into Bitcoin.
128  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gary Gensler: "Bitcoin is not that decentralized" on: February 18, 2024, 08:12:02 PM
I believe Bitcoin's decentralization is a perspective thing, cause of its arguments and counterarguments. It's not static, it's kind of a dimensional discussion affected by various factors. If Gary Gensler thinks Bitcoin isn't decentralized anymore, then that's his opinion. There are lots of people out here and there who believe Bitcoin is very much decentralized and all hoarding through the mining in Big firms doesn't affect its decentralization.

Even if it's becoming centralized slowly, there are certain factors that completely hinder it from becoming so. So, I believe there's no need to worry about Bitcoin's decentralization.

129  Economy / Economics / Re: Fed doesn't have rescue plan neither other central banks on: February 18, 2024, 02:17:18 PM
If the fed or another central bank have rescue plan than we would see this all ready.
Becouse when fed moves it's visible but nothing If so than 2024-2025 year will be the year of biggest loss.
A lot people become poor and a lot banks will lose customers money companies will foreclose and a lot clients funds will disapere, insurance companies not going to have enough funds either.

Your only wealth are the crypto in your wallet the gold in your home or Silver and cash in your pocket anything else can just disapere and nobody to blame on this.

Finances not teached in School If it would given the current situation people would panic everywhere.

No rescue plan this time we are going to correction and delevering all the assets.
Those who are ready Will know those who are not will wake up morning and will find out over night their years of hard work wealth is gone all.

It was really difficult trying to understand what you were saying, but I think you're talking about how people shouldn't leave their money in the bank since the economy is going down right?

If that's what you were trying to say then I totally agree with you. This is the right time for people to store their wealth in crypto wallets and gold or land and other assets. Storing your money in bank features like fixed assets would be a solid loss as continuous loss of value would affect the locked funds.
130  Economy / Economics / Re: Surviving the economy with creative thinking. on: February 18, 2024, 02:08:37 PM
It has come to a point where humans can’t just seat and watch things happen for themselves. As humans leaving in this kind of economy where things are not getting easier, we have to employ the art of creative thinking skills. It is clearly seen that to survive in today’s world. You must be creative in your thinking. The world is a global village that is changing rapidly. Humans must be innovative in their ideas and should produce different techniques. Which can be implemented in order to develop commodities and create a competitive edge.this is to say creative thinking plays a prominent role in today’s world.

Yes, creative thinking is what we need I'm order to survive this economy. But let's not be deceived into creatively doing bad things in order to survive. And also let's not be part of those who leave basic knowledge only to rush into things and call it creativeness. It'll be very unfortunate to lose what you have cause you're trying to be creative. Regardless, think outside the box, but back it up with knowledge.
131  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: The increase of altcoins on: February 17, 2024, 09:59:52 PM
When it comes to  altcoins, there are a lot of options out there with unique features and potential for growth
It's important to analyze and carry out a little research before making any investment decisions
Investing in cryptocurrencies can be quite risky, it's wise to invest what you can afford to lose
Just for the benefit of those that don't know altcoins, it's simply alternative cryptocurrencies other than Bitcoin.
But out of all the ones that have emerged, which is the safest to invest in currently?
In my opinion I would say Ethereum, cause it has been on the rise lately and gaining more worth.
This is a good altcoin that has a lot of futuristic potential.
But the value of crypto can be quite unpredictable which is why you must always be updated before making any investment decision

There are lots of altcoins out there that are safe and worth investing in at the moment, but I'd rather stand with Bitcoin all the way. I get that these other coins would have a potential increase in price and interest with the bull run, but why go to altcoins when you can invest in Bitcoin itself?

May be too much of an advocate, but that's my opinion. Not saying investing in altcoins is wrong or foolish. Just like op said though make your research before investing in whatever is safe for you. But for me personally, I'm sticking with Bitcoin.
132  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: The Nigeria system of education how it’s affecting the youths of today on: February 17, 2024, 09:52:59 PM
My people I greet oo. I don see say the way education system they go for Nigeria. It’s not encouraging oo. How education dy become so expensive, and the system they very poor. See as lecturers dy exploit from students. Without even taking a deep thought to know or even think how this Student’s are surviving. See how the government and the so called eduction bored  will be using the future of young ones to play any how. Some times we go for unnecessary strikes, they will say it’s for the development of our schools, and so on and so fort. Once the government pay them small money. The so called education board system, will take those money as their personal gain, without thinking of the students well being. The level of poor education system in Nigeria is really becoming a case that needs to be addressed.the leaders don’t really care about our education system, because all their children are in other countries that are well developed schooling.while the masses are here suffering in this so called Nigerian education system.

I strongly believe one's future of course lies in their own hands. If the lecturer is using your future to play, then don't play with your future. There a millions of ways to know what you need to know about different fields and niches all on the internet, and to be honest I believe the educational system is actually better than it used to be, except, of course, the increased rate of malpractice and the rest. My lecturer comes to the hall today and teaches ( like In detail). I get that may not be the situation for all of us but it doesn't change the fact that the lecturer can't tell you everything. He can't even tell you half of everything.

So, no matter how much the issue would be addressed, the best thing a student can do for himself/herself is to self-study. That is, of course, if that degree is really important to you, cause it's not important to a lot of people these days.
133  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: What if this forum allows private discussions? on: February 17, 2024, 09:43:58 PM
This forum has been designed as an online learning where you can login and find new ideas learn about crypto currencies and also share your little taught or find help from the forum from areas that you think you need to understand much better.

My question is, What if this Bitcointalk forum was also designed the way we have other online platform like, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and others where you can dm someone privately for a private discussion. What if this forum allows all kind of posts and memes, what if your pictures are also allowed to be posted.

Do you think this forum would have made more sense if you were allowed to chat someone privately or do you think it won't be matured anymore or will you see it as a fun place because this forum now everyone is focusing on business it is business minded now.
So what if the forum was created for one to be able to chat another privately.

You can chat someone privately on the forum. I assume someone would have already shown you in the comment section and as for posts and memes.... Really ?

What you write everyday, aren't they posts? And you can make a thread about specific memes of your choice. I think I've seen a thread about Donald trump memes or something like. Can't post links cause it's been really long since I saw it. And again, it's a freaking forum made a long time ago, who exactly were these suggestions for ?

The forum already has more than enough features, okay...
134  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Opinions on the Pi network on: February 17, 2024, 09:09:07 PM
I think the pi network are taking too long to launch the mainnet and most especially validate most of their users in queue for the kyc process.
Unlike before, the pi network hype had really gone down because of their delay.

I learnt people lost significant amount of pi coin due to late kyc entry and till date some people weren't able to pass kyc hence their pi coin is gone maybe I don't know if there were other ways they have used to restore back their pi coin. Just as you said have been hearing about this coin and they made lots of noise on social media causing them to gain much popularity even more than some of those meme coin that has been listed in the market today. Most times good projects takes time to list their coin, they takes all the time because they knew that most of the people who are holding their coin are just looking for a way to go dump them on market this made most project to set some limits and a total amount one could be able to sell.

I can't seem to understand the reason why anyone will lose the pi they have mined before despite the delay in kyc. Maybe they need to reach out to the pi team for assistance to restore their mined coins otherwise it will seen like a huge waste of time mining pi to end up losing them.

It's simple my friend, it's simply due of losing hope and deleting the app or just giving up on mining which would lead to loss of coins for those days ( been a victim of this one). But upon everything, the only thing that keeps me from not deleting the app is the noise it's still making on X. It wouldn't hurt to wait, would it ? But it'll definitely hurt me if I'd missed out on the opportunity.
135  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Knowing when to own your bitcoin on: February 17, 2024, 10:06:07 AM
Congrats on your win brother.

Anybody with Bitcoin knowledge and capital can easily invest in Bitcoin. So, I can't necessarily call it luck. However, be careful cause
this is only the beginning. Losing all you've worked for would be unfortunate.

Once again, congrats brother.

136  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Just hold in patience, nothing can stop the raging bull when it comes on: February 16, 2024, 01:38:50 PM
I do remember earlier this year or so, when bitcoin just showed its first sign of bull or we were still anticipating, i tried telling some of friends that we might be entering a bull soon cause for a while now since 2021 bitcoin has not come anywhere near its last ATH and some of my friends that lump summed during that period are still on a lose on their portfolio and were thinking of selling, even when bitcoin reached 41k and then reduced back to 35k when Grayscale where selling massively I could see lot of tension on some persons, then it occurred to me every time something new wants to happen in bitcoin history it always brings this panic that causes the weak hands to sell, I did my best telling them to hold a little longer and I won't blame them, especially when what they had planned to use the money for is due and some would say how would you know what it's feels when your just starting, yes true I might not have been in the business of holding for long but one tho I am sure about is nothing can stop the raging bull when it comes.

We all know that bitcoin would only continue to be scare as times goes, right now their is no asset that can be more scarce than bitcoin, not even gold and bitcoin offers more than an investment opportunity but also a good store of value.
And right now I can see a lot of happy faces as bitcoin reaches a new hight of 51k, I do believe a little correction might occur, but let's not be surprised that all our patients and steady buying might payoff soon as bitcoin can reach a néw ATH of 100k, its still early in the year and who knows what to expect.

Just hold and keep patience right by your side.

It has already be predicted by experts. By next year, a Bitcoin would have reached about $500k. So, this really is the best time of buy and store/ hold Bitcoin. Patience at this moment would pay off soon enough .

But I think this information isn't new to anyone here, yeah... Cause no one on the forum no matter how much of a newbie can say they don't know the price of Bitcoin is increasing real fast.
137  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It's stupidity to have thousands in Bitcoin using a software wallet on: February 16, 2024, 01:30:40 PM
The convenience that comes with using software storage methods cannot be compared to that of using hardware. Hardware is usually used by people who want to hold Bitcoin for a long time and it also has its own risk, although not as much as software.

So, it's not stupidity to store on software. Imagine telling a BTC trader to use hardware to store his Bitcoin. In as much, I do understand what you're trying to say and it's knowledge, but mind you everyone has personal reasons and influence, so not everyone would buy the idea. Don't get me wrong hardware's are great, but more convenient when one decides to start holding instead of trading.
138  Economy / Economics / Re: Opportunities During Economic Downturns? on: February 11, 2024, 09:57:54 PM
Are there any potential benefits that can arise from inflation, recession, or economic downturns? As they say, necessity is the mother of invention. We see an example when people in a country are  faced with very imports duty that individuals there become inspired to establish local businesses and initiate domestic production and start consuming locally as an alternative to imported goods. While this approach might prove successful in certain countries, others may encounter obstacles such as high operating costs and countless taxes on startups. This is a challenge that discourages local production. Despite these challenges, do you think there are still opportunities during economic downturns?

When the economy gets tough and the problems, too much , that's when innovation is born. The challenges won't disappear immediately, of course not, it'll linger for a while before the economy becomes better, then stable, then run on automatic.

As for the new businesses, and local manufacturing companies, the same thing applies. They are pioneer and solutions to most of the economic problems. Of course they are going to face alot of challenges but ensuring wouldn't make it worth it not just for them but for the country at large.

So, yes, downturns are even where more opportunities lies

140  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Bitcoin Investment VS Betting 😱😱😱😱 on: February 11, 2024, 09:17:34 PM
Good evening my people, today I say make I bring this very pressing issue come forum, I done dey here this matter on my social media handled , untill one of my guy tell me say bitcoin investment and betting na thesame thing nine the matter tire me , for me I know fully well say no be thesame thing  because number one the reason why people dey bet na say them one make big money from small money by luck, due to say something happen the way them plan, but bitcoin investment dey focused on to buy bitcoin come hold am for  a long time hoping say the value go rise.
Abi na the risk? Betting carry big risk because the fact say something go happen the way you plan am, no too sure like that, but for bitcoin investment I fit say the risk they smaller because na economic factors nine dey determine watin dey happen for the market, so at least for bitcoin  investment person fit make informed decisions , instead of to  just depend on pure luck.
Even the time duration sef na another thing, betting na more of short term something, abi no be small time e dey take for  slip to either enter or cut? But bitcoin investment na long term business way be say they take years to get returns.
And then for  betting sef when you place bet na only money nine dey at stake, nine make the outcome no too sure , but for investment na the whole asset nine dey at stake ,nine make investors they take bitcoin investment seriously because their money sef dey at stake.
Abi na regulations? Bitcoin investment dey highly regulated, so that the industry go get rules way go fit protect the investor, give intergrity and also give transparency to the industry.
Sha last last both of them na still matter of risk and rewards , if at all, e still good to know the difference so that you go know watin you  dey deal with.

So watin you con tell that your guy? Cause this thing we him talk so fit discourage a lot of people weh wan enter or already dey this industry .

Wait how Bitcoin and betting take be the same thing for e eye sef, abii buying gold and gambling be the same thing? And he for like get piece of land oo. Biko if you see am again help me tell am say buying land and Bitcoin na the same thing  Cheesy . So, make him no buy any land oo or any other asset.

Thank you.
