If the seller asks me, I'll provide signed message for sure
I'd prefer if you do so in this thread, considering that the last newbie bidder didn't really respond when contacted. in the future maybe the best would be to provide btc-address at the begin of those auctions and a general rule so any bidding newbie has to either deposit the bidding amount or a non-refundable fraction of the bid OR to bid in form of a signed message which proofs he/she owns enough to pay in case of winning. I already missed auctions in the past because of newbies pushing prices high without serious intentions. just my 2 bits.

the effect of moving to pos will be more negative than positive.. with the current wealth-distribution huge holders, also those temporarily holding big amount, receiving most benefits from a pos transition. not to talk about economical disaster. don't forget pow gives btc more value (electricity, hardware companies, researchers on field of pow/blockchaintech, and so on). in fact most of the value comes from PoW.

... So for a way "forward" I would suggest that devs should be managed by a development management team (maybe just one or two people can do that) whose job it is to keep the devs insulated from the outside (so they can do productive development work without the unwanted attention and pressure).
good input ciyam. very good. this is what really successfull projects have (need) as base. because (most) developers are not the types of people to handle too much "social"-stress and pressure... differentiation of labour / division of responsibilities is the key to success..

you may add more informations like what exactly is offered in this auction (domain, sourcecode, install-support, ??) and things like how it is developed if it is secure or already undergo a security audit, and so on.

you need to read through the source and do proper test to answer this question. Its nodeJS based and fully browserifiable. I think it will use a lot of RAM and diskmem and maybe overload your browser (it has full block database). But i have not tested this yet. Anyway seems to be a very interesting project from researchers point of view. Thank you for pointing out - Will watch the progress. #edit: i see, other people may abuse this project.. i hope not.

starting bid is 3 BTC or 0.1 BTC? (irritating because you say minimum bid is 0.1 - or you mean bid increment?)

Hi All
Is it possible to point out some software approaches which some companies have already implemented in terms of hashing more efficiently eg midstate calculations
I've been trying to read up some material but it is very difficult to understand as most are theories and actual companies don't (for obvious reasons) publish these things themselves.
Note: I use the term software but really all I mean is different ways or shortcuts into hashing.
A small list would be useful and then from there I can just do my own research more deeply into these
this is a interesting article about mining software/algorithm optimization: http://www.i-programmer.info/news/149-security/6646-optimize-mining-bitcoin.html
