121  Other / Meta / Is it Possible to Subscribe to Individual Threads Through RSS? on: April 17, 2013, 07:33:21 AM
I know I can subscribe to the entire forum with https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?type=rss;action=.xml

I tried adding something like &topic=130117.0 to the end of that, but it actually subscribes me to the parent board of the thread instead of the individual thread. Anyone have some ideas? I currently receive notifications through email for certain threads, but it would be much better to get those updates through my RSS reader.
122  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTCT.CO][LTC-GLOBAL] Crypto-trade.com : IPO started! on: April 17, 2013, 07:21:07 AM
It might be better to not list a launch date for the site if you aren't sure about it. After two missed launched dates, I'm already convinced that the site will not launch on the 20th. I hope you can prove me wrong.

What is the reason for forcing Weexchange onto BitFunder users? I wanted to start using BitFunder, but something messed up during my Weexchange verification and now I am unable to use BitFunder until Weexchange responds to my emails. This is one area where BitFunder falls behind BTC-TC in my opinion.

I believe your money is stored at weexchange all the time. This way bitfunder doesnt have to take the risk for the users bitcoins.

Ahh. This makes more sense. Guess I'll just have to wait to hear from weexchange in regards to my account.

Have there been any discussions on making the bet formula a bit simpler? Perhaps showing Decimal or American odds instead of the current weight system. I feel like people would be more likely to place a bet if it was easy to understand their possible winnings. It would also be nice if the possible outcome of the bet was displayed on the page where you type in your bitcoin address. For example, if the odds were 50/50 and you placed a 1btc bet it would say something about how you get 2 btc if you win the bet. This kind of thing seems to be readily available on most of the sports gambling websites I have used in the past, and it is always a welcomed feature.

126  Economy / Gambling / Re: Casinobit - LIVE ROULETTE - No Registration - FREE BTC on: April 15, 2013, 06:56:28 AM
Pretty cool setup. The only problem I ran into is the confirmation delay. I thought I won my first bet, but it turns out my bet wasn't placed until the next spin. On my second bet, I literally had to wait 20 minutes for my bet to be placed. Are you looking at solutions for this problem?

You had to wait for 20 minutes because the 0.5 bet was placed without any fees, as I've mentioned earlier bets that cost more than a certain amount of dollars will not be confirmed with 0 confirmations because then attacks would be profitable. This is pretty standard for any bitcoin casino.

EDIT: Total bets are now smaller than winnings.

Was pretty sure that's what happened. Good to know for the future. BTW, is there any chance of a CasinoBit offering on BitFunder or btct.co in the future?

128  Economy / Goods / [WTS] PS3 - 250 GB Playstation 3 with FIFA 13 and Uncharted 3 on: April 14, 2013, 11:50:17 PM
Bought this Playstation 3 a few months ago and have found myself not playing many video games lately. It was the 250 GB bundle with Uncharted 3 from Wal-Mart. There is one controller and an HDMI cable. Looking to get between 2 and 2.5 BTC for the bundle or around $225 at the current MTGOX/USD price level.

BCB is a class act. One of the few people on bitcointalk who I trust. I have sent him western union, PayPal and other forms of payment for BTC. He is also helpful as an escrow service. A+ bitcoin user.
130  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why is it so hard to buy BTC with USD? on: April 12, 2013, 04:06:18 AM
Because the dollar is not a good medium of exchange. It's difficult to transfer even small amounts of dollars to someone else across the world. This is one of the reasons bitcoin is so valuable.

There is probably an easy answer to this question, but what about the time it takes to confirm bitcoin transactions for something like a vending machine?

Edit: Nevermind. Googled around and found the answer to my question.
