Or people that came in to read were mostly bright enough...

Not from what I have seen in this forum, quite the opposite actually.

yay. More passive-aggressive insults.
123  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Excuse me miners , couldn't ask a few questions please. on: May 10, 2013, 03:21:52 AM
Yeah thanks for your advice guys
Was a little quick in ordering but hay I soon will be mining our electric costs are zero as it's combined in our rent.

The motherboard can hold two more cards!! so which cards would you buy?

Might want to check the temperatures that the 2 cards put out before adding another 2 more. They're so close together. The bottom one might be heating up the other card.

If they are the single fan XFX black edition XXX, the top card should be regularly going to 102*C and throttling while mining. Trust me. I have one. My hashrate increased by 20-30MH/s when I took out the 5770 I had right below it. It's still hitting on 95*C now that summer is approaching.

Water cooled setup.

This is the single reason I doubt the company so far. It sounds like a way to get people excited but is expensive and serves no real advantage cost-efficiency wise.

It also introduces complexity and additional failure points as well as adding additional maintenance for the customer. From a business standpoint, I cannot see this as a logical choice.
126  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Now available: Lancelot (Heavy Duty 2 x FPGA Mining Board) on: May 09, 2013, 04:38:32 AM
Keeping an eye on this. Waiting for someone who isn't a user registered in April/May to post about their received unit.

Edit: Thanks Pistachio. I had no doubts until there started being a whole bunch of people posting about received units and they were all registered within the last month.

I'll probably be interested in a single unit if I can't get a group buy. If I were to order in the next week, how big is your backlog?

Why? So you can 1.28x your money at the latest bitstamp XRP/BTC exchange rate?

Edit: You've been updating it competitively since.  Wink

Why are you buying something that techni cally isn't even a coin and gets destroyed during each transaction?

Because you can trade it for more at bitstamp and instantly profit 40%  Smiley

Yeah, but the price fluctuates quickly. The majority of bitstamp offers are over 12,000 (worse then my offer) - there is a small amount of people willing to do better, and that could evaporate by the time the trade is over.

Anyway, the Ripples I'm buying, I'm holding for the long run, as I think it has lots of room to grow. I could be wrong, it's a gamble I hope will pay off.

I checked just now and the price was 7780 for 1BTC. I made a successful trade and it is still the ask price.

Network Hash Rate   19,722.259 GH/s

I think you are off by 1000. There is no way the Litecoin hashrate is 19TH/s with scrypt.

Thanks, I guess it was too slow to the pool to report any data....

Hi , I'm using AndLTC Miner on my Nexus 7. It's work fine with litecoinpool.org but new registrations are closed for the moment.

I'm looking for another pool compatible with this app' ( coinotron , notroll did'nt work always the same 403 errors  ).

Is there someone knows a pool where it's works properly ?

Thanks , Larry.

There's no such thing as "compatible with this app." If it works, it works. If you are getting an error, please give more details as to the error.

At a 403 error, I am going to hazard a guess that you probably forgot to input the proper port number and instead left it at 80. But we'll need more details to figure out what is going on.

Is this what you are considering purchasing?
http://blog.wculver.com/uncategorized/for-sale-dragon-bitcoin-litecoin-mining-rig-dual-gpus-overclocked-built-for-max-power-efficiency-340w/

To be frank, this is a total crap design for Bitcoin or Litecoin mining.

  • Why would a miner want to pay for an expensive case?
  • The 6xxx series are the worst for mining. Especially Bitcoin mining, efficiency-wise
  • Core i5 quad core does not benefit mining. Mining BTC or LTC needs a cheap single core processor. The i5 is a waste of power and money.
  • 8GB is useful for LTC mining but not BTC mining
  • It looks like an old gaming computer than a mining machine
  • I don't for a second believe 350W from the wall claimed. See power note below.
  • If the cards in the picture are the ones I think they are, I have one. It has the shittiest cooler in the world.

That is my analysis of that machine.

Ideally what you want is 7xxx or 5xxx parts with a cheap CPU and a cheap case or no case.
136  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Poll: How much does it cost Butterfly Labs (BFL) to build a Jallapeno? on: May 07, 2013, 08:37:02 PM
This question can't really be answered. The highest costs were designing and contracting for the chips to be built. The more they ship, the lower the cost per unit.

And for BFL, specifically, all their fuck-ups, redesigns and underestimating cost them even more.

I don't check how often I look at my phone or glance up at my top left or top right monitor. Do you?
