Hello,

I've been reading a lot in this forum and it's time to put everything I learn in to practice. The goal of this post is to help other noobs like me to build their own rigs. I never built a pc before so this is going to be my first time Wink... hope all goes well Smiley

Rig 1

This was my first try, I ask a friend of mine for help building it but the components don't work as I aspected. I can only put 2 cards working. Bought some 1x to 16x raisers but the system gets instable, or, sometimes it doesn't recognize the 3 board at all. Maybe I have to buy some powered raisers...

So know I have a system with 2 Gpus and a second computer with one more gpu. The fourth Gpu laying still Wink

Problems so far:

I think the motherboard is not so good, it doesn't work with raisers. So I'm going to try another brand...

Gpus seems great, I can get around 600 with a litlle OC ( Witch I don't know anything, I'm very inexperience...)

The case only has space to 3 Gpus. I thought it was more practical to have a case but I'm going to let go that idea. Even if you get a great case the temps are lower if the gpus are at the open and with space between them.

Ram seems to work and the Cpu also

The Psu was another disappointing. I search in the cooler master site for a Psu that could handle 4 HD7950 and this one came trough. The problem is that It as 4 connections to pci express on the Psu it self, but only got 2 cables with 2x 8pins and 2 cables with 1x 8pins... I wll take a photo later...
So I can only connect 3 Gpus to this Psu... Not counting on that Wink

I Bought more equipment and will up date this post later today...

I tried bitcoin and every thing worked just fine but with lite coin I don't seem to get a connection to the server (any server)...

I'm sure it's something basic that I'm missing... Help please...

Hi,

I'm not computer Technic and I don't know nothing about code, so there are things a little confusing for me... Is there some tutorial on how to cpu and gpu mine litecoins?

I have been flowing the "get started" in the pool-x.eu but it doesn't seem to work... I follow all the steps but I´m sure I'm missing something. when I start the cpu miner, nothing happens. And when I try Gpu mining, I get an error saying that the openCl.dll wasn't found... I don't know what this means.

Can some one give me a hand please Smiley

I know this is not the right place to post, but I can't put it anywhere else...

Thanks Smiley

hi, does anyone know if there is any company selling asic in Europe?

It seems that every business is located in the US... The problem is that taxes for importing products from US is very high. I think china is cheaper so it could be an alternative... But I can't find any sellers there also.

Thanks Smiley

You pay the import taxes to your state, it dosent change if the thing comes from Russia china or the states, it's always the 20%.

If it's a EU supplier no import taxes are due in the UK.
An eu suppliers has to pay taxes on his imports outside the Europe.
Either way, you pay taxes on imports. It dosent matter if its another one paying them for you and charging you an extra.

---

hahahah, no! I'm not a criminal Wink

I live in Portugal and the taxe rate for importing products from US is 35% (more or less)...

Recently my father bought some clothing from the US, something that cost him around 30 euros after taxes and the costs from the border cost him near 100 Euros. That's a lot!!! Way more then 35% so I'm very reluctant in importing anything from US.

Some time ago I bought photographic material from China and didn't had to pay anything. Maybe it was because they send it has a gift...

You pay the same rate from USA and china. If the good sent from china are with a fake invoice that allows you not to pay the import taxes (that are not at 35%, what state are you from?), you are commuting a crime.

Thats not exactly like that, I will pay around 35% if it's coming from US. Don't pay anything if it comes from another European country and if it's from china... Well, usually  don't pay anything, but it's a mater of luck Wink even if I had to pay anything it will be a lot less then from US.

Thanks for your help Smiley

I know that changes are on the way, that's why I'm going to start with litecoin.

For now I just wont something to get me started, then if I like the way things are going I will invest in something more serious for bitcoin...

I believe that Litecoin have a great margin for profit so I'm pending between investing in hardware and buying some coins... Maybe both...

Let me just say, off topic, that this is a great thing. I just discover this world of virtual money and I'm very enthusiastic about it. This could be the answer for the world financial problems. No more control by governments and greedy bankers. Sorry if I'm offending someone ideas, but I live in Portugal and we are living in very difficult days. I'm tired to see average people paying for the greed of some corrupt politicians. It's revolting. It has to stop!!!

Thanks

Hi,

I'm new here... I have been reading a lot about bitcoin and litecoin and I believe that it's the future. So I wont to jump the ship Wink

I'm going to start with litecoin because it's easy to get the feel of it... At least it seems that way. No big investements needed.

What do you think of the ATI 5970? I have read here https://github.com/litecoin-project/litecoin/wiki/Mining-hardware-comparison that it has a better performance than newer cards, is this true?

I'm on the market for a new graphic card, and my options are, a second hand 5970 (or other older card) or a new version one.

Can anybody help me please Smiley

Thanks in advance
