121  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: February 21, 2016, 06:06:34 PM
im having trouble with mining lately,  "GPU can’t allocate the DAG in a single chunk. Bailing."  mining was ok weeks ago. are mining are more difficult now, or is it my gpu dying ?

ya i would ask about your gpu also.
i HEARD, (don't quote me)  that requirements are pushing towards TWO GB memory cards
and the 1GB is getting pushed out (unable to allocate full dag)
now, i only heard that , but if you have a 1gb card that may be it ;\
also i heard you can split the dag into chunks?
tbh im not sure how to do that tho, i have a 2gb card (750ti) that has been running about 2 months almost str8 on OC's pool no prob
122  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ◆Rubies◆ [RBIES] Unique distribution | Backed by established business at launch. on: February 21, 2016, 06:01:08 PM
As we stated at launch, we wanted to give #RBIES a valid use-case. We are just amazed at how much everyone is using Rubies, look at the past 24 hours of volume on our site and you will see that even though the coin is a mere 8 days old it's already gained huge attention.

24hrs Bets: 840,900   Wagered: 38284840.1175 RBIES

 Shocked

Bitcoin Betting volume was also 500 BTC in the past 24 hours people are really Bet-Mining hard!

nice! if i may ask, what happens to bet rubies the site wins?
do they stay on the site for increased bankroll?
do they stake?
just asking, wondering about how many coins are, and will be , on the market in coming months Wink

-continuing to support , love this project.

Min. Staking Age: 30 days

Block Rewards:

2-100: 0 (instamine protection)
101-50,000: 100 (~ 1 month)
50,001-100,000: 50 (~ 1 month)
100,001-150,000: 25  (~ 1 month)

300,001-350,000: 1.5625 (~ 1 month)

looks ok, but may i suggest re-considering the min stake age?
this being a somewhat "hi-pos" coin, the 30 day min age is brutal!
this will be a hi-pos trading coin that noone can stake! (is your premine staking now?)
just a suggestion Wink
Dubai is my shit so ill be in either way haha

126  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [Unmoderated KRYPTON (KR$) THREAD on: February 20, 2016, 02:25:54 AM
I agree that it is pretty weird, and confusing that she is dodging any valid question. She is not very active in the thread, and most responses seem to be cookie-cutter responses. I am not sure what they are trying to do, but that is not the way to have success with anything.

yupp my thoughts too.
it will be interesting to watch, it's weird yes that she's not trying harder to support her coin and "team", and very seldom around the thread.
trolls like me can be shut up very easy with honorable responses
and vets like you can be satisfied with responsive answers and proper tech details,
does not seem hard for straight arrow projects ;\

time will tell, this thread will sit for thoughts as her project carries on
127  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Genesis-Mining Review on: February 20, 2016, 02:06:44 AM
Genesis Mining is about to get a competition in the area of cloud Ether mining. In a few weeks, according to my info, someone else s going to offer these contracts, cheaper and better. So, I guess the era of monopoly and profit taking has come to an end.

oooo, although i hope you dont mean hashflare, those guys look scammy as shit haha

well then you should know that they ARE backed by a real company
i too was skeptical about hashflare, but they are backed by hashcoins, who are established miners so don't worry Wink
i think that WAS who ivan was speaking of , as i noticed they added pre-sale for eth contracts recently to their cloudmining site (0.1btc per 1mh/s)
my only prob was their was no mention of what happens to the contracts if/when Casper happens and ETH goes Pos ;\

Ya, i stand corrected on that one ..   i never knew they were backed by hashcoins and went cynical too fast my bad lol   Tongue
128  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / [Unmoderated KRYPTON (KR$) THREAD on: February 20, 2016, 02:03:28 AM
Sigh, sadly Coventress seems to want to dodge our questions and concerns and now she has moderated my response to her garbage speil piggybacking ETH . , and so i will make this thread, for others as well to voice what they think is going on, the "KR TEAM'S" plans in general, and well anything they want, UNMODERATED.

Hello, Krypton!

Welcome, everyone. I hope you’re as excited about the launch of Krypton as I am!

I know you’re looking forward to reading Krypton’s development plans, so let me quickly summarize where we are and where Krypton is heading.

Krypton is currently in stage 4 of the life-cycle of an Ethereum-based project. The digital cryptocurrency $KR has been created. **

Krypton will have a website and social media accounts to aid with marketing and dispensing news and development updates.

Once the $KR token has been tested and approved and the Swap/CFC completed, Krypton will be ready for marketing and exchanges.

Allow me to make a quick detour outlining Krypton’s plans to address a common question, $KR’s inherent worth.

In order for someone to see value in this project, one needs to understand smart contracts.

Here are a few excellent articles on the subject:

What are Smart Contracts? Cryptocurrency’s Killer App -
http://www.fastcompany.com/3035723/app-economy/smart-contracts-could-be-cryptocurrencys-killer-app
‘Smart Contracts’ are the Future of Blockchain - http://www.americanbanker.com/bankthink/smart-contracts-are-the-future-of-blockchain-1078705-1.html
Smart contracts in the news: https://www.google.com/search?q=augur+microsoft&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8#tbm=nws&q=smart+contracts

In the future, trustless smart contracts will be included in most business models, from auto loans to home entry systems. The vast explosion of interconnectivity via the Internet of Things makes this indeed, an unmapped frontier.

I hope it is clear that Krypton is more than a coin. It is, in fact, a token of a smart contract system. This is why you don’t see Krypton listed as some snappy and unique coin with a gimmick. $KR is a smart contract token that has not yet been licensed.

Back to the plan. The next step is to market Krypton to projects that need a ready-made smart contracts blockchain on which to perform trustless transactions.

An example of one such project, currently running on a Krypton-type, Ethereum-based platform, is Augur, which uses the token $REP.

Quote
Augur is a prediction market built on top of the Ethereum blockchain. The concept is a tool that allows users to forecast events by using software that understands the odds of basically any probability better than you do. This could make betting on sports games, elections, and future events easier because the protocol is meant to be more consistent. Augur (http://www.augur.net/) uses a token within its system called REP (reputation) that gives a user more trust in the network. After an event occurs those who use the system more truthfully get rewarded REP. The startup just recently finished a crowd sale (http://bitcoinist.net/prediction-market-platform-augur-launches-crowdsale-today/) and also created the first contract on Ethereum’s Frontier.  [source: http://bitcoinist.net/six-ethereum-projects-and-its-five-competitors/]

** If you haven’t yet checked out Ethereum’s website (https://ethereum.org/), I encourage you to do so. Their site does a nice job of explaining the life-cycle of an Ethereum-based project, like Krypton. Ethereum also lists many more companies that are currently employing smart contracts in their business models. Take a look at them.

Consensus 2016 (http://www.coindesk.com/events/consensus-2016/), CoinDesk's summit on digital currencies and blockchain tech, is only three months away. Companies looking to license Krypton’s smart contract capabilities will be there. So will I.

"Smart contracts are really the killer app of the cryptocurrency world." -- Chris Ellis

I invite you to join the Krypton community by taking part in the Croud-Funding Campaign in the coming weeks. We’ve just begun our journey. The frontier awaits.

MY DELETED RESPONSE

ur kidding right?
that was just a buncha info about ether apps and smart contracts...
have you guys done anything yourselves but make a wallet and a coin?
or have any projects being worked on?
except marketing ?
"krypton will have social media accounts"
thats literally ALL i read about anything KR is doing itself, and that's nothing imo

ok well thx for ignoring our questions and concerns and just piggybacking more eth stuff
i am out, thank god i never bothered switching the eth rigs for this

Double you money with ETH  doubler contract, already 2735.52 ETH paid.
http://app.etherdoubler.com/

Is this really proven to work or is it just another ponzi scheme? Can anyone provide proof of this? I have seen some posts saying that they have received payment, but showing proof would make it ideal to prevent falling for the scam.  Roll Eyes

of course this is a scam...  don't be dumb.

lol.
if you would have even BOTHERED to look at this you would undertstand
1 --  this is a prime example of the power of ETH with smart contracts
2 ---- looking at the contract myself (https://live.ether.camp/account/fd2487cc0e5dce97f08be1bc8ef1dce8d5988b4d/contract)
it was built using ether's Solidity language (please tell me you know what THAT is)   and is verifiable.
3  --- this is only a BASIC example of what kinda of trust-less hands free smart contracts can be built on ETH

so is it a ponzi? YES . look at the contract
is it a scam?  no.   it's a verifiable hands-free ponzi.
it's the power of ETH.
would i personally have made my own ETH project a ponzi smart contract? nah, but it's sure cool to see Wink
have i used this service? NOPE. dont care for ponzi's. legit ones or not haha

good day sir!  Wink

I'm not worried about your negative trust because you blatantly lied in your feedback and left no relevant reference. Looking at your history, you have done this before and someone posted negative feedback on you for it.

As far as BTCU? There have been no issues with this coin, other than the ones coming around this thread yelling "scam! Dump your coins!" because of an unrelated matter with the dev. The coin itself had a couple hiccups with launch schedule but mining was strong since the beginning. Switched into hybrid PoW & dPoS without any issues, and we are awaiting to see how the transition into regular PoS goes. The 20% of the premine has been airdropped successfully (my 33.22 coins is currently 93.22 because of dPoS). I have had zero issues with this coin.

You want me to pick a side? I'll side with making my own decisions about what coins I hold or dump. You, or anyone else for that matter, will never make those decisions for me. You think that sends a bad message to newbies? Go warn them to dump their coins in the Scam Accusation section of the forum and keep your whining out of this thread. If you don't hold any coins, your input is not needed here.

meh like i care about the neg, unlike u i am using my throw away account for my honesty here, and look at that my hero still green Wink
idiots, have funs with your bag,

132  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: New Miner X5 on BitFury 16nm chips on: February 19, 2016, 06:41:05 AM
Funny.

You guys all know that Bitmain will release something that destroys Bitfurys 16nm tech right?

They always have before and im sure it will be a mic drop again soon.

No one knows on them as they are not very public about things they work on, which makes sense as if they say we will have a new chip X date... sales drop on current gen.

We do know they listed another  batch of S7's so at least into march that is what they are making.  It's hard to say if/when they will have something new.  There has been no leaks or info to show they have a chip or will soon.

i agree. while i have been wondering what bitmain is working on i also remember, i think correctly, that we had with the s7---
----leaked rumors up to 7 months before hardwear in hands (s5+ and s7 talk)
----leaked tech info around 5 months ahead

so for no leaks (that i have seen) about new gen bitmain hardwear one has to wonder  ---
will they just DROP something?
will they use cheap power they have and mass setups to fight their battle with s7's?  is that even possible in this exahash stage?
oooo , excitting times
could get ugly or wonderful real quick.

o , and im on board with others here before me saying
"i'll believe it when it ain't just a rendering and words"  (and have btc waiting)

133  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [Ann] Krypton KR, Ethereum - Based Cryptocurrency with Smart Contracts on: February 19, 2016, 04:28:27 AM
In her defense, she did say any remaining KR would be burnt. So after all the mining, swap for GAIA, and ICO for BTC, the rest will be burned. And if she is truly good at marketing and follows thru with getting adoption and use for the coin, who knows it may go somewhere.
I can easily see this getting on Yobit for example. But to get to Bittrex, dev would have to get a lot more buzz going for the coin and court Bittrex. Getting onto Poloniex would be a challenge as the coin would really have to prove itself. So I ask Covertress, how much work and how far are your willing to go to make this coin succeed?

All the way. I didn't create Krypton to be a coin that sits in a wallet. Aside from social media promotion, I plan to take Krypton to Bitcoin conferences, like Consensus2016. A portion of the proceeds from the CFC will be used towards this. There are some big companies entering the Ethereum Frontier. I want to meet them face to face.

no tech, just a promise you will spend the premine you dump on us for travelling the world to promote YUR COIN?
where's the revenue stream for miners/traders?
sorry to be cynical, but really?
WHERE'S THE BEEF??!?!

Harsh in the manner you made your statements, but valid concerns nonetheless.

KR team: What is is that KR is going to do? What does KR do for crypto, the community, the technology? Are you going to create something usable? Being able to visit different conferences and meeting people is a lot of fun, but what is your answer when someone asks you, "Why?"

ahh i admit yes harsh, what can i say i lack social skills ;\
i am trying to learn the finesse to be used here
i guess my point was i believe the time of investing in "people" and "teams" has passed imo
why? because "people" are scumbags
people want real world usage, or tech, or innovations of SOMEKIND of revenue or way to get some of our btc back ;\
man we fight hard enough for adoption of btc, we need real world application for alts, not clones

i await your answer to the veteran members valid questions, and all of our concerns.

No one knows at this dev plan , view and allow time to talk  Smiley

idk man i think it went a little south on the business plan
in my opinion i think the dev underestimated the power of the market
allowing so much mining diluted the market to the point where the lenders were in a better position to default then take what had become a "shitcoin" back (their collateral)
i dont know how he could have remedied that problem at that point, other than to buy up all the extra coins to inflate the value again,
but of course he had the pre-mine, so he didnt/couldn't buy up the market to inflate the value, leaving himself in a pickle

let this be a failed business plan lesson to anyone happening upon this thread.

Amazing!

Yeah  Grin

Get 840,000 decred, promise to keep them a year or two for the greater good.

But anonymous F _ingsoc will USE the 840,000 decred she wont sell to stake "at least half" of all PoS rewards, actually much more, thats at least 450,000 "free" decred this year, and the year after, when the PoS returns are highest.

In 2 years, anonymous F _ingsoc will have MORE PoS than the origional 840,000 anyway. For "free". selling as she goes.
Then they can dump the 840,000.

anonymous F _ingsoc doesn't point out that part. Is that in the constitution?

no one, except me, even notices? Now that's amazing.

I can't imagine holding any coin for a whole year, (except BTC) My weak hands will probably let go of the few coins that I have long before then. So, let them dump away a year or two from now. Cheesy

that's why noone cares dude, same old. people are so greedy that they dont even care if a coin is shady and destorys the community "as long as they can make money let them dump in a year or two"
