People dumping at 38-39 weeks would be unwise. If you hold for the full 40 weeks you become a founding member and have voting power on the direction the coin will take. If you look at similar privacy coins and their value now I doubt many people would have sold. Either way, let them sell. I'll be buying them all Cheesy

I agree, I am buying some as well, there are only a limited amount of accounts on bitcointalk and many of the people selling will be blacklisted forever now and as the reward continues to creep up, we will be rewarded for holding.

a little Sneak Peek of New System
dev, Is this new system for new users joining the airdrop or should all the existing users have to re-register in the new system as well?
Yes it is for new people only we will maintain current ones.

Hey rainbow are there any updated rules for the airdrop this week that someone who was accepted in last week's airdrop might need to know? Last week I missed the whole updated signature thing but I did change it and was accepted. It says accepted on the status check. I know you guys are trying to crack down on accounts which are just post farming, but that shouldnt be a problem in my case, just something I might have missed like another signature update ect.

We need to keep wallet open to stake coins? Can we open wallet only several hours per day, and get the same as if it was open 24/7 ?

I ussually open my wallet 3-4x per day to check, so far the weight is still increasing,.. so i think 24/7 open is optional but faster and more chance for staking rewards

I was curious about this too, in terms of how the coin age works with the staking. If I would guess, the coin age will continue to increase even if the wallet is closed, but you wont actually get the stake, unless you have the wallet open. Im pretty sure this was the case with other staking coins I have participated in, before. If im wrong someone please feel free to correct me and set the record straight.
124  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: So I have BCC and BTC or what? on: August 21, 2017, 04:28:55 AM
make sure you keep the wallet where your coins are and dont just move coins and delete it, because your coins wont stick together. If you send bitcoin to a new wallet and get rid of your old, you will lose your bcash.
125  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin be useful for governments and banks? on: August 21, 2017, 04:24:09 AM
The people saying banks and governments consider bitcoin as their rivals really dont know these spaces or the people in them. I have many friends on wall street and they consider bitcoin a threat like people would consider a mosquito a threat. Its annoying but they do consider it or see it a threat. Governments only really see it a threat for money laundering and in reality it is very hard to launder the amount of money governments even care about with the current liquidity. It might be useful for governments to buy as a store of value, but thats really it. There might be fringe cases where a blockchain would be useful as well.
126  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Crash?? on: August 20, 2017, 12:52:16 PM
Experts have no idea if bitcoin will crash, just like they have no idea if it will go up in value vastly. People claiming they called it got lucky mostly. I also think long term technical analysis is also bullshit.
127  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitcoin will cross 500k USD$ in 2017 on: August 20, 2017, 12:49:56 PM
No it wont, not in 2017 and not for a long time if ever. You do realize how much of the world's investment money would have to be eaten up in order for that to happen? I like bitcoin but I think these ridiculous claims hurt and mislead people who dont know about the technology. Also before someone says something like "Thats what people said about it going to 100 when it was at $1", they are not the same thing, one or two small net worth people alone could have pushed the price that high, in order to push bitcoin to 500k you would need the entire world economy to invest.

How to contact the developers? I contacted the OP here, in the official forums I contacted this guy called "deeper" and I posted a thread but no single answer  Huh  Huh

90% of your onions must be available in your garden to receive airdrops.
Only 10% of your onions can be plucked from your garden.

Crypto just a heads up you might want to explain the garden for some people on the main post, just put something like (Garden is the amount of coins earned in the airdrop). Some people who have english as a second language might not get it right away.
129  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][HLM] HELIUM - PRE NOTICE on: August 20, 2017, 12:33:37 PM
still time to buy spreadcoin and swap? where to get Helium now

Yes the date hasnt been announced yet, but more than likely it will come within the next few weeks. However just a heads up, its more of a redemption though because you get to keep the spread and you get the helium as well when the chain launches.

Also if you are not on the slack, coins101 said they are extending the testnet to the public soon so if you have any technical ability with UI design and bug testing, hop on there and lend a hand.
130  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can Bitcoin Still Go Up? on: August 20, 2017, 10:08:58 AM
Bitcoin is the best store of value period if we are talking about the coins today. Not to mention it has the best and brightest developers in the space, the people who have been involved in digital cryptography since the 80s-90s. Also you are looking at the price of a coin as "too much" but what you need to look at is market cap. Bitcoin, a censorshipless store of value that can be sent to anyone in the world for a comparatively small fee and it only is valued at the price of a medium sized company like paypal. Even if we went up 5x we would still be under the price of apple, a centralized company. There is so much money out there looking for a good store of value and even now we have only seen a fraction move into the space.
131  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin price pump, altcoins dump? on: August 20, 2017, 09:54:10 AM
We go through periods of money going into altcoins and going into bitcoin. With the price rise of BCC I also think probably many alt speculation moved into there for the time being. Its just the nature of the market since many people who are involved in alts are more speculators than long term holders. It will continue to shift between the two for the foreseeable in my opinion as there will always be people speculating more than others and looking to make a quick buck.
132  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Which Masternode to invest in? on: August 20, 2017, 09:43:50 AM
Wrong board as someone said before, but if you really want to check out masternode coins look at (http://masternodes.pro/?sort=roi&view=grid) It shows the return on investment, price of the node ect. Take in mind masternodes are nice, but the most important thing is that the coin will keep its value or the % roi per year wont mean anything if it loses the value.
133  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][HLM] HELIUM - PRE NOTICE on: August 20, 2017, 09:39:11 AM
Any idea how much a heads up we'll get on the snapshot? We're fast approaching the release date without news on that.

They stated that it might only be a few days so I would be prepared now if you are going to buy coins or hold them in a specific place. Holding them in a wallet would probably be the best because you know if something goes wrong with bittrex, you still can do it the old fashion way. I told coins and karma that we should be given at least a week to prepare for the snapshot and spread the word, hopefully they listen to me.

Does the change of those accepted into the airdrop affect people already accepted as well or is it for people applying in the future? I cant say I disagree with the removal of low quality posters, if someone is obviously just responding to posts to get their 10 post minimum and not actually participating in bitcointalk, they arent going to be involved in the project.
135  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Segwit2x Developer Jeff Garzik Removed From Github Repo on: August 19, 2017, 12:10:48 PM
Jeff has said in the past that he thinks people should be removed who dont make commits. He hasnt made one in 2 years. I dont know if he is even really upset, I havent seen him make a statement on it personally.
136  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ⚡ [ANN] ⚡ DeepOnion TOR Integrated ⚡ No ICO 🚀 FREE Airdrops 🚀 6th of 40 Rounds on: August 19, 2017, 10:15:55 AM
^ I agree, not only because if they sell their coins off they wont continue getting airdrops, but just because signatures do spread the awareness of a project and ultimately send people here to invest or buy coins. I know personally I learned about many projects through signatures and I believe it is one of the fairer ways to distribute coins. It can be gamed, but devs like rainbow are doing a very good job making it very hard for someone to cheat the system.
137  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happens if we die? on: August 19, 2017, 10:07:51 AM
There is a large possibility that coins are slowly disappearing which only makes bitcoin a better store of value. Its not like a physical bar of gold where you can claim it if you die by just picking it up. If someone doesnt know the password or the private key, essentially its gone forever. I personally have my passwords hidden in my room and hope that if I die my family could access my coins.
138  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Cheapest place to buy BTC with USD on: August 19, 2017, 10:05:51 AM
Just wire money to an exchange. Use gdax instead of coinbase itself, they are the same company, but coinbase the website charges you for ease of use. There is also gemini and kraken.
139  Economy / Speculation / Re: Still don't believe BTC can reach 5K, then 10K and then 50K? on: August 19, 2017, 10:03:03 AM
Im more worried about the value being split between the multiple chains. I think bitcoin is the best store of value around, but it is also very vulnerable to attack when the community is split and the mining power switches from chain to chain to get profitability.
140  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lights...Camera...Bitcoin! on: August 19, 2017, 08:16:54 AM
Im sure that some actors and actresses have bought and own some bitcoin. We know ashton kutcher has and im sure others under the radar own some as an investment.
