121  Economy / Economics / Re: the life of the society venezuela depends on crypto on: July 18, 2018, 11:29:12 AM
Or maybe there are already bitcoin related crowd-funding efforts to help the people in Venezuela? I have no idea, do share if you know some.
There aren't any bitcoin-related crowd-funding efforts to help Venezuelan citizens but as far as I know, there is already one when we would take away bitcoin-related and replace it with crypto-related. This article talking about financing villas for the homeless with Petro have been published recently, it is nice to see crypto serving a good use case for them but for now, I am hoping that someday we will see something similar which is related to bitcoin as well.
122  Economy / Economics / Re: Quantum cryptography imminent? White House earmarks over $1B for research on: July 17, 2018, 01:37:37 PM
quantum computers will not break privatekeys or anything like that... I think in the long term quantum computers  will be good for cryptocurrencies. I think this is all fud.
Anything that might jeopardize cryptocurrency will serve its purpose to those who spread FUD, whether they are not that dangerous or not and quantum computers are no exception since it being able to decrypt private keys in a short period of time is still a possibility.
they do not develop things like quantum computing technology on their own, although they are good at stealing technology from others. Apologies if I sound biased here. Perhaps my views are a bit outdated?
It ain't outdated but I wouldn't call it stealing technology from others if the data needed to develop it is open-source and can be easily accessed by others(published researches).
123  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin (BTC) Price Analysis: Bulls Refuse To Back Down on: July 16, 2018, 12:24:22 PM
Do you think they sell all or something is left in their bags?
When they are spreading FUD(typically kwuckduck), it is obvious that they are hoarding bitcoins into their stash and they might have had sold a big portion of their bags long before they even spread FUD but there are some left in it(probably).
Even my so-called optimistic low of 5500 in June wasn't reached. I REALLY wanted to be wrong and see it at 5k then, cause I was getting paid for a lot of back work owed, and would have been nice to get the extra 20% or so bump by being at today's price had my low been reached.
That's what you get for waiting in vain. Do not expect bears to wait for you to jump into the market before they stop their actions.
124  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Really possible to send money anonymously through Bitcoin? on: July 15, 2018, 09:28:18 PM
is there any possibility to track my details through Bitcoin? Is really Bitcoin is the trustworthy to send the money anonymously?
It can be tracked if they have the means to do so(if they are someone with a position in the government, they can). If you are only transacting with an average joe, you shouldn't worry much about being tracked. Even if you fulfill the exchange's KYC, they wouldn't reveal it easily unless you are paying for something illegal(which would require them to reveal it to authorities).
125  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I represent an ICO project - can I be allowed faster to write an ANN on: July 13, 2018, 11:38:23 PM
Can I be allowed to write an announcement earlier than participating in the discussions?
You are allowed to do so but there will be limitations(such as you not being able to post a picture). I wouldn't suggest you buy copper membership either because I don't trust those newbies who post announcement threads even if they are a copper member(since it is easy to invest into it when you plan to scam people, you will recover it after all). You would be better off hiring someone to post an announcement thread here for you.
126  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How a trader should deal with the stress? on: July 12, 2018, 09:10:38 PM
Dude, I would not have the patience to stay for 5 minutes at this site, being honest here, when I lose money when I trade, I get so angry that I'm going to sleep, I prefer sleeping because when I wake up I'm calm and I can think of some solution to my problem.
That site can at least help you sleep. I am trying it now and somehow the piano music and the nature background in the video is making me feel sleepy if I stare at it long enough.
I only see a website with nature and a working time counter. The video doesn't work.No music.
I will check it. thx
I have checked it OP and all is fine. Maybe his internet is slow, that's why it is only displaying nature with a working time counter. It is working fine for me.
127  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum VS Bitcoin flippening possibly coming soon? on: July 11, 2018, 11:33:10 AM
I think OP has been giving a sense explanation about that. in fact, the majority of people are seeing marketcap as the main data to determine how good cryptocurrency is.
OP did make some sense on his explanation in the first part as well as the last part and I am not saying that he does not make sense but I merely am trying to say those people who are seeing market cap as the main data to determine how good cryptocurrency are typically noobs who invest without doing their own research first, jumping into hype easily. Also, I don't agree with him that the flippening would be caused by market cap because it is obvious that ethereum here has more supply than bitcoin thus making it a bad indicator of money flowing into it.
128  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum VS Bitcoin flippening possibly coming soon? on: July 10, 2018, 09:16:45 PM
That fresh money coming to Ethereum are the money of those people who don't have any background on investments, we will also see the first ever bubble in ethereum. Also, I think market capitalization is not a good reference to use in terms of ethereum dethroning bitcoin, Market cap is a false number derived from total supply times the current price which can be accurate because not everybody can sell at the current price.
129  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Change Mobile Phones with Wallets on: July 08, 2018, 12:59:54 PM
You can try to just export the seeds of those wallets on your phone as adviced by someone above, but if you want to permanently remove the risk of getting your private keys leaked from unwanted people(if you plan to throw away or sell your old mobile phone after moving your funds), You should just transfer your funds out of your wallets from your old phone to the wallets you will create on your new phone.
130  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which one is the best blockchain news platform? on: July 06, 2018, 11:57:03 PM
You need not look for other sites to get blockchain related news because you can get wind of crypto-related news here in this forum(even rumors). If you need to verify the legitimacy of that information, then simply look for its sources. If you want to use another blockchain news platform though, then just stick with the recommendations of others above, IMO all of those platforms that they mentioned are credible sources of crypto news.
131  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin go under FBI investgation on: July 01, 2018, 09:30:19 PM
The 130 cases are probably about deep web activities or about some big fishes irl. Nothing bad about this.
Probably but they could be actively investigating bitcoin users itself through their activities on blockchain, and not as a person unless they know who particularly owns the address they are monitoring.
if FBI should investigate bitcoin because of the gained it makes in 2017 then I think FBI is the enemy of humanity.
Why would simply investigating bitcoin will make FBI the enemy of humanity? It's not like they investigate it so that they can stop people from using bitcoin. They are only investigating it since long before 2017 to prevent money laundering and crimes related to crypto.
132  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: [BOUNTY][ICO] 📜🔗🔆 Grain.io • The Backbone Of Modern Work Agreements 🔆🔗📜 on: June 30, 2018, 11:59:59 PM
@Sylon please delete my spreadsheet nick from the signature campaign, I do not want any token from these clowns.
Do not be hasty there buddy, you should at least dump it immediately if you don't want the grain tokens, you worked for it after all.
All GRAIN tokens will be distributed before July 12th 2018 14:00 CET. At that time, every wallet will contain the correct amount of tokens, including the bonus tokens and tokens earned by referring new token sale participants.
But tokens earned via bounty will be sent before August 16,2018. I do hope the team will reconsider because IMO it is unfair that bounty and token sale participants and referrer's reward will be distributed at a different date with 1 month difference.
133  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [PLEASE HELP US] - BUILDING AN ECOSYSTEM FOR DELIVERY on: June 29, 2018, 06:56:37 PM
We have 3 independent applications which can be linked together to an ecosystem and we would start the ICO for the whole ecosystem.
We received some suggestions for choosing one of the following three platforms:
Ethereum (low enough fees, fast transaction and better security), IOTA (free and instant) and Waves (Incredibly fast transactions - verified within seconds, decentralized exchange built into the wallet, low fees).
Just pick one of the three platforms and you'll be set but if you want to see almost instantaneous confirmation of transactions then you should opt with either IOTA and Waves because they both have faster transaction processing speed than ETH at the moment.
Do you know Hub by Amazon? Are you interested in an ico project similar with Hub by Amazon but have been deployed in an Asian country?
What online shopping sites are available to use with your own version of Hub? People's interest in your project will depend on what online shopping site it will support.
134  Economy / Economics / Re: Facebook lifts crypto advertisement ban amid rumors of coinbase takeover on: June 28, 2018, 10:59:59 PM
As with the coinbase rumours, I don't think that it's likely at all.
I think facebook taking over Coinbase is very likely if they want to expand their business from a social media platform to an exchange/wallet. I also think that them buying Coinbase is better than them creating a crypto of their own.
I do not think this will happen in this year. The interest and usage of crypto currency is not enough to get payments on Facebook with crypto currency.
This can happen within the year IMO. If there are not enough interest and usage of cryptocurrency to get payments on Facebook with cryptocurrency, them buying Coinbase might change public's level of interest to use crypto to settle payments on Facebook.
135  Economy / Speculation / Re: Watch Tone Vays desperately trying to keep the price going down on: June 27, 2018, 01:12:48 PM
Anyhow as long as people are holding or doing dollar cost averaging, i presume market will stay for sometime instead of crashing lower
The problem is that people wouldn't do what you want them to, they do what they want and IMO we can see price crashing lower if they didn't hold.
I would take the money and run tho, I don't think he is going to risk it, he will get the $10k win, but if he really believed in his prediction he would take the doubling bet.
I also think he will get the 10,000$ win not unless he is fool enough to spread another FUD(most likely) or FOMO to make his bet become true.
doug polk officially lost and is now proposing double or nothing at 3 grand.
He sure is pretty confident in his next bet for proposing double or nothing but I wonder how far he will go in order to win? Either way it is very likely that we will see their predictions contradicting each other if Tone Vays accepted the proposal.
136  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Law firm says Tether has enough Dollar reserves to back all USDT in circulation on: June 26, 2018, 09:20:14 PM
I can't quite see how Tether will be allowed to continue considering how heavy regulators are becoming.
I can see them being allowed to continue(although only on one scenario). Considering politicians ATM are corrupt, tether will be allowed to continue given that they can bribe politicians enough to do so. If not, then I think tether is in a dangerous position ATM and they might be allowed to resume operations depending on their future decisions.
137  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH for the win? on: June 25, 2018, 10:02:10 PM
I know that ETH could not win and take over beyond BTC, but BTC is currently falling right now, do you think Ethereum could win incase BTC falls into abyss consecutively all day?
I wouldn't consider the current dumps as bitcoin falling into the abyss because there are far more lower prices than it in the past. In fact, the price range ATM can still be considered a good enough price if one had witnessed market being below sub 1000$.
Just a quick statistics I calculated, Bitcoin and it's investors for last 365 days have got a return of investment of 224% i.e. more than double of what they invested while for the same time for ethereum, it was just 137%. Bitcoin investors are gaining more than ethereum investors.
Comparing bitcoin and ethereum merely by gains alone is not good IMO because it is irrelevant to the whole market capitalization as a whole. What matters is it's use cases in real life and how many services accept it as payment.
138  Economy / Speculation / Re: Could governments manipulate the price like this? on: June 24, 2018, 08:54:04 AM
Governments, however, are likely not doing this because they stand to gain from cryptocurrency.
Governments sure are interested in the technology behind crypto (blockchain tech) but some of them are NOT REALLY INTERESTED INTO BITCOIN AND CRYPTO probably because of decentralization. Nevertheless, I don't see them wasting tax payer's money to do something as stupid as price manipulation. If they are really manipulating bitcoin price behind the scenes, there are only a few countries that I can think of doing this.
139  Economy / Economics / Re: Taxes on Crypto Currencies and Mining! on: June 23, 2018, 11:46:15 PM
Taxation is one of back bone for government but politicians will not sharing that money to the people. Then what is the fucking purpose for the paying the taxation for crypto currencies too bro.
Politicians share money with the people. At the very least, they spend some of the taxpayer's money to finish their projects(a great example of this is road expansions and public facility development) and share the money they collect from us(even if some of it ends up in their pockets). The only purpose for paying tax for cryptocurrencies is for it(and transactions done in crypto) to be considered legal in government's eyes.
140  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hello! newbie here (wallet) on: June 21, 2018, 11:21:36 PM
It is not safe to store your wallets on an exchange(like coinbase) because they can shut down anytime and run with your money. I suggest you use software wallets at least like electrum or a hardware wallet in order to be safe. If you don't want to go through the hassle of setting them up though, any wallet that gives you control over your private key will also be fine so long as it can be imported to another wallet.
