121  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: cash out or let it ride? on: May 02, 2024, 08:53:46 PM
$1,500 to return nearly $100,000, the Milwaukee Bucks are the last leg, would you cash out for just over 50% of the payout or let it ride? Let me know below. I cannot properly hedge this parlay so I can either cash out or let it ride.
You don't need our suggestion IMHO but the majority here is going to take the money already and won't wait for the last ride.

If it means money, you literally have to secure yourself first and even if there's the big discrepancy from what you can cash out now compared to your winnings later if ever the last leg will win, I'd be better take home now and won't wait for the game later.

There's no need to take the risk higher for me, as that 50% is already a good amount, literally.
The feeling of satisfaction is something that would really be an issue on here since not all would really be tending to go home without getting that whole amount of winning. This is where the time which is really that too hard to consider out on how you would really be making out such decision whether you should really be letting it finish or you would really be securing out that 50% of the winning amount. Even myself wouldnt really be having no questions on where getting that early cash out rather than losing it all once that particular game result would be lost.  Yes, it would really be hindering you on doing so because we've known back in our heads that the amount we could get if it would be able to win up will really be doubling the amount.

It all matters about your preference and satisfaction just like i have said earlier. There are ones who would really be risks takers or simply gamblers and there are ones who do want to
play safe and securing out whenever they do have the opportunity.
It's best to play safe. If you're going to take risk, then go back to your main plan on why did you gambled and that is to make some money, correct?

And you've already made a lot for which a lot of people could have been an average salary of a year or two.

You have to go back wherever you have started when things are being forgotten for you to get some knocking reality on what you should do.

123  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Thoughts on Worldcoin? on: May 02, 2024, 10:50:47 AM
I think your better off not going to shitcoins right now. There is no exact guarantee of how much Shitcoin will pump. And when then can leave the market. Then you lose your capital and may get depressed. From this you can choose top altcoins for investment which have reliability and investment will give good profit.
What many are believing when the bull run comes even the shitiest coins will also going to pump and that's why they're tackling with everything that they can.

As long as someone is able to invest to any of it then, they're all free to buy an AI coin or any of these kinds of projects that they prefer that has the potential for them.

We're all not going to skip losing but always accompany your purchase with a DYOR guide.
124  Economy / Speculation / Re: Now is the best time to buy the dip and HODL on: May 01, 2024, 11:22:53 PM
Btc price has dip below 60k, and most investors who may be wondering when best to buy the dip I think now is the time to buy the dip. it may not dip below this anymore. I know it fell to $56k but I urge people to buy more now before it rise again.
The support might be $56k and this is the new one. It's true that everyone should buy on this dip because it didn't even took a day then it's moving closely to $58k.

For some, this move might not be desirable as it's still low from where it had been from the $60k+ lines.

But knowing that it had plunged thousands of dollars too, this is considerably a healthy correction as it pulls back again to recover.
125  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you care about what people say about you gambling? on: May 01, 2024, 09:59:21 PM
It's best to ignore them.

It is not going to bother them whether we gamble or not because that's nothing to them and they owe us nothing with whatever we're spending on it.

People nowadays like to meddle and know everything other people's do but they don't focus on their own welfare. But instead, they like to ask things that are quite funny even it's no longer their boundary.
Dont make yourself get stressed out just because you've been hearing out others comments and those bashes and those curses or whatsoever words that coming out from their mouths and just like on what you have
said that we dont owe them something or they arent the ones who are spending up the money on whatever the things that we've been dealing with not only on just on gambling but also in other aspects in life as well.
They dont have the rights on the things that we are really that doing and its true that it would really be better that we should really be focusing on what we do love to do and dont mind other peoples words.

Gamble for fun and dont make yourself that getting out of those limitations specially when it comes to money. Dont let other people laugh at you just because you have made yourself that getting wrecked because of gambling. This is why you should really be that responsible on the actions that you are making and wont really be tending to mess up your life just because on the things that you've been
excessively dealing with.
There are times that we're in good mood and upon hearing some of those people, they're irritating and even if you don't want to get stressed out by them.

You have to do something for them to stop doing that because it's likely that it's not the first time that they're doing that kind of gossiping of what others are doing and then, having some feedback that's unnecessary and odd and they'll make you hear it out.

Many people have told themselves that they shouldn't listen to what other people tell them, they shouldn't listen to other people's criticisms because other people don't pay their bills. So you shouldn't criticize him. This thought even makes sense, but people also need to take into consideration that criticism means that the people who are criticizing you are paying attention to you, they are paying attention to the things you are doing. So you need to stop and think about why they are criticizing you and where your mistake is. sit down and criticize yourself and then analyze what you are doing with your life and whether you are really correct or not

for example, a person who keeps posting photos of himself playing in a casino every day and then people start commenting on his photos, criticizing that he should moderate his gambling because by continuing on this path he will destroy himself a lot and it could be that the The damage to his life is too great to the point where there is no longer any salvation. So this person who keeps posting photos of casinos every day should stop and sit down and think about why exactly people are criticizing him, is it really ok to keep playing every day?

So that person should go to his relatives and ask them questions about what they really think of his recent behavior, ask his relatives and friends to be honest in their answers and after also listening to criticism from his relatives and friends. stop playing for a while and then see what has really changed in his life and whether all other people will continue to criticize him or whether they will be praising him, by this I mean that we have to know how to listen to people who criticize and not act with anger and arrogance when they criticize us , because criticism often serves to improve ourselves
I don't think that it's criticism, someone who just happen to see you gamble and yet they've got some reactions and feedback that are unnecessary.

They criticize you if they have seen you do something wrong and you're harming other people but no you don't. There are people that just want to get into the lives of others without even thinking to fix their lives first.
126  Economy / Economics / Re: It's better to invest now than to regret it in a hospital bed. on: May 01, 2024, 08:54:18 PM
One thing you can't do after you are no longer productive in making money, is go back to the past to correct all the mistakes you have made. Ignoring financial advice is your biggest mistake and will cause regret in the future when you don't have anything when you need it. If you care about a very good future without financial problems, start investing now. There is no need to determine the amount, as long as you do it consistently over a long time, you will get better facilities in the future.
This is true and if you ask some veterans on what they'd do now that don't live a well life, they'd say to invest as early as you can.

Time is important and we can't go back to the past to correct ones and if there's a moment of correcting our mistakes in the past, the right time is now.

Being financially free also depends on how decided we are and if we're taking advises of other people that have gone through their lives and shared their life lessons on how to avoid being broke in the future.
127  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you care about what people say about you gambling? on: May 01, 2024, 07:52:04 PM
One thing to say with those people that are trying to distract us while we do our own thing, mind their own business.

I don't care a thing they say, am I gambling with their money? am I using their time? No, they don't and that's why I don't care about them and whatever they say upon looking at my activities whether on my laptop or smartphone.

We've got our own lives to deal with and it's too short to be thinking of the welfare of other's activities.
People love to talk about stuff that does not concerns them, just take a look at how people follow the news of their favorite celebrity with more fervor than most religious people I have ever known, so it is natural that whatever we do that is outside of what people consider normal will be subject to their scrutiny.

So having understood that, we need to take a decision about what to do, and personally I agree with your posture, since I do not really have the time or the energy to care about what every other person may think about what I do, so I just ignore them.
It's best to ignore them.

It is not going to bother them whether we gamble or not because that's nothing to them and they owe us nothing with whatever we're spending on it.

129  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC 2030 Assumptions on: April 30, 2024, 07:53:54 PM
That seems to be the next year bear market as per cycle that we'll have. As 2028 will be the next halving then assumingly that the bull run will come on 2029 then typically it's always followed by a bear market next year.

But what's encouraging is that, we'll for sure not going to see anymore the prices that we have right now And as per every cycle that we go through, we always get the all time high on the next level and the wen get new all time lows.
130  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports betting for reality not club affection on: April 30, 2024, 06:47:42 PM
Most times we are caught in between placing our bets on our favourite teams to win and not there present form, this action according to analysis shows that it's one of the reasons some persons don't win a sport bet, no matter how hard they try, a team that's not in form or getting the results shouldn't be on your sports betting slip, because they might continue the poor run of form and hurt your ticket, a friend once adviced me never to put my favourite team on my ticket, unless they are in form, am a Manchester United fan but most times I bet against them as long as my ticket is concerned I don't have a favourite team.
If it is your favorite, you've got that bravery to bet for them. But if you're wise and still a fan of that club that's beloved to you, you'd analyze and check if they're winable or not.

There are types of gamblers that don't care about the odds and news about the club, they're just an avid fan of it and it's embedded to their hearts and they'll bet no matter what the condition is.

While the opposite one, want to be sure where his money is going and making sure that it's going to be profitable and looks at the chances and analysis before placing a bet.
131  Economy / Speculation / Re: When will the real bull run begin? on: April 30, 2024, 04:41:46 PM
just be patient. no need to rush. there's nothing to chase. if you have been investing since 2022, then waiting a few more months is not a problem for you. because the most important thing in bitcoin investment is how patiently you can hold bitcoin in your wallet and wait for the right time to sell and then you will be able to make a profit from it.

but if your patience runs out, you can immediately sell it because nothing is stopping you from selling bitcoin now and you should have made a profit by now.
Those that have got a good entry on 2022, I agree with you that they don't have to be hasty because they've got in at the right time. Even those that have been in lately, there's more reason to them to become patient because of what we're going through now.

With experience and regrets from this market, we all are going to agree and say that if you've been patiently waiting to the market and your actions have been into accumulating of the right cryptos for your portfolio then you'd definitely see the fruits of your hardwork soon.

Since OP has been here for 2 years already and this is going to be his first bull run, he's also likely in profit already but it will be more once we get actually into the bull run.
132  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should the top altcoins now be ok that we are in bull run? on: April 30, 2024, 02:02:18 PM
I am currently 100% in altcoins and been wondering this morning that now the bull run is here, does that mean most altcoins in the top 200 or so should be safe at least now till the next bear market?
It's safer when someone's portfolio has a bigger portion of BTC.

I have been in all of my altcoins for at least 6 months and not had any worrying news with any of them yet and the only altcoin that comes to mind that burned since I started Crypto 2 years ago is Luna and luckily I have never been involved in that one.
If you're up with your portfolio then that's good if you've started during the bear market, you've got more time to accumulate up to this moment and you just have to wait for the results.

When i first started crypto over 2 years ago I was constantly told altcoins are risky and you should only invest in Bitcoin & Ethereum but i have had no problems at all.
That's because the reality, not all altcoins are safe. Some are safe but most of them are risky.

Are altcoins safe now that the bull run is here and real bullish part of the bull run only months away or can altcoins go to zero at any moment even during bull run?
If you're describing safety about being profitable, yes many of them are going to be. But don't you remove that thought that they can be not safe during this cycle.

And going to zero, it's unlikely but having few to zero volume is possible.
133  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: April 30, 2024, 11:38:05 AM
I like this match up, it's a new one for the Nuggets but I still like the Nuggets as they  are the defending champion. Jokic cannot be limited here, he can still score and if doubled, he will easily make passes and that will be hard for the Wolves to stop because they are not playing a small ball, the two bigs will be not too fast to rotate. We will see what will happen in game 1 but if I will have to bet on the series, I'll take Nuggets (-1.5) to win the series.
Jokic is very flexible, ball handler, sees more of his teammates and looks on who's free from the outside and inside and more of a playmaker. But if he needs to attack, he'd do it.

But I don't want to think that the Timberwolves can't do anything there, they're also strong and we've seen how they've swept the Suns that has notable players as well offensively.

I like to see how both of these teams with their defenses since they're all good in offense and they've got their scoring machines.
134  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: April 29, 2024, 10:39:09 PM
I read that Jamal Murray may not play for game 5 due to calf strain so how do you see this? Will it be 3-2? Calf strain is also a nasty injury so I think he will continue to struggle even if he forces himself to play. This is probably a good news for the bettors and fans of Lakers to recoup previous losses as they are still the underdog @3.1
Oh man.

I've read that as well but there's no confirmation yet but it seems that a lot of articles saying that he won't be able to play for game 5.

I don't know if the Nuggets will survive but I guess that they can but it is an advantage for the Lakers if ever Jamal is out to play. Because with most of the headlines, they're all saying that it's questionable that he can play but not yet confirmed.
135  Economy / Economics / Re: How safe is it to keep your money and gold underground? on: April 29, 2024, 08:50:40 PM
Now I want to ask everyone:
Have any of you ever been aware of this technique before?
I knew this strategy because I used to see it on the news and the movies.

And do you think we can keep our savings and wealth underground by adopting this strategy and considering it the safest?
And that being said, how safe do you think it is? At this time?
I don't think it is safe nowadays. I'm not scientist or good in science but there's something with possibility that materials that can corrode the soil and whatever is in it.

It's safer to keep your money wherever you are comfortable with or with the vaults or safes but not underground on the soil. And you don't have to go that far, you're in the Bitcoin forum, convert that fiat into BTC.  Wink
136  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: An interesting story and experience of a gambler on: April 29, 2024, 07:20:54 PM
Regret always comes too late and anyone will regret it after being faced with the problem. Don't gamble using borrowed money because it will be much riskier than using your own money, so be careful when you want to gamble at any casino.
That's the problem that's hard to remove when you become addicted in gambling, if you're the type that keeps on moving forward and you just can't let yourself stop when you have nothing.

So, you resort to the choice of borrowing money just so that you can gamble and lose more.

And to the guy involved in the story that OP shared, he got some things, he got money before and that's a personal attitude towards holding money. One has to practice how to be good in managing it when you've got it on your hands.
137  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you cashout or wait for the game to conclude? on: April 29, 2024, 12:59:41 PM
36,000,000 naira is a huge amount to risk, just by using the cashout option.
It's the potential win not the amount that shall be risked.

For me to be honest, I'd choose to take that out if ever I feel happy with the win but considering that it's equivalent to around $9500 then that's already a big amount, right?

I won't finish the last game and I'd be happy to take that money. Yes, I am a gambler but I'd prefer to take that money safely because it's not that a good day everyday.

If I am not very sure about the results of the last game, I would cash out. Very rare that you will finish on the positive side. This is the usual dilemma of most gamblers, they would want to finish up until the last one will give them the bad result. I believe, you should be happy for what the good opportunity presents to you rather than aim more.
Yeah, that's what exactly why someone should just be happy with that amount in naira. In conversion to dollars, that's already $9500 as I've computed it.

I will take home with that money and will make myself some good home cooked meals using that money.

Those that are not happy with that amount, they'd go for the big moment of their lives that either they'll remember it in their lifetimes because they win or they are devastated and did a wrong decision. So, you choose your worry.
138  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you increasing your bitcoin investments because of today halving ? on: April 29, 2024, 08:30:21 AM
First and foremost, even without halving, I’m already determined to increase my hodlings because I believe of bitcoin’s high potentials to grow in the future.
Me too.

I've got plans to buy as well but we can't deny that the halving and the cycle really is encouraging for each of us to buy as much as we can.
Well, this is the most important thing. If we believe that this technology will have a very high price in the future, then before or after the halving, we need to collect it continuously. I also believe that the price of bitcoin will be very high in the future, especially after the halving.
It will be and it's here to stay as long as we live and that's why even with so much innovation out there, a store of value will remain as a store of value.

But this is only for Bitcoin and probably for a few kind of altcoins. Other than that, we don't know if they're going to stay just as Bitcoin because no doubt that it is already well established and not going to be gone too soon.

If I had focused on investing in bitcoin, I would still buy it regularly.
You should.

This halving is just a bonus. But even without it, bitcoin alone has already proven its usefulness and profitability for all those years, which made me believe to stick to it no matter what. Although I also want to diversify at some point, but I’ll always keep bitcoin having the highest allocation compared to other assets or investments.
A bonus indeed but it's not a bonus for me but it's actually the main reason why we're seeing a push. However, if it's about seeing good price movement, no doubt it's more than a bonus.
140  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is your advised for being a trader? on: April 28, 2024, 11:53:03 PM
Investment is far more different from trading. It's longer term it's less riskier that you can only lose money if you sell your coin in a negative gain out of fear. Other than that, time is your ally in investing and as much as your coin have great future then what you just need is patience. However in trading, you are battling in the intraday fluctuations in price. It is riskier and with the available leverage you can make more money in a matter of seconds.
Those that are no good in trading, they can always show their interest into investing and this is way safer than getting all of the risks in daily trends of the market. Though, there's also risk in investing but you can bear with that and learn from it later on as if you've taken no risk at all because it's more chill than the usual.

That's why if you just want to learn how price moves, start trading because price is fractals. It is faster so you can learn faster because what happens in lower time frame also happens in higher time frame. In investing there will be less learning due to time, yet your money can sit in for a longer period of time.
At the same time, for the aspiring traders that don't want to take risk as they learn trade. They can test out with the features of demo trading offered by exchanges.
