121  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LTC][Pool][PPLNS] - ltc.kattare.com - burnside's Litecoin Mining Pool on: April 04, 2013, 06:46:10 AM
and now whole site is down. uh oh.

Are we being ddosd? Shares are still contributing.

Still seems to be accepting shares fine.

Also am I allowed to have 2 computers mining on the same "username.1" account??

Yep.

Thank you for the help! I'm sure the website will be up soon enough.

Then I withdraw. lol

lol.  Wink

It has been a long day for the pool.  Couple of issues.

The first is that one out of the three pushpools died.

Then the once-a-minute cron that keeps up some of the hashrate and share info crapped out.  (it's actually hanging connecting to litecoind because litecoind is responding too slowly.)

Then the tunnel daemon for the web service has died a couple of times.

Too much load for this poor server setup.  I have a new box installed and ready to go, I just have to spend a day or so moving all the services over to it.  Might end up being this weekend unfortunately.  My day job is going to be 10-12 hour days the next couple of days.

Cheers.

Hear you on the stressful day job... Thanks for running the site, Burnside!

123  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Litefaucet.com dispensing 0.2 LTC! [IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT] on: April 04, 2013, 04:57:32 AM
Hi everybody,

I run www.litefaucet.com. I wanted to take a quick moment to thank everyone for the support through our first week and explain how we've been operating through the huge boom!

Please remember that we are only a few weeks old! We are usually operating with just three advertisers!

It is the aim of Litefaucet to dispense larger payments in the hope of generating a large amount of viral traffic. We are not just another dispenser of a small amount of pocket change. The idea is for you to engage with the websites we advertise and take them seriously. That's why we pay so much!

For advertisers, we offer two types of advertising:
-Low cost/low visibility html link
-Higher cost/greater visibility clickthrough banner ads

Of course the cost is not a fee to our website, it goes right to the faucet's payments. You can send us 5 LTC for an HTML link and that will last a week or two, because we will divide it into small increments like 0.005 per visit.

For a high visibility add you could send 10-15 LTC to be dispersed at .025 increments per visitor or higher.

Here are our unique visitor stats through April 14th:

Please let me know if there are any questions. I am actively working on dispensing and attracting more advertisers to the site, but I am only human. Further, I am attempting to graduate college early to work on this full time.

Thank you!!!

BTCE still has 0 confirmations on the .1 BTC you sent. Maybe 12 hours from now it will be complete and I will refund to you. Then you have to send .5 to max.

Sorry for the hold up Smiley Blame BTC's shit confirmation system hehe. If there is a problem I will email BTCE support
129  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litefaucet.com is dispensing 0.2 LTC per day!! on: April 03, 2013, 11:36:38 AM
Litefaucet payments lowered to 0.05 due to insane chicken boom haha.

Thanks to our over 2000 unique visitors who came to the site this week!

We are working on two more advertisers to fund the faucet right now.

If you know any businesses that are considering accepting crypto, please convince them to do so. I will offer free advertising for those businesses who convert!

Still waiting on this confirmation. I will likely go to sleep soon. When I wake up, if it has confirmed, I will send out the appropriate payment.

I will also check to see if either one of you is online before I pay.

The first 1000 BTE ever sold for physical goods has now changed hands for .1 BTC!

If the price of bitcoin stays above $119.80 USD, I will have made a profit on this speculative exchange Cheesy

.11 has confirmed at BTCE, now waiting on the 0.1 to confirm Smiley
I will send .1 BTC to Byte-Gox's BTC address and he will send you .5 BTC.
Once the .1 BTC confirms I will send you both 500 BTE, or to make it even, I could send maxmint all 1000 to divide. Let me know while we wait Cheesy

You can just send 500 BTE directly to both of us, I'm fine with that.

Just waiting on BTCE confirm now Smiley

Selling 1k BTE... Offers...?

0.01 BTC

I've already seen 1k go for 0.1 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=164749.0
And have also seen 1k go for a pizza valued at ~$10 USD

I will hold out for better offers,  but thank you anyway...

$11.98 mind you!

hehe

That works for me  Smiley

BTC 14yXBepjJgQY639UY8Fv92X5v3NULDq7bZ

Great, half a pizza for both of us Smiley
mycketbra, if it's good for you too, here's my refund BTC 151NMR7VbhS8E6D39vp92Y7UsKeGNkjGAo (please keep the extra 0.01)
My BTE: 8FQpT6qp18m1CYCEvFwqc6h89wTprCiYTT

You could send 0.1 BTC to one of us and we'll split it up.

Ok! I will surely do this. As soon as one payment confirms, I will send back .1 btc (the .01 you sent will likely go to BTCE in fees) to whichever address you BOTH feel comfortable with.

Then I will send 500 BTE to both of your 8bit addresses hehe.

You can send the refund to Byte-Gox, seems like a trustworthy guy Smiley
Byte-Gox, could you then send 0.05 to this address: 151NMR7VbhS8E6D39vp92Y7UsKeGNkjGAo

That is precisely when you realize that 0.1 BTC / 1000 bytecoins is undervalued, and sell for higher.

Especially if they are the the very first bytecoins ever exchanged for physical goods!!!
I'll take them for 0.11 BTC.

Ok now your .11 BTC came through. How would you two like to resolve this matter?

These were sent to a BTC-E deposit wallet, so I will have to wait until they are confirmed to dispense back, if needed.

I want to keep this as transparent as possible, so I will post screen shot

Byte-Gox's 0.1 BTC came through, so once it is confirmed I will be sending him the 1000 BTE!

Sorry for any confusion out there Sad
