121  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ruh Roh, bitcoin on the radar of the IMF? on: June 05, 2013, 06:05:33 PM
They can buy mining hardware  equipment for unlimited amount of funds and mine the rest of the coins to corner / control the market

They would need clearance and no committee would agree to wasting that much money.
The US can print as much as it wants so "wasting" is impossible.
I suppose the IMF could benefit from US money printing
The FED is currently printing 85 billion a month (quantitative easing)
Well,
If this is true
From the mouth of (at the time) FED chairman Alan Greenspan:

2) Even though everyone complains about taxes, the majority agrees, because they want public streets, schools, healthcare...

2% yearly inflation (seigneuriage)  is considered normal. Inflation is a tax (It lowers your purchasing power and devalues your savings).
Inflation is created by a central bank printing a little bit more money than it should.
This excessive money should be used for public streets, schools, healthcare but apparently it is not.
So where is this money going?
Hint: Banks are getting larger, The gap between the wealthy and the poor is getting larger.

How big was the bribe???
Good question actually...
If I understand things correctly:
New alt-coins are "pre-mined" before being introduced onto a trading platform
where they ll get dumped once an appropriate price increase is achieved?
A classic "pump&dump" scenario
125  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 110K premined NVC is successfully destroyed ! on: May 11, 2013, 05:53:50 AM
please add BSPMPD-Coin (bull sht pre mined pump&dump-coin)
126  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Do you consider OKpay to be trustworthy? Why or why not? on: May 06, 2013, 09:39:04 PM
I've been moving six figures around okpay for months without issue. They're picky when it comes to verification but. Once you've been verified things seem smooth enough.

Please do note that these guys are semi-located in Cyprus.

Yes I read they were affected by the confiscation/capital controls

https://www.okpay.com/en/company/news/cyprus-bailout-impact.html

Also, I dont mind them being picky. I do mind being totally ignored though.
I ll skip this site

Hi
On your site you recommend the Eee PC from Asus
"If you are holding thousands of dollars worth of Bitcoins, it could be worth purchasing a low-end netbook just for this purpose! Something like the Eee PC from Asus costs between $200 and $300 "
"Anything with 256 MB of RAM will work."
https://bitcoinarmory.com/?s=asus

This asus mini pc only has 1 GB  RAM
Yet, at the same time, 4G of Ram is recommended according to this thread.
I m a little confused
Thanks
he says in the instructions the asus is for the offline wallet which requires far less RAM. the online wallet requires 4 RAM. er...maybe I should let the master speak  Tongue
Makes sense.

Recently read that transfering Bitcoins from mtgox takes DAYS (unless you pay some extra).
This is ridiculous

First I've heard of that.

Screenshot:

SO what exactly is this about please? Why would this take DAYS?

Hi
Just wanted to say I m disappointed with OKpay.
They advised me to reupload different documents to get my account validated. No problem. I did
Weeks passed and I received no replies to my support tickets.
So I removed my docs and gave up.

Idem, toujours mon dernier virement qui traine. (413794)

137  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Android phone (for authenticator) on: April 25, 2013, 01:29:06 AM
Hi
I have an android mobile phone (Samsung).
I recently started using google authenticator on it to secure my BTC accounts.
I d like to change my phone now.
Can my current phone's entire content (all softwares like google authenticator, barcode scanners including scanned details) be transfered to a new phone with some backup software? Or do these need to be reinstalled on the new phone?
Any help would be appreciated
Regards
138  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BTC-E account hacked!!! on: April 20, 2013, 02:05:44 AM
I do not think so
Yes this is a flaw imo
Other serious sites (like MtGox)  have google authenticator mobile phone protection

140  Local / Échanges / Re: Bitcoin-Central, discussion, questions-réponses on: April 19, 2013, 06:52:47 PM
Merci pour les infos sur Gauthenticator.
Serait il possible de permettre de faire des virements en euros vers Skrill et OKpay?
