121  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 2.1T 900W, Innosilicon Blake256 D9 DecredMaster/ 3.83T 1380W, S11 SiaMaster on: May 22, 2018, 03:21:46 AM
I would like to warn all of you out there regarding the S11 miner. I bought a batch recently and half of them could only get about 3.2T Hashrate even when overclocked. Advertised is 3.83T at factory settings.

I asked support and they said it's the mining pool problem, there's nothing wrong with their miners. I have tried all the mining pools out there and all of them were reporting only 3.2T.

I have upgraded to the latest 11 May firmware and the issue remains. They want me to ship back the miners at my own cost to be replaced but I won't be doing that. The loss in income and shipping fees will not be worth it. So beware if you want to purchase anything from Innosilicon again. The support sucks to the core.

I can provide evidence but the conversations are in Chinese. Anyone who wants evidence of the conversation can PM me.

On miner status at bottom of page what is the hashrate of each of the 3 boards?
122  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain to release FPGA miners soon on: May 21, 2018, 08:57:38 PM
Selling FPGA mining would have to be a last resort for bitmain. They make more money selling asics because they cant be re-programmed. Imagine if bitmain release an FPGA in mass quantities and its cracked by programmers , allowing them to turn the miner into almost any algo, limited to the specs of course. That would be horrendous to bitmains bottom line. Its like a x10 on steroids. I think theyd just use them themselves and keep using FPGAs only in controllers. Theyd make more money just releasing a new x3 every 6 months.
123  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Dwarf FPGA – the anti-ASIC on: May 21, 2018, 08:47:19 PM
Come on guys... give the OP the benefit of doubt until proven otherwise.  If the original quoted pricing holds, what's $350 in the big scheme of things?  I wasted more than that by dropping a GPU that no longer works... LOL!

When they do go on sale, I'd bet someone here is willing to gamble $350 on a few of them!

That's a bad plan but you're welcome to go forwards with it and you can also let us know how it worked out for you  Grin

If things can be easily tweaked to avoid possible scams why take the risk?

This isn't Vegas and the roulette table, it's science  Cheesy

Thats how scams work, the ones that dont see 350 as a big loss if they are scammed are the ones the scammer depends on. It would be nieve to think bitmain wont enter this FPGA mining scene after the x3 debacle. They already use them for other things.

What kinda PSU do you use With the D9? Can I use a 1200w Bitmain psu?

Yep

Agreed, good value.
126  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: WHY NEWBIES KEEP ASKING THE SAME QUESTION " ITS TO LATE TO START MINING ? on: May 21, 2018, 06:26:26 AM
been mining for about a year, but will have to say this is the absolute worst time to start mining in my opinion.

asics are attacking all algos, fpga is on the horizon, and new gpus are scheduled to be released by eoy. Even gpu's are still slightly overpriced. There's absolutely no reason to start a GPU mining farm.

Even starting an ASIC farm is questionable and FPGA are so unproven at this point, the risk is extremely high.

Don't forget to add to that equation = Ethereum is starting to transition from POW to POS.

Basically when POS hits, the profit of all other mineable coins will severely decrease. This has been explained far too many times already. People are dumping GPUs while they can. People who don't do enough research are still buying them. lol.

Equilhash asics will push nvidia cards onto other algos, swamping them , reducing profits for everyone. FPGA on the horizon, this is the worst time to build a rig.
127  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: A3/D3 Voltage modification file for Antminer A3 and D3 - free on: May 21, 2018, 06:17:14 AM
If you can release a new a3 firmware with these voltage settings id happily pay 1.5% dev fees.
128  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain Launches the New Antminer B3 Miner on: May 21, 2018, 03:48:09 AM
Hi guys, so far my B3 can only mining less than 18 BTM Per day.
It's definately not match with what bitmain sales told us before.
Even the 1050 ti GPU miner has the same hash rate, but the GPU miner price is much lower than B3.
These information was unrevealed during the sales.
B3 customers in China complain about this issue and try to negotiate with the management of bitmain to see if we can have an additional refund.
Let's fight together,  submit your complaints at bitmain website, thanks

Hold your btm, dont sell it cheap, ROI more likely if you hold and sell after pump.

Where did you hear this from?

I just noticed Inno is releasing a 3rd batch this week.... I see that they like to fuck their customers by flooding the market so no one makes any money. The 3rd batch they want $6800 that doesn't include shipping or power supply.... When Halongs 2nd batch and Inno's 3rd batch come online next week expect all miners to make $30-$40 a day. These retards should wait a month before releasing more miners otherwise no one will be able to recoup their initial investment. For how much they are charging now with the difficulty increase it would make more sense to just buy the coins and start putting them into POS.

Small price cut at 6300 and 3200 , but if you pay in crypto its ~6700- 3400. Not enough of a discount,  one benefit is new buyers will hold off as price is still too high , less buyers = less hash rate. ROI very iffy on these. Very few seem to have pool hash rates that match the miner interface hashrates. Obelisks just around the corner and other manufacturers trying to release their 16nm decreds soon, then halong batch due end of this month now another inno batch. Its not looking good.
131  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain launches the Z9 Equihash miner on: May 18, 2018, 04:19:45 AM
First batch appears to now be sold out.

Finally, its a good tactic, if someone wanted to buy one but was holding off then waiting over a month for the next batch for a minor discount isnt worth it, so they buy the first batch.
132  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ASICs mining game on: May 14, 2018, 09:38:19 AM
Great article by David Vorvick. Nothing but admiration to him and the Sia team for doing an in-depth analysis.

Something that struck me from article is as follows:

Quote from: David Vorvick
I think there are a lot of people out there who do not realize that flexible ASICs are possible...

It may be sufficient sometimes, but just as algorithms can attempt to be ASIC resistant, ASICs can attempt to be hardfork resistant, especially when the changes are more minor.

As a miner, this frightens me because when this era of "flexible ASICs" arrive, GPU miners will definitely be obsolete. Add this to the threat of Ethereum going POS, it seems like the odds are stacked against us regular home-based miners. This might be a signal that now is a good time to liquidate mining rig assets and just directly invest in coins.

Flexible asics wont have the performance of a normal asic and depending on that performance it might not be worth it.
133  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Bitcointalk Forum Member - SellingGiftcards SCAMMER Selling]Bitmain Coupons [$22 on: May 10, 2018, 10:59:13 AM
Sorry to hear that you got scammed, OP.

But this was a known scammer with a negative reputation from the beginning. A simple check of his reputation would have revealed exactly that. The thread was also locked and self moderated to prevent anyone from commenting negatively, another obvious sign that this is a scammer. Never deal with gift card sellers, without reputation, period. Let alone people who lock and self moderate their sales threads.

Not to mention that all of his "vouches" are delivered through his alts, who are conveniently, also tagged for scamming.

Next time, please do be more careful. This was very obviously a scam. The chances of you retrieving the funds are tiny.

BTW, please rearrange/edit your post using this format:

Im glad it wasnt much i lost, its the first time i bought  off a forum ad, i dont understand how their allowed to post an ad when they are known scammers. I saw the negative trust but didnt click it to read details. If i had i wouldnt have proceded. Ive seen high up members with negative trust. Oh well, lesson learnt. The scammer has another -8 trust, cause of me, so it wasnt for nothing. Hey scammer, get a real job, your pathetic.

135  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain launches the Z9 Equihash miner on: May 05, 2018, 03:29:53 AM
And this surprises none as everyone pretty much suspected and called it that Equihash was next.  Would guess that the next most profitable algo after Equihash is next on the block and probably already being mined by Bitmain.

Bet its NeoScrypt or Lyra
136  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: My Research on Bitmain Antminer Z9 EQUIHASH ASIC Miner - Zcash and Zencash Fork? on: May 05, 2018, 01:30:24 AM
More companies seems to make things worse. More choice yes, but a lot more hashrate and each company has to guess how many units each other one is making, so any estimate they make for customer profits and ROI are unreliable.

138  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain Launches the New Antminer B3 Miner on: May 02, 2018, 10:56:50 PM
So Batch 1 hasn't been shipped yet but Batch 2 is on sale for $865 less than what B1 people paid 7 days ago, best way to screw early adopters.

$865???

Yep and chinese buys are apparently getting ~600 refund cause their first batch customers arent happy. This information is not confirmed but if its true the international first batch buyers should open new tickets to complain too. They did refunds on the x3 so they can do it.

Bitmain is officially issuing 4000RMB (628USD) to first batch B3 buyers in China. This is apparently due to many angry customers complaining with the second batch of B3 releasing 1 day after the first batch and at a much lower price.

I have attached a screen shot of their official reply in Chinese for China customer as well as the Google translate version.

So how about all the International buyer? We should be entitled to the refund also. Guy's let's get our money back!

Warning ,
I hope you're right but this isn't a screenshot, it might be a true copy and paste, but hard to validate.  And to my knowledge Bitmain hasn't issued refunds before , only coupons ... and I wouldn't trust this email address/WeChat with this info...

My course of action will be logging into my Bitmain account and submitting a ticket ... I hope it's true, but people need to exercise caution with the info they are asking for above...

Bitmain  has offered refunds before, on the x3 when they changed it from 12k to 3k.
140  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain Launches the New Antminer B3 Miner on: May 01, 2018, 06:07:32 AM
Bytom dev in Discord estimated earnings to be about $44 a day assuming 5k B3s.  So we can hopefully expect double that.

However, this doesn't take into account GPUs/CPUs.

44 dollars a day?. 2nd batch will not come so fast yes? Why would u expect double that

Cause theres 2500 not 5k miners in first batch. It would be disappointing if gpu s found this decently profitable, asics are suppose to dominate, if they dont then their too weak.
