121  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do Bitcoins need something REAL to back them? on: April 19, 2013, 12:01:25 AM
It seems like they would but then again a lot of fiat really doesn't have much backing it when you get down to it .
122  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How fast will the bitcoin mining difficulty increase? on: April 18, 2013, 11:51:57 PM
Yes it seems that GPU mining won't be worth it before long if enough people get ASICs.  It will truly be the end of an era.

Today it's been going up, over 100$ now on mtgox.
It depends, earning money on exchange might be good.

Wait for price to buy at around 50$, then wait for the huge gains and sell again Smiley

yes it is going up fast. I hope it continues.

Bitstamp is buggy but I like it.

It will do both of course, but I think it will make another run up to 120 or 130 and then go down over the next few months.  However if there is another high profile currency crisis in the news, it could shoot back up again.  I wish I would have bought more when it was down to $50.

130  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Brand new to bitcoin mining, need help on: April 17, 2011, 12:50:22 PM
I just started this last night, my friend walked me through the process, I was using GUIminer with a deepbit.net account(remember I'm completely in the dark about this, so please excuse any incorrect terms/info) but I did not know how to shut it down correctly, I asked the /G/ board on 4chan, they said if I just stop mining it would be fine, but when I relaunched it, it said I had no bitcoins, even though I earned 640 shares during the night, did I do something wrong? I'm very confused/frustrated because I can't find anything online about similar problems.
