1203  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Spreadcoin Scam alert!!! on: February 05, 2015, 11:18:41 PM
Bogus.  As far as anyone knows that 80% is mrfarm and his buddies mining on a private pool.

I find the claim of "Thousands of smaller miners" to be ridiculous.  There isn't thousands of smaller miners solo mining spreadcoin.

The thousands of miners claim is clearly false, it's a few hundred at best but as far as decentralization goes check the block explorer for yourself: https://chainz.cryptoid.info/spr/

Some of them controls more than 1 wallet ,like airball has 5 wallets in total of 90K+ spr last month.

So he owns 5% of all the coins. Every successful coin started with bagholders.
And the dev owns 15%+ of all the coins by instamining.

Because you saw him instamining it I guess. Why would you bother with accusations when you can't prove them?

While some of the evidence is circumstantial, you must admit, it is pretty damning.

- Mr. DRKclone easymined over 80k during the first month. (Too bad he didn't lose SPR's original code instead. Roll Eyes Tongue )

- 400 66 coin SPR blocks were flashmined during the first 65 minutes after launch and the difficulty barely budged. If this was a minting/difficulty exploit, there are likely other flashmines hidden thoughout the blockchain.

Btw, did you see him lose his wallet.dat ?

Was he using his hard drive as a door stop ?

Did the dog eat it ?

Was it used as ass wipe ?

Did he enable TRIM on his hard drive so he could test if it actually worked ? eg. make deleted data unrecoverable.

I'm thinking of buying the optimized miner, making it public, and relaunching this coin with the miner available for everyone at launch.

The first order of business is making sure that it is solo only.  And as far as I am concerned that should have been priority number one before myfarm got here and pushed his ponzinodes on everyone.  I believe that a solo only coin is a winner.  Something that anyone can mine and everyone has an equal chance to get coins.  That was what I thought this coin was but then that changed and it got hijacked and turned into just another pump and dump by mrfarm after he bought up a huge percentage of available spreadcoin and then got the optimized miner for him and his buddies.  His obvious pump and dump scheme was the last straw.

Anyone that wants to get involved and contribute let me know.  We can get together on skype or pm me and work out details.  The original concept of this coin was great.  Unfortunately that greatness got overtaken by greed.

Lets make a real cryptocurrency for everyone where everyone is equal.  Well at least as equal as can be.  Nothing is ever going to be perfect but we can try.

Let me know.

Thanks

Virtual Coin is still the best, at least no BS attached.
If you really think that, then go take a look at the block explorer and tell me that some of the first blocks haven't been spent.
These blocks have a 1000+ coin reward and they HAVE been spent.

http://virtualcoin.info/block/00000dc5c29a3730a8aaa9d64585bc4a420ed63f37c3ed4f7bd22d749d34e838

Click on the address it went to to see if the coins have been spent.
So 5 out of the first 10 blocks have been spent. Almost 13 000 coins.

Now you better not delete this post.

SPR is just as much of a copy n pasta job as VC. Yet you and your scam bustin Findcoin chums are willing to look the other way. wtf Huh

what happen transaction are frezen and there is no more miner

It will remain unconfirmed until a block is found. Point a gpu or cpu at it.. it shouldn't take too long..

Are we at $12 yet?

At $12 per, the 231 second long, 131,000 VC /100 block flashmine would be worth $1,572,000. Shocked

Looking at these logos, it seems 1st coin & 3rd coin look more same. Does that mean Bitcoin = IFC ?

I am like many others users here associate with VC from almost launch. Stop finding detects & instead help VC grow, may be one day it will be traded in real world similar to bitcoin.

The official BTC logo looks nothing like those posted here. lol

Just as was the case with SPR, the difficulty remained extremely low when it should have skyrocketed.

And looky here.. your logo looks very much like the mudderfuddin craptsy scamcoin, IFC. They are the same size, use similar unimaginative designs and easy/lazyass layering/lighting effects.

I almost fell under the "b" catagory when he and his professional logo designer/sock tried giving me "a freebee". eg. Vegancoin. He then asked  for 2 BTC as payment for the logo (see my profile pic), then settled for a VEG bounty if/when the coin was launched. lmao

Whats up with the high orphan rate ?

4 of 7 went POOF.. 3 of the 4 orphans vanished right after the client lost, then regained it's lone connection. Its as if who ever I was connected to decided not to accept my blocks.

I managed to copy the txids and addys from the last 2 :

You may want to try:
FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO UPGRADE (FOR ALL USERS):

1) backup your wallet.dat file
2) close virtualcoin client
3) delete "virtualcoin" folder in Roaming folder.
4) delete all old exe files on virtualcoins from your PC.
5) Download virtualcoin wallet exe file again.
6) create shortcut on your desktop for the new virtualcoin exe file
7) type in "advance firewall..." from start in Windows Vista/7
8 ) Click on "Inbound rules"
9) Delete ALL entries with vcoin, virtualcoin etc. (their may be multiple of them)
10) Right click VirtualCoin shortcut "Properties -> Target "
11) change "...\virtualcoin12-0-1.exe" to "\virtualcoin12-0-1.exe -port=2095"
12.1) If possible (power cycle your home modem & wireless router, it clears UPNP & helps with connection)
12.2) Launch VirtualCoin shortcut
13) Firewall prompt check both boxes
14) Go to Help -> Debug Window
15) Wait for Current # of blocks to reach 100,000 (as of this writing) or higher.
16) Close Windows VirtualCoin client.
17) copy back your backup wallet.dat file to virtualcoin folder (overwrite if prompted)
18) Copy virtualcoin.conf file that is included with the download release to your virtualcoin folder.
19) For added security (optional) edit virtualcoin.conf file & change default password
20) Launch VirtualCoin shortcut [YOU ARE ALL DONE]

It is important if your client is able to  listen on default port (port forwarding enabled on your home router for 2095 TCP/UDP), that will rule out any possibility of future orphaned blocks.

There seem to be no issues with the blockchain, so it may have been the on/off/bad connection that was causing them.

Troll Challenge: start an open registration SPR pool so we can all see how long it takes one person to sweep all the mined coins and run off. Smiley

Trolls, don't you think the major pools would have done so by now if it were feasible?

I'm sure this won't make any difference, some folks only read what they want to.

Do we have a pool? Yes.
It's merely a pool server we setup to solo mine to nothing more, we just so happened to let a couple of other small hashrate users in to help out a bit. Is it a risk? Of course it is.

Mr. Spread has done quite a good job at keeping this coin a solo mineable, that doesn't mean that it will always be that way,  there a lot of smart folks around here and if there is enough $ involved then one should expect that there will be others trying to get in on the action in some form or another.

Hippie sometimes I wonder how smart you would think you sounded if you didn't have wikipedia to post definitions from? Why don't you just quit posting wikipedia links to words or phrases because everyone here I'm pretty sure knows how to use google too buddy Wink Also how is that explanation on me being an accessory to fraud working out for you? (Really sorry everyone for feeding this time but I just had too, That pig looks HUNGRY!) lol Cheers

When people continually fail to properly acknowledge, understand and/or respond to my simple questions and observations, I feel it becomes necessary sometimes to use links, screenies and the occasional meme.

Quick visual reminder of Spread's pool-free solo mining - this is a thing of beauty:

For contrast, here is Darkcoin:

I don't understand how you can claim Spreadcoin to be pool free!  We know there are some pools running.  And if it turns out to be beneficial, you can bet your ass there will be more to come in the future!

This has been addressed many times. You can't stop a bunch of friends who trust each other from collaborating, but by requiring that each pool member has to trust every other pool member, you can ensure that pools remain small efforts between well trusted friends. It just doesn't scale to anywhere near the level of centralised horror that plagues most PoW coins.

Spread's block structure is working exactly as intended.  Smiley

LOL

Finally, a shill admits that pools exist.
