1201  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Is Better Than Digital Gold on: October 10, 2023, 12:55:24 PM
Government's of the the world have their national reserve in gold not in bitcoin and this delivers an explicit message that the trust gold have earned over the centuries bitcoin do not come close.

Both are valuable assets and have their advantageous features and if I can afford having gold and bitcoin as assets as part of diversified investments I will not hesitate in applying that. Better to take advantage offered from the assets rather than dwelling on their comparison.

I am a bitcoin maximalist but if am to be honest  I can't say with all certainty that bitcoin will still be here in the next 100 years (not until it gets to that time) but not for gold and that's what makes the comparison not worth it.

1203  Economy / Economics / Re: No petrol/diesel car sales by 2035/ Reality or dream? on: October 09, 2023, 07:52:03 PM
Many governments are moving to push hard to reduce sales of diesel and petrol cars, the European Parliament has officially approved a law banning the sale of new petrol and diesel cars in the EU from 2035

Quote
The landmark law will require carmakers to cut down CO2 emissions by 100 percent.
The 100 percent cut in CO2 emissions from new cars sold would make it impossible to sell petrol or diesel-powered cars in the 27-country bloc. The law that comes into effect in phases that will require a 55 percent cut in CO2 emissions for new cars starting 2030, which is a much higher target in comparison to the current 37.5 percent.

Source ---> https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/auto/electric-cars/no-petrol/diesel-car-sales-by-2035-european-parliament-approves-ban/articleshow/97939363.cms

Some reports indicate that the costs of running an electric car are actually lower than the costs of running a car with an internal combustion engine.
So, will this goal be achieved by the year 2035? Will the cars be more efficient and at a good price compared to current prices, or is it a policy that may take decades?

In my country, our government is encouraging citizens to switch to electric vehicles, but what I'm surprised about is that the infrastructure is still inadequate, so the drive to use electric vehicles is stagnating.
Just imagine, to charge the car battery you have to wait several hours, what if you are in rush hour, regarding whether in 2035 oil vehicles will no longer be available, I am also not so sure, as long as the infrastructure is not adequate then it will be impossible for electric vehicles to succeed in displacing oil vehicles (in terms of sales and also citizen interest) in 2035.

There are pros and cons to using electric vehicles. We can not justify them only by seeing the cons. The whole world is facing problems because of carbon emission. It is time to rethink the use of fossil fuels and shift to an alternative source like renewable energy. So this can be the foothold for it and if the adoption increases on a global scale then those cons will be resolved easily.
There's immensely much to be done to achieve this feat globally because from the whole debate the scope is  Europe and some other Western countries but achieving the complete elimination of combustion engine vehicles by 2035 in this places is something that will take more than a decade. The 2035 time frame that's put in focus could be viewed as an experimental phase.

When we take a look at the pros of using EV cars we should likewise consider that it will be weighing on the economies of those countries that heavily depends on petrol and diesel for their sustainability as a source of national income and in countries like that I doubt if they will encourage the complete elimination of combustion engine cars.  And that's why I started by saying that there's immensely much to be done.

1204  Economy / Economics / Re: The economics of war. How does this affect us all especially us in crypto? on: October 09, 2023, 05:46:42 PM

I see a huge shift in the military industrial complex's ability to earn profits. Due to modern tech ie Drones and the like.

This mean a huge shift in making money with military gear is going to occur over the next 5-10 years.

Is this new conflict going to be yet one more shift in weaponry.
Sometime ago I made a thread on War who benefits and how, just trying to understand what has been the benefits of these war in Ukraine and Russia both for the inside and the outside world; and now on the intense is Isreal and Palestine. And now @philipma1957 your op has given me a clear insight to that.

With the constant development of technological weaponry a market has been established and the cost of keeping this market booming is by the planting and
underground  sponsorship of war in different places because without wars countries would have no need for these weapons and the market won't make money.

This is why certain conflicts that ordinarily have supposed to have ended keeps flaming up just when we think it's about to see peace.

Quote
And does the ability to easily attack almost anywhere anyplace mean having crypto is more important than physical assets.
Having crypto right now is safer and important to having physical assets, however with the wars and all the bombardments it therefore increases the burden of search for a safer place to keep your seeds phrase so it doesn't get destroyed leading to loss of our crypto assets as a result of having the position we hid out seeds phrase hit by a drone attack.

Quote
To all in Ukraine vs Russia I hope for peace.
To all in Israel vs Palestine I hope for peace.
To all in China vs Taiwan please keep the peace.
I also stand for peace... For only peace can save us.

Quote
To this forum will the new methods of attack alter the value of physical assets thus increasing crypto assets.
You have asked a very salient question but let me think outside the box in providing a response. Yeah this new method of attack will ultimately alter the value of physical assets but may not  have an increasing effect on crypto asset.

For in times of war what's important is survival and apart from not being hit by a bullet or an airstrike you will definitely be hit by hunger. Hence people with crypto assets will be force to sell to enable them have cash to access food for survival of not just their self but family's. And this doesn't look good for crypto assets opposed to an increment.
1205  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If we lose in gambling, what do we need to do? on: October 09, 2023, 04:18:48 PM
Gambling is a place to spend money, although many gamblers consider casinos to be a place to earn money. But in reality, more gamblers lose their money at casinos or gambling sites. So I think all of us here probably have almost the same experience, namely losing a lot of money gambling
The reality is that we lose more money than we make from gambling. And it's laughable should a gambler entangle himself with the belief of having to make money through gambling.  If you want to stand a high ground of making through gambling own a casino or a gambling site.

Quote
I also lost money because I lost on gambling, but maybe not that much. But I know there are people who spend a lot of money for gambling. In your opinion, what should we do if we have lost a lot of money on gambling?
Take a brief break or go on a vacation to an area you won't have to gamble for a period of time it help you settle down.

Quote
Do we keep gambling to win so we can cover up previous losses? or stop and work normally and leave gambling? Or do you have other suggestions?
You can possibly cover up many losses, it's a goose chase in that you will continue losing more and more.

If you ain't gambling for fun but to make money from gambling and it's not working as planned I'll suggest you go get a job, double your hustle through a multiple streams of income of which gambling can't be one of them. Just a few cents to whom it may concern.
1206  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do crypto sport books have better odds than "licensed" ones? on: October 09, 2023, 03:57:54 PM
When in reality it's just probably states wanting a piece of gambling profits. I don't think anyone should be fooled by a platform being licensed. Because if a sportsbook wants to do wrong to people, it'll do it anyway. Odds and reputation are what matters.
If we're to start ignoring licensed sportsbook operators under the assumption that their platforms doesn't offer better odds don't you think we would be encouraging more and more unlicensed betting companies in the gambling community? There are licensed sportsbook that offers better odds that's why we don't have to generalize it if we happen to meet with those with a cheating odds

Supposed a non licensed sportsbook want to do wrong to people (of which they do) they probably without looking back on account of having nothing to lose but the licensed sportsbook would without fail have a second thought about what they stand to lose (their license to operate) if they are found culpable of an offense.  Something we should know is that no matter how the state authority fixate on gambling profits there's still a place for the law to take it course. It's safer playing with license gambling company.
1207  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Some Popular Themes for Online Slot on: October 09, 2023, 03:26:20 PM
I don't have a favorite theme in slots because that's not a reason to win, and I think slot games are made for fun playing them with music and interesting themes or features that make us enjoy the game and comfort that makes us addicted.
Apart from being easy to play, these themes and music can also trigger or hypnotize new users, no matter what gender or age anyone who logs in will love it.
I am no fan of slot games I casually play any of the games be it land or online opposed to sports betting that's my favorite. The only time I get to play is when I visit my cousin living in a distant town and since he's a lover of slot games I do follow him to one of his favourite casino spot where he spend much time playing the pirate slot game and then I do get attracted on any slot based on the theme.

At first one observation I got was that each slot game theme expresses a genre of the game and the themes also help  new comers to remember the particular slot they played if they couldn't remember the name later on due to the numerous slot machine games.
1208  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: October 08, 2023, 06:13:51 PM
Are the Sunday premier League games going to end in all draw games because at the moment all the listed matches for Sunday have all ended in a draw and this is something that some sports bettors may consider while selecting the bets for the weekend Sunday game?.

But I am sure that between Asernal vs Manchester City, there must be a winner and in this case, the club that the focus is on is more of Manchester City than Asernal.
Arsenal vs Manchester city game will definitely end with a winner, the game is very interesting and tough. From the look of the game arsenal performance is not bad and they have the chance of winning if they continue to play in  their good  performance.
If saka is in the game  it would have be of good advantage for arsenal because saks is  known to  be one of the arsenal talented players. Arsenal played an interesting game in the first half , I wish arsenal don't loose quality in the second half.
Both managers are familiar with their tactics, the both teams are close marking each other playing technically as an equal sides. Manchester City are playing aggressively causing a lot of fouls but arsenal have been able to withstand their aggressive technic.  second half will come with a different view... Arsenal have the advantage in this game if only their wingers (Matineli and Saka) are going to wake up in the second half (should they come in)to convert chances to goals

I find this match boring. Manchester City vs Arsenal expected to be the most competitive match in the Premier League. But both teams seem to be trying to share the points. I have rarely seen such defensive gameplay from Manchester City. In 70 minutes this team made a total of 4 shots and only 1 of them was on target. Arsenal  are playing better in their home matches than Manchester City. They had several  good attacks. But  they could not break City's strong defense. I thought this match would be very competitive. And we will see several goals. But this match is most likely to be a goalless draw. We don't expect such defensive gameplay from a strong team like Manchester City.
You seem not to understand how important points from this match is to both managers that's why you think the both teams are playing a boring game. These are two most competitive rivals for the EPL title last season and coming to this season same coin is flipping itself and both managers are cautiously avoiding errors that could cost their team the 3 points affecting their position on the table because for both teams every point means a lot as they progress in the EPL competition. Unfortunately the match didn't end a goalless draw as you had predicted, Artheta was able to by chance steal the 3 points winning the game 1-0 proving a home advantage against the Gardiola side. But I'll have been well pleased if the game had ended a goalless draw.

1210  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: October 08, 2023, 02:29:05 PM
We have 2 games today so here are my bets and predictions for the Bundesliga games today

Bayer Leverkusen VS FC Koln

The Stake odds for this game are 1.30 for Leverkusen, 5.40 for a Draw, and 9.80 for Koln, for this game Robert Andrich, Karim Bellarabi, Odlion Kossounou, Andrey Lunev, and Patrik Schick all can not play for Leverkusen because of their respective injuries, while Florian Dietz and Mark Uth are both out and can not play for Koln, for me Koln is in the verge of nothingness right now they are a true underdog for sure while Leverkusen is just fine, and for this game, if Koln could win against Leverkusen I think many will trust them again but for sure this is a really hard thing to say that Koln could win this well for my bet I would be betting on the Money Line and betting for the Correct Goal of 3-0 for this game,

Bayern Munich VS SC Freiburg

The Stake odds for this game are 1.15 for Bayern, 8.20 for a Draw, and 16.00 for Freiburg, For this game Alphonso Davies, Lucas Hernandez, Manuel Neuer, and Josip Stanisic can not play for Bayern Munich, while Daniel-Kofi Kyereh has an injury and can not play for Freiburg for this game, this could also be a one-sided game but for me I think that Freiburg can make a goal for sure but this can easily predicted with a win for Bayern Munich for sure, as Freiburg is not consistent anymore so my pick is Bayern Munich and my bet for this game is Bayern Munich Money Line and Correct Goal will be 3-1 for this game,

Leverkusen has another opportunity to probably maintain the top position in the bundesliga if they succeed in getting a win from koln today, klon happens to be at the bottom of the standing having performed badly this season and may be relegated by the end of the season if they stay at that position without making progress away from the red zone.
Bayer Leverkusen squad look so good this season and as it stands it's a team that can you can bet on to beat any other team in the Bundesliga this season and this doesn't exclude Munich. If you watch so far in  Leverkusens' previous games this season they have been a team with great attacking power and pace at the front and with a strong quality defense behind. And this Koln team isn't a match as I'll be expecting more goals from Leverkusen in the next 45 minutes.
1211  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: October 08, 2023, 02:03:40 PM
Brighton vs Liverpool is currently 1-0 thanks to Simon quality goal in the 20th minute. But don't be happy yet, I am still optimistic that Liverpool can turn things around in this first half. The time is still quite long and from statistics it can still be controlled. A front line with this composition means Moh Salah and Nunez will try to open gaps in Brighton defense.
M. Saleh have delivered for Luverpool as usual, making is 1-1. Now Liverpool just got awarded a penalty. I feel fatigue has gripped Brighton and that may cost them the match. They had a pretty good start anyways.

There is high chance Liverpool is taking the three away points because Saleh will score.

Liverpool comeback this first is very impressive, though they have much fire power than Brighton so we are expecting more effort from them. Mo Sallah has shown that he shouldn't be ignored on the defence line of any opponent.
That player that committed that penalty, is lucky for not getting a yellow card or even a red card for bringing somebody down on the 18 yard box. Most referee's won't hesitate to flash him a red or yellow.
Unfortunately Brighton couldn't hold the forth after taking the lead as Liverpool are now leading 1-2 right in the first 45 minutes.  Liverpool are so lethal, dimensional with intensity in this game that is why they could earn a comeback within 45mins and are now currently leading. Brighton on the other side ain't playing bad I think they are doing an amazing job fighting against the big boys on the field of play.
In my opinion a yellow yes but I don't know if it deserves a red card, and maybe the referee doesn't want to spoil the match that's why he took the decision of not giving a card at all.

I'm new to the forum and so far I'm beginning to understand the structure of the forum but my challenge is that I don't really have enough knowledge on crypto prior to now.

I have done a bit of research on YouTube but the information their is a bit confusing as it's more theoretical and I doubt the once I have seen is updated lately.

I really want to learn the basics in cryptocurrency and would need guidance from expert from this forum.
How you can in a simple and quick path inform yourself with the informations and knowledge about bitcoin after you might have read and understand the forum rules and regulations, is for you to take part in forum discussions, feel free to argue and express yourself constructively in threads of other members and their comments.

The more you  partake in the more you will learn as you get to read different comment opinions/informations from experience members regarding the topic of discuss.
The forum is more of a do it yourself community so information about bitcoin you get here you do your own research about it to be clarified, that's how we all learn here.

1216  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I got it all wrong from the beginning on: October 07, 2023, 06:22:13 PM
Yes thats how it worked actually. As long as you have the seed phrase kept somewehere else besides the phone you used then you can always plug in that on new device and check your wallet. Sometimes having it written on a piece of paper and securing it is much better than save it somewhere online. Thats a back up plan that everyone must be accustomed too.
Storing seed phrase online is a risky way to safe keep and secure our funds as it can be
easily  hacked by an hacker attack. Keeping it written on a paper is a simple but convenient and secure way since it's offline all you got to do is to search for a safe place and keep the paper/booklet. While using paper we should also ensure that the ink we are using to write down our seed phrase is an indelible ink that won't fade off over time. Another alternate means to store private seed offline is by using the metallic steel carving in your seeds it's is sure to stand the test of time even over a hundred years owing that it's securely hidden.
1217  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ English Premier League Season: 2023/2024 on: October 07, 2023, 12:58:08 PM
There is one early kick-off game, it is currently half-time: Luton Town 0-0 Tottenham Hotspur

Bissouma was sent off, Richarlison missed two very good opportunities and Maddison missed one opportunity. If Luton manages to score they will probably hold on and take all three points. If Tottenham manage to win the game today they will be sitting at the top of the Premier League table at least until tomorrow because Arsenal will play against Manchester City tomorrow in that important game. Liverpool also are in action tomorrow.
So far so good Luton Town is losing with 1:0 in favour of Tottenham who I was hoping in the second half due to their one man down they would be playing in the defensive while Luton Town having the numerical advantage will be on the offensive to get the three points but it's quite the opposite.  Jacob brown and Adebayo has been wasting clear cut goal chances for  Luton Town that would have put them on the lead in this game and am not impressed.
1218  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino is a Games of Chance and Entertainment on: October 07, 2023, 09:34:23 AM
Casino games are thoroughly based on luck for the gamblers to have a winning distinct from sports betting that you would have to get skills and information about the sport you'll be betting on before you can stand a better chance of winning it's no same with casino games if you're lucky enough you will make higher winnings than your counterparts. Like how do you intend to be skillful in games like roulette and spin games?

It true that there no problem whatsoever with gambling into old age as long as you can still have limits and gamble just for fun but at least it would be better in old age to gamble once week just to fill your free time and entertain yourself so you don't get bored.

Old people like senior citizens already have a lot of free time or we can considered that most of their time is already free since they are all retired or not capable of working anymore.

Old people that gambling during their young age usually spend their free time most on gambling. In our local bingo shop, most of the players is old people that regularly playing since most of them is already living on their own since their children already have their own family. Old people is actually the one that is not prone to addiction since they are not aggressive anymore on achieving huge win.
We could say old age is an anti-addiction stage of life that people at old age don't have worries to make huge money all they are most concerned about are engagements and activities that could kill the boredom of old age and gambling is one of such activity that best fit into their stage of life as a fun activity.

It would suggest that old age is the convenient time to connect with gambling as you wouldn't have issues with addiction, unnecessary gambling spending and loss chase issues.

I think many new gamblers are not aware of how to play poker and/or they do not have complete knowledge of Poker. Unlike other gambling games, Poker requires certain knowledge and there are certain sets of rules in the game. How to Play Poker for Beginners give some brief information about Poker which is a must for everyone who is new to Poker.
In my community we don't have people with a much interest in poker unlike sports betting so as a result you can hardly find anyone talking about poker and that had limit my interest in the game despite knowing about it for over the years. Though we have a local card game similar to poker called whot with a slim difference in rules to poker, and it's very popular in our locality. The popularity of the whot is what makes people take no interest in poker and that also applies to me too but then getting to play casinos games I at times substitute the whot to play poker although I enjoy the whot the more.
