which caused a liquidity cascade which liquidated the traders who were short selling bitcoin.
Interesting theory, but shouldn't that cause a significant drop in the number of shorts as they get liquidated? If you check out shorts on Tradingview and zoom out you can see that there were huge changes 2 weeks ago and the numbers barely change during the big jump on 16th.
1202  Other / Politics & Society / In a world where UN (US and colonies) support terrorism, only bullets must rule on: October 18, 2023, 03:16:33 AM

Unless you live under a rock you already know the war crimes that the Israeli terrorists have been committing in Gaza, Palestine. This particular one from last night is the worst to this date.

First the supporters of terrorism in the last United Nation's security council, United States and the parrots in Europe, refuse to condemn genocide, war crimes and acts of terrorism committed by Israel.

Next the terrorist organization called Israel tells Red Cross that they won't attack the hospitals such as Al-Ma'madani the Baptist Hospital in Gaza. Consequently, women and children trusting Red Cross take shelter in these hospitals with no food, water or electricity for the past days.

Finally as the human concentration builds up in hospitals, the Israeli terrorists use the recently received American bombs (more specifically MK-84 which is a heavy bomb weighing nearly 1 Ton or 2039 pounds) to murder thousands of them in a blinking of an eye as they start bombing the hospitals directly.

The picture above is the "cleanest" one I could bring myself to post here that doesn't include an endless pool of blood and body parts. This picture alone is the result of $3100 of American tax payers' money at work that killed over a thousand unarmed civilians, half of which children, taking shelter in a hospital.

In a world like this, you are condemned to strengthen yourself against the terrorists and their supporters. That's the only language they'll understand.

Let the Sejjils and Hoots and Karrars rain down already...
1203  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: A WIF generator ... but is it possible to generate faster ?? on: October 17, 2023, 05:40:24 PM
The biggest bottleneck here is the IO inside the loop. Regardless of the programming language and whatever else you do, this will end up still being slow because each iteration it keeps writing something to the disk (the WIFs). Either skip that altogether (write to disk if it matches) or write them to memory (eg. in an array) then dump on disk once at the end of the loop specially since it is a small loop with a million items (~50 MB memory).

I guess we'll see in the next 16 (+5) hours.
1205  Economy / Economics / Re: Isreal and Palestine war and losing your wallet phrase and password on: October 17, 2023, 03:49:40 PM
Have you consider that you lose all your coins because the wallet phrase to your coins and PC burn in a war.
So what will you do if you survive after the war to start back your financial struggling and your crypto investment journey. Or can you get the coins back?
It depends on what war!
If you are a Palestinian kicked out of your homeland and placed in a prison called Gaza Strip where every 2 minutes on average a heavy bomb is dropped on your head and most of those bombs are phosphorous bombs that boils you do death, then there isn't much you can do because not just your PC but everything you own and yourself are most probably going to turn into ash.
1206  Economy / Economics / Re: Energy Crisis 2.0 in the New World Order era on: October 17, 2023, 03:39:09 PM
All opinions with reasoning have a right to life, it's silly to deny it.  I have one simple question - what in your understanding is the "New World Order"? I just want to understand how you evaluate or understand it. Different readings of the same expression can lead to senseless disputes because of equal perception of the essence. Some people, for example, think that it is "dedollarization" or, for example, "shifting the center of decision-making and influence towards the global South". So I will be glad to hear your position on the meaning of the expression "New World Order" ?
The World Order keeps changing every couple of decades and in that change different countries come to power, some lose their power entirely, sometimes partially. To put in three words, any new world order is the "shift of power". For example the Order before the last was a dual polar world where US and USSR were the powers. Before that it was UK instead of US.

In the New World Order, like other times, the power will shift. To which countries? It is not predictable, we can only speculate. But one thing is certain the last Word Order was the first time the world was unipolar and US reigned for ~30 years. That time has ended which simply means that all the powers US used to have over that time are going to slowly be taken away, some partially and some completely.

One of these powers were of course the Dollar and the endless printing of it followed by exporting the inflation to the rest of the world. In other words dedollarisation is only part of that transition.

But there is a lot more.
For example a lot of supposedly "international" organizations that were in reality American such as United Nations are going to either be dismantled or see a fundamental change to become actually international, maybe even change location to a more neutral place.
Another one would be that same exact acts won't be treated differently. For example when US invades a country it is the same as when Russia invades a country, as opposed to US invasions being called "war for piece" while Russian invasion be called "invasion"!

And a lot more. But how the world is going to be in the New Order remains to be seen because it depends on a lot of things like which players are going to rise to power and how much power each of them are going to have, how each country is going to get through this transitional phase, etc. and the transitional phase is chaotic by nature.
1207  Economy / Economics / Re: Energy Crisis 2.0 in the New World Order era on: October 17, 2023, 05:48:08 AM
let me share another PoV regarding the situation in occupied Palestine concerning other countries and corridors:

As I pointed out in my other topic the biggest mistake any country can make these days is not accepting that the Old World Order is officially dead and in this transitional phase to the New World Order we only have a handful of "players" and the rest of the countries have to choose their side and play for one of these "teams". Preferably for the more powerful winning side.
In this "game" there are only two sides, East and West with West having only one player (US) while the East has 3 (Russia, China, Iran).
At this time if a country is geographically located in the East and is playing for the West (and vice versa), they will have to face the consequences. This is why we can no longer have any country that tries to play in the middle or stay neutral. This is why a country like Turkey for example that plays in the middle faces 80%-100% inflation, negative foreign reserves and is up to its neck in debt. This is why Poland, even small countries like Lithuania and Latvia have chosen side and are actively playing for that side. This is why we see Japanese laws are changing and Japan is being armed for war (for the Western side!). and so on...

Case in point the 2023 G20 summit. When some people were celebrating G20 summit with the Arabs and Indians participation with loads of propaganda in the mainstream media, what none of them realized (or wanted to hear) was that the decisions made in G20 was part of the Western puzzle which meant Eastern countries that participated in it, sooner or later would have to face the consequences of playing for the other side.
This was also clear from the fact that neither one of the 3 Eastern "players" were in it. That is: Russian president did not participate, neither did Chinese and Iran has never been part of it.

So when the IMEEC was agreed there, everyone should have expected it to blow up like this. A much longer, more expensive, more costly and far less secure corridor linking India to Europe through UAE, Saudi Arabia, Jordan and finally the terrorist organization Israel. Not only this was economically and logistically stupid but also it was basically declaration of war against the Easter superpowers since it was going against all their corridors.

With Palestine rising up, IMEEC is no more than a fancy dream... and we have to wait to see at what degree these countries can come back to the Eastern controlled corridors that were previously established and agreed upon: namely Iran-Armenia-Georgia-EU, Iran-Turkey-EU, Iran-Iraq-Syria-EU.

P.S. Note that the corridor plan that went up in smokes wasn't just for goods, it also included energy transfer.
1208  Economy / Speculation / Re: Recent market manipulation shows the enormous potential to reach the moon! on: October 17, 2023, 05:01:46 AM
You need to realize what happened today does not increase the chances of approval. If anything a rejection is more likely because it demonstrates what types of manipulation can easily happen in the bitcoin markets.
I personally don't care about ETF and I have always said that people should not adopt bitcoin through any "middle men", if anyone wants bitcoin they should just buy it directly! But what I do care about is the massive amount of money that is waiting on the sidelines, we got a small peek through the curtain and saw what it can do to the price even in a short period like yesterday.

In other words we are only a "spark" away from reaching ATH. What's that spark? I can not tell. It can be ETF approval, it can be halving, it can be US decreasing interest rate, etc.
1209  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: People running older versions of Core - Why? on: October 17, 2023, 04:30:37 AM
I have always downloaded without verifying signatures. If someone hacks website and uploads compromised bitcoin core, then he will be able to edit website and signatures and fake whole process. Or is it a good approach to save signature right now and check if they match the next time you download/update bitcoin core?
Not the signatures but the public keys, the signatures change each time based on the binary. Like transactions that each time you create a different tx (eg. spending from the same address), the signature is different even though your key is the same.

The security comes down to a concept called Web of Trust. You basically have to find a way to find and acquire the correct public keys used in signing the binaries. Then you can download the binaries and its corresponding signature from anywhere in the future and verify it with the public key you already have. So even if the websites were compromised and the attacker signs the binaries with their own public key, you still wouldn't fall for it because the signature won't verify against the correct public key you already have and trust.
1210  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Is using a remote node safe? on: October 17, 2023, 04:05:41 AM
Is there any other risk?  It can be alleviated by using block explorers or connecting to multiple SPV servers.
Block explorers are a privacy hazard and because they usually have some bugs, they are not the most reliable source to sync from. As for connecting to multiple servers, there is still the problem of Sybil Attack where you are connecting to "cancer nodes" instead: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Weaknesses#Sybil_attack

Other issues I can think of are implementation dependent like the SPV clients that are server dependent, meaning the user's client only connects to the centralized server that is run by the company and nothing else.
1211  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Given the first 15 words out of 24, can a hacker crack the wallet? on: October 17, 2023, 03:49:48 AM
Storing partial unencrypted wallet data on a fingerprint-encrypted USB drive or writing it directly on paper doesn't make much difference. These fingerprint-encrypted USB drives are specifically designed for protecting corporate trade secrets, and I don't think they can be easily cracked.
Digital storage has other shortcomings that just being hacked/cracked. For example hardware problems that is where the USB disk is harmed either physically or due to electrical issues or other things and the data on it becomes inaccessible. Or we have the data decay/degradation by passage of time.
1212  Economy / Economics / Re: Global markets brace for fallout as Middle East tensions rise on: October 17, 2023, 02:33:44 AM
The Palestinians are beating the terrorist organization known as Israel and its aftershocks is hitting the energy market. Oil price has already gone up but the more important energy source that may be overlooked is gas. There are pipelines that run through that region from the occupied Palestine and elsewhere, some of which exported elsewhere. On top of that there are semi-reliable sources that talk about Qatar having sent messages through private channels to stop gas exports entirely. This is all affecting the gas supply, specifically for Europe that already suffers from supply shortage if they want to restart the large number of industries and small businesses that shut down over the past year.
1213  Economy / Speculation / Recent market manipulation shows the enormous potential to reach the moon! on: October 16, 2023, 03:44:33 PM
Because of the economic hardship and because many markets are either in red or very risky, there has been a lot of money going into the bonds crap governments keep selling (to borrow money out of the investors' pockets) or is just "adrift" and is waiting to be invested in something.

The recent market manipulation with a fake news about SEC approving the BlackRock ETF showed the massive potential that exists in the bitcoin market to simply shoot to the moon and in a very short time too. In other words a lot of that money is waiting on bitcoin to make the first move to panic buy it "violently". Wink

What happened today is also one of the reasons I insist that currently bitcoin is undervalued (under its intrinsic value).
1214  Other / Politics & Society / Re: To american people : do you appreciate "Israël" to steal your money ? on: October 16, 2023, 03:29:45 PM
We happily defend Israel because there are those who want to wipe them off the map.
It's funny because in the Zionist ideology you (assuming you are not a Zionist yourself) are considered an animal who either needs to be put down like a dog or be used as livestock like camel or something! That is why Zionism is the only religion (if it can be called a religion) that nobody can choose. You'd have to be born into it so that they can keep the bloodline pure.

You guys should seriously learn the basics about the people you're supporting. Cheesy
1215  Economy / Economics / Re: If USA Will Be In The War - Government Can Confiscate All Bitcoins + Blockchain on: October 15, 2023, 04:21:26 PM
USA government can confiscate Bitcoins with USA based blockchain nodes + exchanges for war expenses.
The first part is not how bitcoin works, you can't confiscate other people's bitcoins using nodes. The US regime has to kick down people's doors and physically take their bitcoins/keys. Or just make an announcement that people should hand over their bitcoins to the government and receive an IOU, they have actually done something similar to this in the world war times with gold!

The second part on the other hand, can happen at any time which is why people should not keep their coins in other entities custody such as the centralized exchanges. It can easily be frozen and confiscated.
But here's the thing, there isn't that much bitcoin stored on exchanges to be able to fund a war for US that needs trillions for days to enter any wars. The entire bitcoin's value is $500 billion!

If the whole Bitcoin blockchain with main nodes in seized, you probably can not make transfer.
Only a portion of the entire global nodes (and also hashrate) is located inside US jurisdiction. By seizing all of them and not relaying transactions, there still are other nodes in the rest of the world (99% of the population!) that will relay it.

That is the power of decentralization...
1216  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: People running older versions of Core - Why? on: October 15, 2023, 03:27:31 PM
Could just be me, but the 1st thing I do when that happens is look to see if there are newer versions of the software. Not just in the crypto world but in any sort of computer issue.
I can't comment on the reasons each individual has for not upgrading but I can tell you that it has always been a pain for developers that they fix a bug and release a new version but users keep complaining about the same bug that they had already fixed because they never updated or checked that there is an update.

The best example I can think of is the network change in Electrum that prevented old clients from connecting to servers. The issue tracker is filled with people complaining about not being able to connect because they hadn't upgraded.
Example: https://github.com/spesmilo/electrum/issues/5260
Some even from 2 years later: https://github.com/spesmilo/electrum/issues/6992
1217  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: People running older versions of Core - Why? on: October 15, 2023, 01:20:15 PM
It's not a difficult thing to update.
It kind of is difficult. It is not as easy as updating your browser for example where it either updates in the background without the user noticing or you just click a button. You have to actually go to the core website, download the binaries then verify the signatures before you install the new version. All these extra steps makes people postpone such updates specially since they are not facing any difficulties with their usage.

Additionally core does not give the user any indication of the new versions being available inside the software itself, so it is understandable that people don't pay attention to it either.

It is like this for all software that users use. This is why there are all these pop-ups everywhere, like your phone keeps reminding you to update your apps or the OS itself, or your desktop having all these Windows/Linux update reminders, and almost all applications on your desktop have some "check for update" option hidden somewhere inside them.
Long story short, most people will never upgrade anything unless they are either reminded or they face an issue.
1218  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Chief of U.S. National Guard Bureau says they are incapable of helping Israel on: October 15, 2023, 10:21:22 AM
I doubt if Hezbollah has any intention of joining this war because the first 24-48 hours after the Hamas invasion would have been the best opportunity to strike Israel. At that point, Israel was weak and confused. Maybe they still have a better strategy if they have any intention to join.
This is a wise operation that is planned carefully each step of the way to keep the cost as low as possible.

You see, they are all fighting against a propagandist enemy. An enemy that has full control of the mainstream [Western] media and consequently the public opinion. Just look at the obvious lie they spread a couple of days ago about Hams killing babies! All mainstream media from Washington Post and Reuters and even the President of USA to BBC and CNN and a lot of European news outlets ran it without a second of hesitation.
It was a clear lie and now all those outlets are admitting it was bullshit but as a footnote somewhere nobody sees. Like this tweet from CNN.
That is while the Israeli terrorists have already verifiably slaughtered 400+ children in Gaza with internationally banned phosphorous bombs, and none of those mainstream media outlets are covering it at the same level!

Imagine if from day one everyone brought their full forced and started attacking the Israeli terrorists from all sides. The public opinion in the West would have turned against them right away as they would have been bombarded with massive amounts of propaganda brainwashing them every minute with lies. This would have increased the cost of the war. For example now instead of discussing how many Merkava tanks and F16 jets have been lost we would have been counting the number of warships US has lost.

But look what happened instead that it is only Gaza in the front line, the public opinion of large number of people in the West and obviously the entire East is actually against the Israeli terrorists specially since these terrorists have been committing horrible war crimes against women and children.
Even more so when videos like this one come out from the mother-in-law of the First Minister of Scotland who is currently inside Gaza with her family and children watching the slaughter happen with their own eyes:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=koFHbbgIl4E

This document leak might also be a military propaganda ~
Considering that this is not the only leak, not the first time and not the only evidence we have of the serious weakness of the US military, assuming it is propaganda is out of the question.
1219  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Israel-Palestine escalation might be staged by Israel to destroy Palestine on: October 15, 2023, 09:44:58 AM
You want to tell me that weak Israel is destroying strong Palestine?
Look at the statistics. Palestinian armed forces have only had 19 soldiers KIA from the start of the Hurricane of Al-Aqsa operation. With about 2000 women and children slaughtered by the Israeli terrorists.
On the other side the Israelis have lost at least 1000 soldiers by estimations (270+ by admittance) dead and at least 300 were captured as poisoners with 500-700 MIA. That is on top of the dozens of tanks, helicopters and a single F16 jet they lost.

From a military perspective, one teeny tiny armed militant Palestinian force is far more strong than Israel!
In fact that is why the Israeli terrorists have been murdering unarmed women and children from the start, so that they can pretend that they are doing something on paper when the numbers come out!

Just think about it, overall, Muslim people have a reputation of being terrorists and they never do good things when they come as refugees in Europe.
Propaganda-wise because US wanted to invade oil-rich countries that all happen to also be Muslim countries, the Muslims had to be introduced as radicals which is why the idea of an operation codename "Radical Islam" was started in Washington by CIA and have been bombarding people with the propaganda ever since in the mainstream media, Hollywood movies, etc.
Funny enough, those who fight terrorists are Muslims, for example it was the Muslim world with the leadership of Iran that fought and destroyed ISIS while US had both created ISIS and have been supporting it ever since.

As for radical behavior of immigrants, all those who are forced to be dislocated, specially by war are always committing radical acts. Ukrainian refugees are a good example that are neither from Middle East nor are Muslims and yet many of them are far more radical than other war refugees.

So, after this, how are you going to convince people to support Palestine over Israel?
There is no need for anybody to convince other people, the free and civilized people with brain always find the truth themselves.
There were so many large protests in support of Palestine across Europe that the European regimes are now banning it! For example in France there now is 5-7 years of prison for anybody who would carry the Palestinian flag or posts anything in support of Palestine in social media.
1220  Other / Politics & Society / Chief of U.S. National Guard Bureau says they are incapable of helping Israel on: October 15, 2023, 04:55:49 AM
The freshly leaked documents from the communication by the four-star general in the United States Army who currently serves as the 29th chief of the National Guard Bureau, general Daniel Robert Hokanson has revealed that the US troops are not willing to die for the terrorist organization known as Israel.
This is not the first time armed forces of U.S. refuse to die for the terrorists either: https://www.militarytimes.com/flashpoints/extremism-disinformation/2023/06/01/white-house-orders-pentagon-to-probe-antisemitism-islamophobia/

Not just that but also he reveals that United States military (the CENTCOM sector) neither has the troops nor the capability of entering the ongoing conflict specially if it turns into a multi-front war in case the armed forces of Lebanon enter the war too.

P.S. The funniest thing about this is that it was in June (4 months ago) that after massive intelligence leak from US military and other sectors, Gen. Hokanson vowed that there won't be any more intelligence leaks and now his very own classified communication is hacked and is being leaked Grin
