*I mostly sold

Shit, now I feel like a mixture of Adam and Proudhon.

lol not quite bro. You just havent felt enough sting yet for bad trading decisions. I on the other hand, have.

Me too. Best strategy for me BY FAR has been buy and hold. Anything else is too risky in this market.

I just told myself when I woke up... I made myself a few BTC more with trades like this. Hope is such an asshole. I'll hold now. Psychologically, I still can't belive that we gained 50%+ in one month. A possible mega plunge? Adams revival? Will I exit at the right time? Should I smoke more weed, post less on this thread? Cheesy
On the other hand, the market looks very strong and not like the pizza I have on my table since yesterday.

To get Proudhons single digits this April, a serious bug in the source code would be neccessary. Shocked

Yep, exactly. It would take a black swan to stop the train now. I dont doubt we will see a correction at some point, but Im thinking it will come closer towards 30-50 and even then will be unlikely to penetrate below 20-25 when it does happen.
1202  Economy / Speculation / Re: Uh oh - fat fingers. on: February 07, 2013, 05:22:20 PM
I have noone to blame but my own terribly fat fingers

I once thought I was entering a limit sell order, but actually ended up doing a market sell because it was on the default screen. Gox doesnt have safeguards to save the lazy/impulsive/dim   Embarrassed

Im not sure how many coins I lost (too ashamed to calculate.. but it was in the hundreds from this trade alone)

People seem to be market buying in big amounts at about this time at night tues- thursday routinely. I'm guessing its after mtgox sends them a notification that their wire has arrived and they just want to get in as soon as possible.
1205  Economy / Speculation / Re: [poll] What Percent of your Net Worth is in Bitcoin? And why? on: February 07, 2013, 02:35:20 AM
I started about a year ago at about 20% and am now up to about 85% due to both increasing my amount of fiat injected in and appreciation. I am relatively young still and I know this is a once in a lifetime opportunity, so I am comfortable with starting over if it explodes because the possible benefit is just too high.
1206  Economy / Speculation / Re: A more in-depth BTC/USD analysis... on: February 07, 2013, 02:19:39 AM

Supposedly, BitInstant is doing $100K+ a day.

source?

yeah i highly doubt it. thats nearly all of the average volume on gox

Its not a bad thought robo - and thanks for being transparent.  Smiley

Did the 0.01 bot switch direction today?

It seems so. Is it a bearish sign?

Yes, directly from your bot overlord
1209  Economy / Speculation / Re: Yet another analyst :) on: February 06, 2013, 05:00:58 AM
are you in the habit of posturing yourself at extreme angles? shoulders are even. this is bad TA

If by TA, you mean Troll Attempt, you would be correct

Its stuck on the "CHANGING WALLET IDENTIFIER "... though I dont know why it would be changing anything o.0
1211  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Blockchain.info and BlockExplore.com non-responsive on: February 06, 2013, 04:36:10 AM
down for me as well  Sad
1212  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: February 05, 2013, 05:22:49 PM
Yeah, I agree Arvicco, but as said above - those walls are not for sale. It's pretty ballsy to put them up on a Tuesday. Someone could quite easily eat a good portion of their lunch.
1213  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: February 05, 2013, 01:38:56 AM
I have a good feeling about tomorrow.  Cool
1214  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: February 04, 2013, 10:49:47 PM
The wall is gone after the last sell off to 19.90. I had considered selling a bit if it fell to that range to buy back cheaper, but highly suspected this would happen. It just felt like all those bids were the Wallmaker's bids. Seems so, haha.

I'm still amazed this tactic works.
1215  Economy / Speculation / Re: Where do you think we are in the bubble? on: February 04, 2013, 08:54:37 PM

$32 was "the new paradigm", $2 was "dispair", $5 was return to the mean. We are now seeing a repeat of the same pattern.

I know you are illustrating the point corresponding to that chart, but saying that $32 was the new paradigm is a bit of a joke. That entire bubble only lasted a few days.

Right now, based on that chart, I would say that we are in the media attention phase of growth (though in the case of bitcoin a more accurate description would be "appropriate merchant adoption").

Welcome to speculation ATC and thanks for sharing.

I think that while you are correct that a double top could be forming, I am not so sure it will succeed. With bitcoin one of the most important factors to consider is the weekend dip (a result of the fact that the exchanges are open 24/7. but the banks are not). Another thing to consider about Bitcoin is that it doesnt tend to dip in the same way that forex or other markets do. If we are in a long term bull trend, the price tends to hover around one target and not move up (rather than retrace down before continuing up).

I think the chances are greater that we continue at this level for some time (similar to what happened at 13) and then continue the trend back up again.

1220  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Alternative to linuxcoin? on: February 02, 2013, 05:55:33 AM
I dont have a linux or completely offline computer and I want to boot from my mac into linux or some other bootable OS so that I can make a paper wallet. Since linuxcoin is dead, is there an alternative with similar functionality?
